Michael Cimino was born on November 16, 1943 in New York (New York, USA). Graduated from Yale University in the class of architecture and dramatic art. Michael Cimino began his career shooting commercials and documentaries, writing scripts. In the "big" movie, he was "matched" by Clint Eastwood, and soon Cimino made his debut as a producer, director and screenwriter with the film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974), in which Eastwood himself played. The most famous – and considered the best in the work of Cimino – the picture “Deer Hunter” (1978), awarded among other awards two “Oscars”.
