Christo Shopov is a Bulgarian actor. Christo was born in 1964 in Sofia, Bulgaria, into a creative family. His father – Naum Shopov – was a famous actor who starred in films and played in many theater productions. His mother and sister were actresses, as were his grandparents. Of course, he continued the acting dynasty and after graduation he entered the National Academy of Theatre and Cinema Krastyo Sarafov.
In 1981, Christo made his debut in Breathe, Little Man, which also starred his mother.

In 1981, Christo made his debut in Breathe, Little Man, which also starred his mother. While studying at the university, he began to play in the theater and act in films, gaining experience. In the fourth year, Christo was chosen as a director.
Soon Hristo Shopov became one of the most famous and recognizable artists in Bulgaria. He was lucky to play in such films as “Margarita and Margarita”, “Indian Games”, “Ochite Cry Differently”. Lark's nest and so on. Many of them were awarded prestigious awards.
In addition, Christo continued to play in the theater, taking part in productions of Jump on Bed and Contract with his father. Soon the fame of the actor went beyond Bulgaria. At first, he was invited to star in the European films Berlin 39, Don Quixote Returns. Then the actor became popular in America. He played in the films “Gray Zone”, “Something most important” and so on.
A turning point in Christo’s career was his filming in Mel Gibson’s film The Passion of the Christ, released in 2004. He played Pontius Pilate. This role made the actor a global star. He won the Golden Knight Award for Best Actor.
Christo Shopov can play any role in a variety of genres from tragedy to comedy, and no one doubts his sincerity. After that, the actor began to be invited to shoot in such films as “Black Color”, “Lark Nest”, “Love. No”.
