Boris Bazurov is a Soviet Russian composer, a bright representative of such trends as ethno-music, folk and, in particular, Russian folk music, himself actively engaged in ethnomusicology. He is a master of a stringed musical instrument called a stick, a very rare type of guitar. He was born on May 26, 1959. He received music education at the Sveshnikov Academy of Choral Art, which he graduated from in 1976, and then at the Gnesin RAM - he received a diploma of this prestigious university in 1981.

He was born on May 26, 1959. He received music education at the Sveshnikov Academy of Choral Art, which he graduated from in 1976, and then at the Gnesin RAM - he received a diploma of this prestigious university in 1981.
During his long-term career, Boris Evgenievich released about twenty albums, authored the ethno-rock opera “Cossack Razin Stepan”, the ethno-jazz musical “Snezhimochka”, the opera “Ryurik King Russian” and many other works of similar orientation. Being the head of various folklore ensembles in different years, Bazurov made a great contribution to the reconstruction of various types of ethnic music, including the revival in his collectives of the ensemble of horners and guslars from among the Novgorod skomorokhs, the choir of Vladimir horners, solo performance of epics to the accompaniment of medieval ghusles and much more.
