Carell first appeared on the stage at the age of six, when first-graders put on a performance for Thanksgiving. The boy was also fond of hockey, he defended the gates of his team. Carrell attended Fenn School and then Middlesex School. During his studies, he danced in the university team, played in lacrosse teams in Ohio, Granville and Concord.
Initially, Carrell dreamed of a career as a radio announcer, then wanted to become a lawyer, eventually choosing the profession of an actor. But before that, he had to work in Littleton as a postman. In 1999, Carrel in the Chicago troupe was a double, in the same year he starred in an episode in “Curly Sue”.
From 1999 to 2004, he worked as a correspondent for The John Stewart Show. In 2005, he played Michael Scott on the television show The Office.
