Through a focus on the life of Dalton Trumbo (1905-1976), this film examines the effects on individuals and families of a congressional pursuit of Hollywood Communists after World War II. Trumbo was one of several writers, directors, and actors who invoked the First Amendment in refusing to answer questions under oath. They were blacklisted and imprisoned. We follow Trumbo to prison, to exile in Mexico with his family, to poverty, to the public shunning of his children, to his writing under others' names, and to an eventual but incomplete vindication. Actors read his letters; his children and friends remember and comment. Archive photos, newsreels and interviews add texture. Written by close

It is a pity that dinosaurs disappeared from the face of the earth. Scientists have been studying their remains for so long and reconstructing their way of life with such accuracy that it sometimes seems that we can see at least one in a zoo. Nature, however, is wiser than we are, and by sending a series of meteorites to earth, it has rid mankind forever of these enormous predators.
The film Mark Fafar "Dinosaurs 3D: giants of Patagonia" immerses us in the world of these amazing animals. With the help of computer graphics, the authors introduce us to the life of dinosaurs, creating the illusion of absolute reality. close

French artist and author Jean Giraud is one of the most famous and influential comic strip illustrators and authors of all time. He achieved his greatest fame as Moebius - not so much a pseudonym as an alter ego. With his triple-split personality - Jean Giraud, Moebius, Gir - he succeeded in making his work accessible in popular comic strip series like Blueberry, in metaphysical fantasies like John Difool and, not least, to a broad public, with set designs for films such as The Fifth Element. In Moebius Redux - A Life in Pictures an exceptional artist tells his life's and work's story. Extraordinary views on Paris, Los Angeles and the Mexican desert build a visual link between his life and his artistic universe, accompanied by the electronic soundtrack composed by "Kraftwerk" legend Karl Bartos. close
