Enki Bilal was born on October 7, 1951 in Belgrade (then Yugoslavia). In 1960, his family moved to Paris, where he continued his studies and developed an interest in comic art and cinema. In 1989, he directed his first feature film, Bunker Palace Hotel. For his second film "Moon of Tycho" (1997), Enki Bilal received the prize of the Brussels Film Festival of Fantasy and Horror - "for the artistic level and visual concept".
