Gordon Ramsay is a Scottish-born British chef.
Ramsay is from the Scottish town of Johnstone, but due to the rapid commercial activities of his father, he spent his childhood in regular moving, until the family settled in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1976. Gordon became seriously interested in football and already from the age of twelve played for the team of the town of Warwickshire in the youth category.
At the age of eighteen, Ramsay was invited to play with the Rangers club, but a subsequent meniscus injury on his left leg led to the end of his further football career.
After graduation, Gordon made a spontaneous decision to go to college, teaching restaurant and hotel management. When it became clear that the leg injury was incompatible with a career in sports, he became involved in cooking.
Two years later, Ramsay moved to Le Gavroche, Britain’s first three-star cafe. In 1998, he opened his first restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road, which received three stars in 2001.
In 1998, Gordon Ramsay made his television debut in the project Boiling Point, which was a series of television essays about the role of the restaurant in the life of a chef. After the success of this small series, the second part called “After the Boiling Point” was released.
In 2004, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares aired on Channel 4. Three years later, the American version of the project was broadcast on Fox. The concept of the show remained the same, the main difference being that the cafes in the program were American. In addition to television, Gordon Ramsay has appeared in several films, such as
Hell's kitchen and "The Kitchen of Love."
Despite the fact that Ramsay became known to the general public as a chef with a straightforward and explosive disposition, which can often be very rude and indivisible, according to colleagues, this was only his style of management.
