Svetlana Druzhinina, Russian actress and director, was born on December 16, 1936. Her mother was a Don Cossack who worked in kindergarten, and her father was an ordinary driver.
Even as a child, Svetlana lost her father, who died during the battles near Smolensk in the Great Patriotic War. Her mother worked late to feed her family. That is why the girl became independent early and took her fate into her own hands. One day, she saw an ad for children her age to attend circus school. Having received a favor from her mother, she easily entered there. For a whole year, Svetlana was engaged in a group of circus acrobats, reputed to be “a rubber girl”. But soon the circus began to go on tour, and the mother forbade Svetlana to leave the city, as it could interfere with school.
Svetlana was not used to giving up and soon decided to enter the choreographic school at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre. And here she was waiting for success. Persevering in ballet, Svetlana Druzhinina developed clarity and harmony in her movements. Since then, she has become an elegant and slim woman, admired by both fans and filmmakers. However, she did not have the opportunity to become a ballet star – at one of the rehearsals she was injured.
Then Svetlana Druzhinina drew attention to television and cinema. She began her career in this field as a leading KVN. Working live for the first time, she gained invaluable experience in front of the camera. In 1955, Svetlana Druzhinina celebrated her debut in the cinema, which happened thanks to the release of the film “Behind the store window”. She got on the set thanks to the director Samson Samsonov, who noticed her in one of the holiday programs on television. After working on this film, she realized that she was not familiar with the acting profession and decided to improve her knowledge at VGIK at the acting faculty. Her first professional film was The Case Was in Penkov (1958). Then there were roles in “The Bridge cannot be crossed” (1960), “On seven winds” (1962), “Somewhere there is a son” (1963), “Green light” (1965), “Beloved” (1965), etc.
Restless, full of activity Svetlana Druzhinina managed to try herself as a director. Her first work in this field was the film “Fulfillment of wishes”, based on the novel by V. Kaverin. After that, she made many more beautiful films. The brightest and most successful of them became
picture "Guardians, go!" (1987)
In the new, XXI century, Svetlana Druzhinina works on the series of the film “Secrets of Palace Revolutions”, demonstrating her deep gift in the field of directing and cinema. /
