Sophia Vladimirovna Giacintova (1895-1982) was lucky to be born in an intelligent noble family, where everyone loved and respected a friend and all suffered from a common disease – the theater. Sonja’s father was a member of the Shakespeare Society, he himself “sinned” with drama, and home amateur plays played out in the family constantly.
The Sony family did not miss a single premiere in the Bolshoi and Small Theatres. It is not surprising that while friends-gymnazis fell in love with boys-neighbors or brilliant guard officers, the place in the heart of Sonya alternately occupied Chaliapin, Sobinov, Kachalov.
At the age of 15, Sophia becomes an employee of the Art Theater. Despite the fact that the so-called dumb statisticians in the crowd, the competition for the place of employees was, perhaps, no less than now in GITIS or RATI. At the same time, Sonya and a group of theater youth studied the Stanislavsky system.
Sophia’s burning desire to become an actress came true. She was also lucky to meet many interesting people. From the Art Theatre (later it became known as the Moscow Art Theatre) have not left the "famous old men" - Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, but, at the same time, talented young people began to come there: Vakhtangov, Mikhail Chekhov, Seraphim Bergman. This group became the basis of the first Moscow Art Theatre studio, which later became known as Moscow Art Theatre-2, which, however, was quickly closed for ideological inconsistency. Here Giazintova played her favorite roles.
Then Sophia and several other actors went to the Lenin Komsomol Theatre. There passed the mature years of the actress. She became a theater director, and then the main director of Lenkom, for some time even led the theater.
In the movie Sophia Giatsintova starred little, although it was for the role in the film she received the State Prize. In
