Anatoly A. Fradis is a Soviet and American actor, director, producer and entrepreneur. Anatoly Adolfovich (September 26, 1948) is a native of Odessa, a representative of the third generation of the cinematic family. His grandfather Akiva Fradis was one of the founders of a film studio in Odessa in 1919, then, starting in 1933, his father Adolf began working at the same film studio, who acted as a director on such films as Mysterious Island (1941), Two Fedoras "Hot Snow," "My gentle and gentle beast."

Anatoly Fradis gained all-Union fame at a very young age, starring in the film.

In 1966, after the family moved to Moscow, he graduated from the Shchepkin Theatre School, and later the Higher Courses of Screenwriters and Directors, and worked as a director at the Mosfilm film studio, until in 1979 he left for permanent residence in the United States.
In America, he worked as a promoter and impresario, mainly promoting Russian and Eastern European paintings to the American market. Since 1987, his company AFRA Film Enterprises has been cooperating with Mosfilm, acting as a kind of link between Mosfilm and American and Canadian production companies. Since 1990, Fradis has become one of the largest suppliers of American films to the USSR, selling about 60 films a year to Russia. Fradis also invests in film production himself and owns or manages several business companies ranging from film distribution to construction and management.
