Born on November 22, 1942 in Irkutsk.
In 1964 he graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theatre School at the Maly Theatre (the course of teachers V.I. Korshunov, Yu.M. Solomin, P.Z. Bogatyrenko).
In 1964-1965 he worked at the Malaya Bronnaya Theatre, then moved to the Stanislavsky Theatre.
In a group of like-minded actors, he played Vladimir Ivanovich in the play by V. Slavkin “Serso” on the stage of the only nascent theater “School of Dramatic Art”.
Since 1979 - actor of the Maly Theatre.
People's Artist of Russia.
Laureate of the Russian State Prize.
