Jacques Audiard was born on April 30, 1952 in the family of the famous screenwriter and director Michel Odiard. Jacques was preparing for the work of a teacher, however, in the second year he dropped out, went to work in cinema and got a job as an editor. In the early eighties, Jacques Odiard tries himself in creating scripts. “Professional”, “Elusive Bob”, “Deadly Walk”, “Radio Frequency of Murder” are just some of the films scripted by Jacques Odiard.
In 1994, Jacques made his debut as a director.

In 1994, Jacques made his debut as a director. It was the film “Watch how people fall” – a dark picture of the relationships and connections of completely different people. But it was this film that brought the director the prestigious Cesar Award for best debut work, the Georges Sadul Award and the recognition of the public and critics. Two years later, Jacques Odiard shot his second film, The Very Modest Hero, based on the novel of the same name by Jean-François Deneaut. The painting “Read lips” based on the novel by Tonino Benakvista brought him nine awards “Cesar”.
Picture "My heart stopped beating" It was nominated for the top prize of the Berlin Film Festival – the Golden Bear statuette, and the Prophet was first shown at the 61st Cannes Festival. In France, the film was awarded the Grand Prix. Despite his age, Jacques Odiard is not going to stop there and continues to create unsurpassed masterpieces of cinema.
