Lin's first film was Shopping for Fangs, released in 1997. A little later he shoots the short film “Crossover” (2000), but has not yet achieved fame.
The name of the director becomes known to many viewers and film critics after the birth of the crime drama Tomorrow Will Be More Lucky (2002). The plot was based on a story about a company of Asian guys who were diligent students during the day, and in the evenings indulged in all sorts of sins: they used drugs and stole. Justin Lin in this film acted not only as a director, but also as a screenwriter and producer, and even acted as an actor.
A fateful turn in Lin’s career was his invitation to direct.
Triple afterburner: Tokyo drift" In 2006. Crazy speeds and racing fights, a sharp plot and confrontation of heroes on the pavement along with “pumped” cars are an integral part of all the films “Fast and Furious”. The task before Justin Lin was not easy, but he coped with it brilliantly, making a dynamic, colorful film, with minimal participation of computer graphics and real tricks on machines. At the same time, almost the entire film was accompanied by multi-genre musical compositions.
In 2007, Justin Lin worked on the comedy film “Finishing the Game”, which plays the events around the Bruce Lee film “Game of Death”. The film received positive reviews from film critics at the Sundex festival.
In 2009, Justin Lin continued to work on the next film “Fast and Furious”, filming its fourth part. The plot of the film remained the same: action-packed races with the participation of charismatic Vin Diesel in the title role.
Justin’s next film, Highlander, was scheduled for release in 2012. Already at a fairly young age, Lin had already reached great heights in the field of directing, and his subsequent projects revealed the talent of the filmmaker in its entirety. /
