The film “Rumpelstiltskin” became one of the many adaptations of the work of the Brothers Grimm. His hero is an insidious dwarf with the ability to make gold from straw. The picture was staged by German director Ulrich Koenig, the main roles were performed by Gottfried Jon Juli, Christian Keeling and Engelbrecht.
One day, to impress, a mediocre miller boasted that his daughter could spin gold straight from straw. Upon learning of this, the king ordered to bring this talented girl to his palace. Locking Lisa in a room, he told her to spin gold for him. An unhappy girl, who does not know anything like this, falls into despair. Suddenly, an unpleasant dwarf offers to help Lisa. However, in exchange for gold, he demanded neither more nor less, but her future firstborn. In fear of royal wrath, the poor girl agrees to a terrible contract, and the sovereign receives his gold.
Soon, Lisa becomes the bride of the young heir to the throne, and they play a grand wedding. After a while, they have a child, and the dwarf reappears to demand his reward. The young mother in tears begs him not to take the first child, to which the dwarf replies that he agrees to leave her child if she guesses his name within three days. close

The series began filming in June 2006 and was first broadcast from 8 May 2007. The series is divided into "scrolls", each based on one book, starting with The Secrets of Vesuvius. The stories are told in the same order as the book series, except for book 6, The Twelve Tasks of Flavia Gemina, which is transposed to the second season. Books 11 and 12 were not adapted, and the series ends with the adaptation of Book 13. Each scroll consists of two half-hour episodes. The first scroll guest-starred Simon Callow as Pliny the Elder.
On 22 May 2007, after just two episodes, Anne Foy announced on CBBC on BBC One that the show has been postponed due to recent events in the news and would return later in the year on CBBC on BBC One. Since "The Pirates of Pompeii" was about children being kidnapped, the postponement was most likely due to the then recent disappearance of Madeleine McCann. On 19 June the series began broadcasting again from the beginning.
