In 1999 Vitaly Mansky presented the painting "Private Chronicles. Monologue". This film was assembled from frames of amateur films of the 60-80s collected by directors throughout the country.
Mansky managed to establish himself as a scandalous director. His film The Body of Lenin (1992) caused a tantrum with the details of the care of the chief's mummy. The film “Slices of another war” (1995) was shocked by the fact that in the frames of the military chronicle in it were mounted shots from a porn film. Finally, "Private Chronicles: A Monologue" caused an itchy and chorus of rebukes from fellow professionals. Mansky was accused of making a pseudo-documentary film dishonestly manipulating other people’s shootings by other people’s fates by creating his film.
Since 1999 Vitaly Mansky is working on the television project "Real Cinema" and heads the Department of Documentary Projects of the state TV channel "Russia-RTR" overseeing all documentary production of the television company.
Member of the Non-Fiction Film Commission of the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and Vice-President of the Guild of Non-Fiction Cinema and Television.
