Oleg Konstantinovich Popov was born on July 31, 1930 in the Moscow region, in the village of Vyrubovo. In 1950 he graduated from the State Circus School. Oleg Popov began his creative career in the circus as an eccentric equilibrist on loosely stretched wire, and since 1951 acts as a carpet clown. Oleg Popov is a laureate of the International Circus Festival in Warsaw (1957), winner of the Oscar Prize (1958, Brussels) and many other professional awards. Oleg Konstantinovich Popov was born on July 31, 1930 in the Moscow region, in the village of Vyrubovo. In 1950 he graduated from the State Circus School. Oleg Popov began his creative career in the circus as an eccentric equilibrist on loosely stretched wire, and since 1951 acts as a carpet clown. Oleg Popov is a laureate of the International Circus Festival in Warsaw (1957), winner of the Oscar Prize (1958, Brussels) and many other professional awards. The “calling card” of the clown was a large cap in a black and white “chess” cage, striped trousers and a red bow tie. Oleg Popov starred in a number of films, including "The Adventures of the Yellow Suitcase", "Merry Dream, or Laughter and Tears", "Mother". Since the late 1980s, Sun Clown has lived and worked in Germany.
