Since the age of nineteen, Valeria-Gai starred in films. In 2005 she studied in the workshop of Marina Razbezhkina School of Film and Television “Internews”. At the same time, she made two documentaries – “Sisters” and “Girls”.
The following year, the documentary film "Girls" at the festival "Kinotavr" was awarded the prize for the best short film, and at the festival "Cinema.doc", in the same year, she was awarded the main prize. In 2006, Valeria together with Khlebnikov made a documentary film “Left”, and in 2007 – “Boys” and “Birthday Infanta”. The short film “The Birthday of the Infanta” entered the main competition at the Kinotavr festival.
