He was born on September 8, 1926. Moscow, the hometown of the future actor, opened up great prospects for him in terms of creativity - from childhood, having fallen ill with the theater, Gennady Mikhailovich visited the performances, immersing himself in the indescribable atmosphere of theatrical life. Immediately after school, he came to the newly opened in 1943 Mkhatov school, where he learned acting skills from outstanding masters, real luminaries of the stage. After graduation, he worked for one year in the Moscow Art Theater, and in 1948 he came to the Central Children's Theater, with which he connected his creative fate. Later he grew up to be the director of this theater.
During his long career, Pechnikov played a large number of roles on the theatrical stage, as well as in cinema, in particular, in films.
Michurin And "Noisy Day" was awarded a number of honorary titles and awards. For more than thirty years he has worked with the Indian creative community. The government of this country highly appreciated the cultural contribution of the actor and director and awarded him (the only foreigner) the Order of Bal Mitra (meaning "Friend of the Children"). In 2008, on May 10, Gennady Mikhailovich received from the head of the Indian state the Order of Padma Sri (Lotus Order), the highest award of this country awarded to foreign nationals.
Also for many years Pechnikov is at the head of the Institute of Theater Art named after P. M. Ershov, the so-called “Ershov school”, where he is a professor.
