Patriot And with such a grand scale of the unfolding dynamic story, you can easily close your eyes to all sorts of historical inaccuracies, besides the tape is primarily fantastic and represents exactly the “alternative story”, the Second World War, which was in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and not an attempt to present something realistic and plausible. However, the spirit of military realities is perfectly intertwined with the spirit of fiction, and graphic solutions are very pleased with the qualitative study of screen action.
From that, here in a variety there are magnificently executed graphically jumps and strikes, many of the most incredible tricks and, in the end, the story of a super soldier who can stand alone against serious enemies and their terrible plans. Heroism and dedication in every grain and every frame, the idea of self-sacrifice and faith in yourself, faith in others. And then, indeed, in the most fantastic way, you can overcome any difficulties and obstacles that arise, and real and true heroism will always find ways to manifest itself.
Seemingly very long, the original character from a frail but brave guy in a tall and cool hero is only the tip of a strong and massive block of action and special effects, which the film becomes even before the end of its first half. Exciting and spectacular motorcycle chases, fantastic military equipment and protracted shootouts, explosions in extraordinary numbers with signature jumps of heroes against their background for the greater beauty of the frame. Joe Johnston shot the best picture of his career, charging with such drive and enthusiasm that after watching it pulls not so much to revise the previous comic books of the studio as to re-see the modern version of Captain America.
The saturation of the action component of this film is very famously superior to previous projects of Marvel, and at the same time many other films about superheroes. However, it is still very different from genre representatives due to the time period chosen for the narrative. The frames of the Second World War in themselves set up for active military operations, while some other analogues surprise rather with unexpected spectacular episodes and interesting author's ideas for the implementation of action.
It can really come to the taste of those who do not tolerate anything American, besides, residents of countries with mandatory military service are unlikely to understand even the semantic agitation of the project. But the bright merits of the picture does not cancel. Americans are great to shoot about themselves loved ones, and they succeeded once again. Before us, perhaps, the best American film theme of the Second World War, after “Pearl Harbor” by Michael Bay.
At times, delving into the dark atmosphere of fascism represented here by the organization “Hydra” led by the Red Skull, the film, even with its cruelty and volume of deaths, goes in the right entertainment direction of the superhero genre, becoming more optimistic, heroic and positive. He manages to entertain the full program with his action and does not tire even for such a long time. I want to continue with this picture!
"Captain America" is simple in concept but profound in content. And without trying to capture a large number of moral ideas, he focuses on the most important, digging through his timekeeping deeply and touchingly, clinging to his story and his heroes. And the amazing casting in which, in addition to the leading roles of Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving, there is a chic Tommy Lee Jones, and a bright Toby Jones, a beautiful cameo by Stan Lee, which came out Howard Stark from Dominic Cooper you generally need to see yourself, and many secondary characters manage even in a short screen time to be remembered and liked, causing even more pleasant memories from watching.
The perfectly adapted costume of the famous hero of comics and animated series, although different from the usual, looks very successful design solution. Evans looks great in it, and various variations gracefully make a set of wonderful homages. What is worth only one “blow at Hitler” during show campaigns, the choice of a shield, branded white ears-wings in various versions of the outfit, and much more. The patriot of his country in a heroic role is actively fighting the world threat, protecting ordinary people, saving prisoners of war and trying in every possible way to win a brutal war.
The multinational commando detachment, which again appears on the screens Dam Dam Dam Dam Dagan, has already been much more canonical than it was in the nineties in Nick Fury, and it is also impossible not to mention the party of the villain-scientist Arnim Zola. Well, the makeup of the Skull is absolutely amazing, it can be praised endlessly. Weaving presents one of the brightest comic-villains of cinema, surely remaining on the long memory of the audience in this guise!
However, having played a military boy blockbuster, Johnston seems to have forgotten to pay due attention to the love line of the protagonist. Already the choice of pale and inexpressive Hayley Atwell for the role of Peggy Carter looked like a clear disregard for the heroine, but exposing her to be a completely cold-blooded and emotionless bitch, unable even to squeeze a tear at the climax of dramatic moments, there can be no question of any obvious chemistry between the characters. For her, the captain is like a functional toy, which you regret after a breakdown only as a thing that helps in the household, rather than as a valuable and especially beloved person.
To justify such lethargy and weakness of the romantic component can, however, already two reasons. Firstly, a further leap to the "Avengers" will send Captain 70 years ahead and about the affair with Carter and you can safely forget, and secondly, you can count the film for the absence of unnecessary pink snot and sentimentality. Girls are unlikely to appreciate it, but "purely boy movie" in spirit and remains exclusively male. Action, explosions, shootouts - a military jingo-patriotic fighter with a male character and a strong spectacular visual. This (and much else in the film) is easily comparable to the first “Iron Man” where the most sensitive viewers did not even wait for the kiss scene between Stark and Paltrow.
Perhaps, really from comparisons with other movie comics (in addition to the previous adaptations of "Captain America") suggest two parts of "Iron Man", the bar of which the new comic book did not lower and in many ways even raised, showing stunning quality, exciting drive and an impressive story. The abundance of references to the general Marvel Universe will be appreciated by fans, and, even unfamiliar with the source and the character himself, a simple viewer may well get great pleasure from viewing. Johnston shot a grandiose and heroic spectacle about the alternative war period of the forties, verified by all the canons of Hollywood cinema, perfectly combining action and drama in proportion, making at the same time one of the most brilliant and powerful film comics in history! This is a great blockbuster!
