Alexander Leopoldovich Khvylya (real surname - Bressem) was born on July 15, 1905 in the village of Alexandro-Shultino, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1922, Alexander graduated from the Vorovskii Studio of Dramatic Art, after which he worked at the Zankovetskaya Theater in Dnepropetrovsk, in 1927 he moved to the Shevchenko Theater in Kharkiv.
