He was born on September 15, 1925. He studied painting at the Academy of Arts in Bologna when he awakened a passion for studying electromechanics and the musculature of the human body.
His first film work was the creation of a fire-breathing dragon in the fantasy film Siegfried in 1957, and since 1963, Ramboldi has become a full-fledged specialist in special effects, working with leading Italian directors – Fellini, Pasolini, Argento and many others.
In 1976, he performed as a master of special effects on the film.
King Kong He created a life-size figure of King Kong and won his first Oscar for this work. Carlo also worked on Ridley Scott’s Alien and was also awarded an Academy Award.
The recognized film master died on August 10, 2012.
