The family in which Lyubov Sergeyevna was born on July 31, 1921, was far from art. The father of the future actress worked as a cabinetmaker, her mother was a saleswoman in the city of Ivanovo-Voznesensk. After graduating from high school, Sokolova went to Leningrad (St. Petersburg) to enroll in a pedagogical institute, but she, dreaming of a completely different profession, was lucky: Lyuba saw an ad for admission to the acting school at Lenfilm.
