Daniel achieved his first acting success in the TV Poetry Studio, which was directed by director Andrzej Konitz, and began to receive his first acting fees. In 1963 he made his first film appearance in Janusz Nasfeter’s feature film Wounded in the Woods, and in 1964 he entered the Theatre Institute in Warsaw. In the first year Daniel Olbrychsky played in the drama of Andrzej Wajda Ashes . This role made him the most sought-after actor of the younger generation.

Daniel began to appear more often on the screen: he played in the military drama “Then there will be silence”, then twice played athletes in the films “Champion of Europe” and “Jovita”. But the greatest recognition he brought the films of Andrzej Wajda – Daniel starred in 11 of his paintings (“All for sale” (1968), “Bereznyak” (1970), “Landscape after the battle” (1970), “Promised Land” (1974), etc.).
The 70s in the work of Daniel Olbrychsky are marked by many roles in the films of other directors. In 1970 and 1971, the actor played roles in Miklos Jancho’s films Lamb of God and Pacifist. In 1974, he starred in the historical drama directed by Jerzy Hoffman. Flood based on the novel of the same name by Henryk Senkevich.
