Stephen Robert Irvine (22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006) was a popular Australian naturalist, television journalist and author of numerous wildlife films such as The Crocodile Hunter, Crok Files, and The Crocodile Hunter Diaries. The owner of the Australia Zoo in Birwah, Queensland. He died on September 4, 2006 on the set of another TV show, receiving a fatal blow to the stingray in the heart. [1] On the occasion of his death, a national funeral was organized, and the day of his death in Australia is considered a day of mourning.
