Documentary series “The Great Patriotic War: Liberation of Ukraine” Liberation of Belarus, shot by Igor Geleyn and Lev Danilov, consists of two main parts. The first part is devoted to the liberation of Ukraine, which was occupied by the Nazis in 1941-1943 and in which more than 714 cities and villages and 16,000 industrial enterprises were destroyed. On November 6, 1943, the Soviet troops of the First Ukrainian Front, after a long and bloody battle, liberated Kiev and created a strategic bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper.
The second part is devoted to the liberation of Belarus, in which the punitive operations of the fascist troops were the most sophisticated and cruel. Thus, according to historians, every fourth inhabitant of this country was destroyed during the fascist occupation, and if it were not for the Soviet troops that liberated Belarus in the summer of 1944 and moved to East Prussia, it is unknown whether this country would be on the map now. close
