Adultery through vows of loyalty and love, nights in damp police stations under the supervision of nefarious cops, drugs. All these are attributes of the life of a rock musician, more like the rules that Randy Rhoads would break. But one thing is clear: they are not primarily associated with the geniuses of soul and rhythm and blues. Ray Charles, as well as Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, and many others, is known not for a crook with Elvis postulates in his head, but for a gentleman in a suit, a smiling guy who resembles an aristocrat, not a heroine and a womanizer. In the evenings he sat down at the piano, and a concert hall or half-bad club in the backwoods of America turned into an eternal “Appolo”, eternal Harlem in the backyard, where rampant fun and universal love reign. He made people happy by taking less than a dollar off every record he sold... and with it, his life. No one knew the tragic fate of man. No one saw her - only Ray himself saw everything with his hands, ears or shoes on a hard sole, and left people with a human shield mutilated eyes behind sunglasses. And it seems that for this ungrateful life he saw only grief, pain, poverty and contempt. Isn’t that a reason to stop?
The fate of the legend starts from the very bottom, there is nowhere worse - the Negro among the Negroes, where "only the earth is below." A mother is forced for a couple of bucks to endure all the hardships of a mercenary bondage on a colored woman in an eternally intolerant Georgia. Total outsiders. His brother tragically dies in a pelvis with water, and a little boy, almost yesterday learned to rattle on keys thanks to a local apothecary, forever condemns himself to self-flagellation. He did not save George, and now the ghosts of the past will be reminiscent of psychic attacks as the floor under his feet turns into a pond. And the heartbreaking hysteria of the mother, for whom the child is the only hope, and the resulting blindness with blue eyes that have not had time to look at the world. Everything collapses overnight and there is something behind the bottom. Learning to memorize the steps and listening to the kettle is now a guarantee of survival. And listen to Aretha Robinson, because your mother will love you even after a fatal tragedy. “Don’t let anyone ruin your life,” “You may be blind, but you’re not stupid,” “I’m proud of you” – she truly believes in Ray’s worthy future. A blind black boy from a racist state. The viewer can only guess how much rabble and rot did not enter the picture of Taylor Hackford in the end. Surely for the show would have to stretch the timekeeping to peplum.
Time will tell how right my mother was. Every piece of advice is invaluable. No one will be able to forgive you for your sins. Survive and don’t let anyone hurt you. Although at first he has no right to the name: he is no longer Ray Robinson, because Sugar Ray Robinson is not kicked off the pedestal of fame. You have to be Ray Charles. You have to live in alleyways and cheap lodgings, spin with stickers and small limited musicians. Quincy Jones is not yet the producer of the album “Thriller”, and Art Tatum is a major league, out of reach. You have to go through the thorns to the stars and seventeen Grammys. Hard and thankless work, riddled with lies about participating in the war for a seat on the bus and salary in dollar bills. Every second “colleague” tries to fool the blind for the sake of selfish conquests. He doesn't say anything, he walks on stilts and with an ironing board under his shirt.
Meanwhile, the era does not stand still. The 37 years at Ray span an eventful period in U.S. history. World War II, the rise of rock and roll and the record industry, television and radio broadcasting, anti-segregation protests, Nixon in the White House – Ray Charles grew up and crepe in these troubled times. At a time when Fats Domino is no longer fashionable, but John Coltrane has the utmost respect. What do we do? Contrary to the popular thesis in the film, Ray Charles was not an orthodox jazz pianist, and in his genres there are enough famous masters. It’s not just in jazz that you can be yourself. The boring dogma of being special is the guiding star of a virtuoso. In order for him to be able to think about money and earn money, he should write “What’d I Say” and “I Got a Woman.” Songs with epithets "sexy" and "blasphemous" - that's what young people want on the beaches in exchange for morbid church gospels. And let the moralists grumble! This guy from Georgia was able to become his board for a multimillion-dollar army of music lovers. He understood the desire of the public, rattling with tearful vocals for people of any race. And when it was time to enjoy the well-deserved status, he still continued - let them go through country, labels and get rich from this.
But even after the news about drugs and prison, the scandalous episode in Georgia that led to a ban on concerts, no one could know Ray Charles Robinson, exactly from his "You Don't Know Me." You really can’t get the words out of the song. While America is twisting to his hits, Ray is left alone – in a hopeless cave of loneliness, where no female caresses, no applause and applause of the crowd will get. A million times gifted, who have achieved success through hard work, will not give happiness at home in Beverly Hills and convertibles. And his son's baseball success. What is the meaning of material images? Only drugs can ignite the cauldron of fantasy. After the dose, you can continue to endure the hardships and deprivations of blind existence. But until when will this continue? It is not enough not to trade and prick yourself when you set a bad, destructive example. When friends and mistresses turn into shit with leaky veins, you realize that this is how you mutilate. What my mother denied. Ray doesn't work hard and hit the notes at serious speeds, he has to say, "Hit the road, drugs, and don't you come back no more." So that history does not end in a personal tragedy – and at the same time, a tragedy of an entire country.
Taylor Hackford did not show in Ray the second half of the life of the legend, and the first places seriously cut. It hardly fits the purpose of this biopic – one of the most inspiring films of the XXI century. Ray Charles Robinson, brilliantly played (including piano) by Jamie Foxx, has come a thousand times harder than for any healthy person. And the screen, we understand, does not collect half of the real experiences of the hero. He didn't see his life, but we did. And we understood what strength, love and work mean.
Ray Charles died shortly before the film premiered. Sleep well, tramp. Let’s hope you have bright dreams.
When you think about the cool biogphies of musicians, Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious, Freddie Mercury, in short, rockers immediately come to mind. And jazz stars all lived purely according to the precepts of the American Dream. But the Ray Charles biopic changed my perception of the singers of the '50s.
Plot. This is the story of the life of a great musician. You have to look. In it, you will learn how a blind guy in racist America managed to become the No. 1 singer. He conquered dozens of women even though he didn’t see them. About his complicated addiction, about the problems with the labels that tried to deceive him. How despised even his own... In this film, you will learn the story of Hit the Road Jack. I learned and crazy, after this film you look at this song differently.
I still want to give the film a plus for the atmosphere. The historical context was perfectly recreated. You believe what you see on the screen, which means that the decorators are great.
Acting. James Fox did his part 100%. If you look at Charles' facial expressions, his manner of movements and interviews, you can see that Fox copied everything perfectly. You can see he tried. Carrie Washington played the role of the wife of the great singer. You really believe in them.
Another plus for this incredible music and the detailed story of each song. After watching the movie, your playlist will be updated 100%.
Over. This is a powerful, inspiring and interesting film that I recommend to everyone to watch.
I got a woman, way over town... That's good to me, oh yeah!
This film is an exemplary biopic, unquestioningly telling about a truly legendary musician, a performer who made an invaluable contribution to the development of the music industry of the 20th century. Among other things, Ray Charles is a significant personality, whose life illustrates the brightest example of the ups and downs, strength of character and the destructive influence of bad habits.
The film very informatively covers the main events of the life of the great singer, pointing to his most important hits, which at one time sounded from all the irons. It is worth noting that Jamie Foxx, who played the main role, showed himself at the highest level, amazingly depicting the unique movements, facial expressions and habits of Ray. During the musical fragments of the film, Jamie himself sang Charles' songs (although in the final version of the film, the viewer mostly hears Ray's original voice), the actor also has a successful musical career. It is thanks to this incomparable transformation into the image of the main character that this film work turned out to be so sincere, lively and morally instructive.
In this regard, given the biographical genre of the tape, I want to single it out among others. For example, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is not next to the picture under consideration, inferior in both plot and semantic plans. “Ray” truly uncompromisingly, life-giving and original revealed the character of the eminent musical artist, illustrating without conceal the important time periods of the formation of the main character and showing him as alive and vulnerable as possible.
As a result, this cinematic work is a benchmark in the biographical genre, differing favorably from similar paintings by sincere breadth, moralizing depth and humanistic height.
Ray Charles is a great star in the American musical sky. He is an amazing musician, brilliant producer, brave man and rebel who has made a significant contribution to music around the world. But most importantly, it is an endlessly contradictory personality with its own sufferings and reasons for happiness.
Ray lived a surprisingly bright life. At the beginning of the film, a scene is shown where he fraudulently reaches Seattle, and this already shows us his adventurous spirit. He managed to rise from poverty to owning the largest mansion in his area, he managed to overcome drug addiction, face racism and confront it. But the red thread throughout his life was the one thing that pulled him up - the love of music. What brought him true freedom, what he lived for, what gave him light in the darkness of blindness. And music loved him. There was a genius in the world.
Now the movie. It is incredibly enchanting, bright, interesting, dynamic and very tasty. He shows us dance-smoking bars, colorful and not very images of African-American girls on stage, the production world of music show business. And at the same time, we return to the tragic story of Ray’s childhood, shrouded in poverty and unhappiness, cohesion and everyday wisdom. A wonderful image of Aretha, Ray's mother, is created in the film. And of course, you can’t help but cry during the episodes when Ray started going blind. It was very heartbreaking.
I loved all the actors, but not highlighting Jamie Foxx is a crime in this case. The Oscar received by the actor is well deserved. He gave 100%, and confidently conquered even the most critical viewer with his game.
In this film you will cry and laugh, dance and think, admire and be disappointed, sing and be silent. After the movie, you’ll be listening to a lot of Ray. Do you want to experience all of this?
Look at this. Check it out.
It turns out that when the movie Bomba, there are not enough words. I don't know if it's a movie. But here is the first option
This is another vivid and wonderful example of the biography of Idol music, set out in a feature film. After all, good feature films give more emotions than documentaries. This is exactly the case here.
And the music of Ray Charles super, and hits he gave chic, one of the few colleagues in style. Although, in style, Ray had no colleagues or rivals, because he was the first.
Who makes the world better? Who's changing it? Who makes the change?
Revolutionaries. Those who have done what they have not done before.
And we have a revolutionary. And a very interesting person.
A film is a must for creative people, especially musicians, and anyone who needs inspiration.
Yeah, there's drama here without it. It seems that in the real biography, the drama is much more than in invented scenarios.
This movie is wonderful. Plus, incendiary music.
The director of “The Devil’s Advocate” Taylor Hackford offers the audience an exciting musical story about the fate of a very difficult and really good man – although it is difficult to understand at once – the story of the ascent of the legend of R’n’B, soul, country and jazz – Ray Charles. Overcoming the psychological trauma and guilt for the accidental death of his younger brother, as well as the blindness that followed it, getting through the lies of dishonest producers, quarrels with his wife and mistresses, the fight against drug addiction, the betrayal of loved ones who changed their attitude with the growth of social status, Ray Charles Robinson managed to achieve the widest recognition, conquering millions of listeners with his music and songs.
Sadly, Ray Charles died on June 10, 2004, just months before Taylor Hackford's film premiered. Perhaps that is why, when the finale of the picture is supplemented by the frames of the chronicle, the artistic and documentary realities come together and the ending becomes surprisingly close to real life, close to the viewer, revealing to him an understanding of the complexity and depth of the inner world of talented and outstanding creative people.
We can assume that the audience from among our compatriots, the film about the great American jazzman, even in the masterful performance of Jamie Fox, will not be too interesting, since jazz traditions in our country are rather exotic, but we should not forget that the language of music is universal, especially music as bright, sensual and passionate as the music of Ray Charles, listening to which you will think in truth that “perhaps geniuses are often tempted by the most cunning demons.”
The story of Ray Charles on the screen is beautiful and it’s not even in the bright colors, music, predictable complexities of the life of a star who is blind, confused with girls and does not part with a set of needles. I always imagined this person to be completely different, during the viewing I even snuck off, looked at old records and photos with him. The director chose for the role of Ray a man who not only does not look like the real Charles, but is his opposite. It would seem, from the point of view of the reliability of the image, this move is fundamentally wrong, but it turned out that this idea is genius.
Of course, Ray Charles was a tough man, blindness left a colossal imprint on his formation (blind at 7), I think that changed not for the better, made even more unbearable. On the screen, we see a quite kind boy by nature, who is morally crippled by life. And all that is in it from the real Ray Charles, it all comes out at a break, all those unpleasant moments — terrible scenes with family, girls, friends, it all looks kind of unnatural. Such an original approach on the part of the director is very interesting and makes you think.
The "Hit a Road Jack" scene is really powerful, and the memories of a desperate mom make an impression. The film is quite long, but this does not make it annoying, on the contrary, you appreciate these extra minutes, you are upset that there are not enough of them. American pathos, of course, sometimes appears, but very dosed and predictable. In general, the film is beautiful, memorable, has not watched anything relatively new that could be shared without looking at the topic, taste and mood.
Hollywood’s love for biographical films about great musicians has been known since ancient times and does not fade to this day. The fates of famous people have always attracted figures of world cinema, because their lives are a vast material for creating a quality film. This tape has an interesting backstory. For many years, Taylor Hackford was looking for a large studio ready to finance the production of the film, but he was catastrophically unlucky. None of the major players in the market wanted this project. But the not discouraged director showed steadfastness and managed to implement his project as an independent film, outside the framework of Hollywood pavilions. And it has borne fruit. The film has earned recognition and received a number of prestigious awards.
The film tells about the life of one of the greatest American jazz singers, pianists and composers Ray Charles. Having lost his sight at the age of seven, he learned to live with his illness and discovered a remarkable musical talent. This allowed him to live a full life, but it also played a cruel joke with him, but more on that later. The film is based on Charles' autobiography under the title "Brother Ray". Covering a significant chunk of the musician’s life, the tape depicts the period from 1930 to 1966. We are shown the path of the famous singer, his ascent to glory. It all echoes childhood memories, it's the most emotional part of the film. In general, the tape has a very smooth narrative and does not offer any dizzying techniques.
In addition to the main storyline about the ascent of the main character to the musical top, the tape touches on extensive issues. It shows that even a famous person can not maintain psychological balance, and therefore sit tight on drugs, and at the same time does not even want to hear about treatment. For as Ray himself says, “You have no idea what a man who lives in the darkness he fears feels.” This phrase shows the inner world of the character and allows you to understand him at least a little. In addition, having a loving family, he constantly arranges love affairs on the side, exposing himself in a bad light. And the relationship between him and his friends and colleagues shows us that no one is unique. All this is shown in detail and in detail. There's a place and a theme of racism, but it's not as developed. A lot of musical numbers and songs that will appeal to fans of this style.
But the picture has a number of problems that cannot be ignored. First of all, it is a long time, sometimes it is even good, as it allows you to better reveal the story and heroes. But it doesn't work here, it's too monotonous, it makes it a little boring. In addition, there are several tearful moments in the film, inserted specifically to influence impressionable viewers, sometimes it is difficult to notice, but here it is too deliberate.
Jamie Foxx has prepared very carefully for his role. He attended classes for the blind and thoroughly studied the behavior of the musician. He perfectly got used to the image and managed to perfectly reproduce the strange behavior of Ray Charles, his facial expressions, gestures and constant breakages. It won him an Oscar, although in my opinion it is far from the best role in his career.
Ray is a biographical musical drama based on the life of a great musician. It allows us to take a closer look at this man’s life and trace his journey from a young blind boy from a poor family to a world-class star. The picture has a number of drawbacks, sometimes the action sags and becomes boring, but in general it is a good film.

- You have no idea what it feels like to live in the darkness you fear.
I’m pretty familiar with Ray Charles’ work, but this movie passed me by. Somehow it became even more interesting when I learned that the film adaptation of his biography is considered a very good film and is rated quite high on KinoPoisk. And now it's time to find out what Ray Charles was like off stage.
The film tells about the life of the famous American performer in the genre of jazz Ray Charles. Here are two storylines, one of which appears in flashbacks. Namely, Ray's childhood, when he began to lose his sight and learn to live again. The second line tells about the beginning of his career, the rise to fame, as well as the family life of the great musician.
I've seen a lot of biographies. Some good, some not so good. I cannot say that they are all very different from each other. Whether in Hollywood writers work on the same template, or the path of celebrities to fame is really monotonous. It also happened in this movie. Childhood in poverty, tragic loss, working from the bottom up, etc. This is an identical template for the biography of all famous musicians significant for the history.
The plot is fascinating from the first minutes. At first there is a small introduction and a brief acquaintance with the main character. Then the story smoothly rocks, gradually throwing new details and introducing a secondary storyline. This is probably one of the few cases where flashbacks really have a strong influence on the main story and look very organic in the overall context. Of course, I would like to see an epic ending, but alas, the creators of the film decided to make the finale oiled.
The Oscars are cool, and for me the presence of statuettes in the film does not play a special role. But for all eternity I agree with the Academy, and in this case, the Oscars are really deserved. Jamie Foxx just incredibly smart got used to the role, and pulled everything out of this image. This is exactly the case when the actor is given the role completely and the viewer believes him. Before that, only Robert Downey Jr. as Charlie Chaplin existed for me in this incarnation. Now I admire Jamie Foxx.
Great story, amazing music and incredible acting. Highest grade. Watch everyone!
“You don’t know what it feels like to be living in the darkness he’s afraid of.” – Ray Charles in Jamie Foxx
Long before the start of filming the biopic Ray, its director, screenwriter and producer Taylor Hackford acquired the rights to the film adaptation of the autobiography Brother Ray, telling about the life and career of the outstanding musician, composer and songwriter Ray Charles Robinson, better known as simply Ray Charles, who became blind at seven years old, but made a revolution in music. But Hackfod couldn't find funding for his project and had to postpone it. And only after he shot several successful films, including “The Devil’s Advocate” with the impeccable play of Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves, Hackford was able to afford to remove “long-term”, investing his own capital there. Hardly once he regretted it: a heap of prestigious awards and nominations, critical acclaim, audience love and more than three times the profit at the world box office. “The drama Ray is one of the outstanding biopics in the history of cinema!”
But let’s be fair, saying that all the flattering epithets film Taylor Hackford could not get, but the main role was invited to Jamie Foxx and this gentleman is worth dwelling on in more detail. To get his first notable role in the sports drama Every Sunday, Fox helped him to study American football and he seriously considered a sports career. In the case of Ray, Fox was chosen not only because of his resemblance to the prototype, but because the future actor took piano lessons from the age of five (in Ray, Fox played all the piano episodes without the help of understudy). And he excelled in music, too. In preparation for the role, Fox did a great job: he studied the literacy of the blind, visited them in hospitals, forced makeup artists on the set to “convert” themselves into an unseeing person. The result was awards in the world of cinema, including the Oscar for Best Actor, while Jamie Foxx had almost no competitors.
Throughout the more than two-hour film, I have never doubted that I am the real Ray Charles, not the actor who embodies his image. For those who imagine themselves to be great actors, it is necessary to take the example of Jamie Foxx and adopt the Stanislavsky system. It is worth clarifying that "Ray" does not cover the entire biography of the outstanding musician, while shooting Ray Charles was still alive (died shortly before the premiere). The range of events showcased in the film spans a thirty-year period, from how Ray Charles landed his first job at a bent club to how the musician became a popular favorite and voice of the era. Mentioned in the film and the childhood of Ray Charles, shown in the mode of “flashbacks”. And during this time, the viewer will have time to get acquainted with how the character of Ray Charles, who was strongly influenced by his mother and the tragic death of his younger brother, will see what relationship he was associated with his second wife, what he had with backing vocalists, his problems with drugs and what work Ray Charles made his way to fame.
But there are always two sides to the coin: while Jamie Foxx has played his best role so far, the other side has outshone all the other players in the game. Glorious Kerry Washington, who played the love of his life Ray - his second wife Bee, caused sympathy, it is impossible to live with such a person, but to cause still such deep emotions as Jamie Foxx, the actress could not. You get a little more from Regina King as Margie Hendrix, one of Ray Charles' backup vocalists, who is associated with one of the strongest biopic scenes when King is upset when recording a new song. And this scene only emphasizes the charisma and talent of Ray Charles, along with his selfishness and pig behavior. Have you noticed that Jamie Foxx is mentioned less frequently than Ray Charles? And this is all because the actor played in such a way that it is impossible to distinguish him from the prototype. I know that I have already said this, but I think we need to stress it again. By the way, Jamie Foxx, inspired by the work of Ray Charles recorded two cover versions of his songs in duets with rappers Kanye West and Ludacris.
Ray turned out to be a stunning biopic. I think that any self-respecting musician whose work has influenced the development of art will want him to have his own "Jamie Foxx", just as beautifully embodies the image. Jamie Foxx himself deservedly received his Oscar, but eclipsed all the others from the acting ensemble. But apart from Jamie Foxx, there’s another thing that’s thrilling about the movie: the great music of Ray Charles. This biopic should be seen by everyone. Even those who do not like biopics, those who do not like jazz and those who doubt the talent of Jamie Foxx.

The film from the very beginning does not want to injure the viewer, relegating the music to the background and showing only the biographical and heavy story of the musician, no, the picture is more like a roller coaster with sharp descents and ascents, you will witness both sad and happy events of Ray Charles, the legendary musician. The attitude of the viewer to the film can be biased, but the picture is worth watching, albeit for the sake of replenishing the "cinema reserve", although it is obvious that the director's idea is much more global, which is commendable, since initially Taylor Hackfort had no resources to carry out the project, had to "walk around the yards" so that there were resources, and most importantly it was necessary to buy the rights, rights to the film adaptation. After some time, the director succeeds, and you, as a full-fledged viewer, can judge the picture yourself, and you will also enjoy knowing how the most famous hits of the musician came to light, but the whole way, the way of Ray Charles, will be shown by mosaics, and you must collect everything bit by bit to fully understand the film.
As in the math challenge from point A to point B, the viewer will witness Ray Charles’ journey, a journey that began with a bus and a journey between wheat fields, the Road of Ray. Especially pleasing is the fact that the story about music and the musician is accompanied by beautiful compositions by Craig Armstrong. And here! The final point of Seattle’s arrival, as negligent newcomer Ray Charles tries to break through not to fame, but to the recognition of his music, but there will be the principle of “either play or get out”, what to do, you will have to go with the flow. Going with the flow, but that doesn't mean succumbing to cheating and cheating, no, that's not what Ray's gonna hate, and then goodbye to Seattle. Of course, not without luck, because not always one talent is enough if fortune does not smile. It's hard to promote talent, but it's even harder to remember the past, which can be a hindrance to beauty, to music. Ray relives the details of his past at different moments of the film, sometimes they are very depressing, and sometimes nothing can motivate as much as the "sounds of the past."
Surprisingly stunningly, Taylor Hackfort changes the style he used in The Devil's Advocate and makes the viewer forget that he is the director of such a gloomy picture and presents the story of a musician, the story of Ray Charles, a story filled with both sad and happy elements, more than two hours of year-old storytelling. For these achievements, Taylor Hackfort can only be praised, he does not distort the story, through labor he received the right to the film adaptation of the great composer and certainly successfully completed his task, recruiting talented people in his team, in his endeavor. The director shows not only the life of a famous musician, but also along the way reveals the story of a blind man who was able to adapt to this world, the necessary flashbacks complement this part of the story, also shows not only the initial path of Ray Charles, but also the middle and peak of his career, even in the best years of Ray (meaning creative success), the musician experienced a personal tragedy, fought with drugs, with his “demons” and for this bravo to Taylor Hackfort, for much needed and important episodes.
Ears replace my eyes, everything sounds different in this world. In order not to depend on anyone, you have to learn quickly.
Is the image of Ray Charles well represented? It is conveyed as much as the abilities of Jamie Foxx, who is certainly a talented actor, in the film he demonstrates the necessary elements of drama and the necessary emotions, all individually for each life situation in which the composer was. Jamie Foxx does not cheat and plays at the proper level, in a word, at the Oscars.
Motivation of the film to show the right story, to make it as believable as possible, but to do it more through a feature film, not a documentary and this idea certainly works. The picture takes you to the right moments of history by carving out excess. Triumph and tragedy, love and bitterness, success and failure are shown. The film is definitely worth attention, also pleased with the history of melodies, which probably many “burned”, such melodies as “Hit The Road Jack”.
Review of "Briefly on the main"

P.S. Dedicated to all of my friends at CinemaPosyka who love music.
Movies about music are impossible not to like. Music is a great force that has united people throughout human history. Thanks to freedom in the arts, people could protest despite censorship. It is through music that change can be achieved.
In the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century, the movement for equal rights to freedom began. Through changes in policy and conscious citizens, all Coloreds were given equal civil rights. This was achieved not least due to the significant contribution of African Americans to the culture of the United States, namely music.
Black people gave this world such genres of music as jazz, blues, rap, hip-hop, soul, rhythm and blues, reggae, funk, gospel ... the list goes on and on. Today, the music of these genres is world-famous, and once songs in these styles protested against discrimination, it lifted the spirit of the disadvantaged, it was the embodiment of hope to fight for their rights.
Biographical drama "Ray" by Taylor Hackford tells about one of the musicians of the time - Ray Charles. Ray Charles is a man who at first glance has no future, he is a young black man, he is blind, he is poor and lives in a difficult time when people like him are despised.
Only thanks to his talent and caring people, he could earn a living, declare himself to the world and receive the recognition of which he wanted.
I was pleased in this film that the authors did not distort the facts from the life of the musician and showed everything as close as possible to real events. They also picked up the role of R. Charles popular nowadays musician Jamie Foxx, who even looks like a young Ray Charles. Jamie Foxx played into the hands of the film as he was able to play all the music live he also played the role of his character. As Lyon Feuchtwanger said, he is a talented man in all fields.
In general, there is nothing to complain about in this film. Purely with a boundless love of music and a high spirit after watching this film, I give him an appreciation that does not exist in nature.

The film-biography of the famous American musician Ray Charles, which before watching I did not know. Well, it happens. Apparently, once the film very intrigued me with its ratings, and I added it to my list.
I'll tell you right away, it's good. Well shot, amazingly played, sound, editing, costumes - great. Despite the fact that I am not familiar with the work of Ray Charles, it was very easy and quite interesting, although the film is not short.
On the other hand, I didn’t like the fact that the creators focused on one positive side of the musician (in fact, his music) and, as I thought, on all negatives. It turned out that Ray Charles was an immoral type who had nothing sacred but music. Although, judging by the last shots of the film, there was something going on, and I was slightly incomprehensible why its kind and generous side was almost completely ignored. Only hints remained on them, which were not supported by actions at all.
Jamie Foxx amazed me. Change the gait, voice, manner of speaking, plus play the piano yourself. This is a great job, I think Oscar deserves it. I really liked the other actors too. In general, the film is very harmonious, whole, bright and energetic, despite the fact that the events in it are far from the most joyful.

For a long time, the film's title itself has been associated with a benefit by Jamie Foxx and an Oscar for this particular role as a blind musician. And you do not need to see live performances of the cult in the USA Ray Charles to appreciate the acting performance of Fox in this image. He had to betray not only the peculiar habits of a blind person, but also the quirks of a creative person, and then a drug addict. In many ways, it is on the main character that interest in everything that happens is kept, because you do not cease to notice interesting finds of the filmmakers and the actor-performer.
Before us is a musical biopic, covering forty years from the life of one of the most famous musicians of the XX century, and it is not only about the United States. From a poor boy from Georgia who was blind at the age of seven, to a cult personality whose music was heard by millions of people. To be fair, it is worth noting that music plays an important formative role. So if for you this topic and the specific genres in which Charles became famous, something far away that the lion's share of interest will be lost. This happened to me, because I was trying to focus on the main character as a person. In this sense, his greatness coexisted with a fall in his personal life and addiction to hard drugs.
It is worth noting the approximate quality of the production with an emphasis on recreating the specific bar atmosphere of the 1950-1960s. We’ll spend most of our time in recording studios and restaurants where Ray’s star became a piano. Important importance in the film, especially in the first quarter, is given to the topic of racial segregation, because the main character was a native of the conservative southern state of Georgia. For all its merits, the picture seemed to me inevitably drawn out and in places repeating itself over and over again. There is a lack of creative diversity, although it is worth watching this film at least once, especially for fans of biographical dramas.

Ray Charles's songs are melodic, beautiful, going back to a time long gone. They are associated with the stormy American fifties, the flourishing of jazz, sentimental mood.
The film turned out to be informative, because this performer did not have to watch a biographical film or read articles. I only knew the music.
Easy shot. This is a big plus for tapes of this kind - looks with interest, the plot is dynamic. It tells the story of a grown-up Charles, who gets on his feet as a serious performer, as he encounters a variety of people and situations. Despite the fact that almost all the actors were black, it was nice to watch. Ray's compositions came in handy. The film is quite musical.
Sometimes there were scenes about Charles' childhood. About how he lost his sight. I liked that the filmmakers were able to show the singer as a strong personality, who, despite his blindness, did not give up, and, moreover, became a world-famous star. There was no speculation of emotions, squeezing tears and other not very honest things that are often resorted to in biographical stories. The audience was simply shown an excerpt from the life of a famous person, having managed to highlight the main thing and not spend timekeeping on “water”.
I liked the phrase that Ray’s mother said and which could well become the motto of this tape: “You will go blind, but you will not become stupid.”
Perhaps there are people who do not know the face of the legendary musician Ray Charles, but his almost the most popular composition “Hit the Road Jack”, which he performed more than fifty years ago, knows absolutely everyone.
The film "Ray" is a biographical drama about the fate of the famous American jazz singer, pianist and composer Ray Charles.
Ray is one of the few films in which you can find everything: the story of the ascent of the legend of jazz, extraordinary talent, racial segregation, lying managers, mistresses-back singers, drugs, money, true love, and of course music. Despite his inferiority (blindness), Ray Charles took everything he wanted from life without denying himself anything - the girl he later married, the best recording studios, the best musicians, mistresses, money, luxury and even drugs, in which he found solace. If you pay attention to the plot, it intersects two contrasting storylines (childhood and maturity). The picture of the colorful and bright childhood of the musician - greenery, fields, farm, mother, poverty and the picture of taking drugs - a trembling hand, dark tones, a sense of suffering and oppression of the environment. Throughout the film, Ray feels guilty for the death of his younger brother, but in the final scene, he is led to do something he didn’t do once, trying to pull him out of a pelvis filled with water. “He’s not there,” says his mother, who guides him to the right path with the same truth that begins the film – “Never let anyone control you,” now she said “don’t let drugs control you.” He sees his brother who forgives him everything. It was a turning point in the life of the brilliant musician, since then he never abused drugs again.
Jamie Foxx is certainly his best role, he exactly repeated all the movements, all the twitches of Ray Charles, if you look at his performances and compare it with Fox’s play – you can’t tell. I think without Fox this film would not be so touching and realistic.
Solo, jazz, rhythm and blues accompany us throughout the film, all this will appeal to every viewer, the compositions make the film alive, this is for sure. The atmosphere of the film is transmitted with accuracy to the details, there is nothing to complain about.
The film is really beautiful, a film that will not be forgotten. A movie that you enjoy watching. “Ray” will be interesting not only for those who are fond of the musician’s work, jazz lovers, but also for people far from such topics, so I think that “Ray” is undoubtedly a must-watch.

- Don't feel sorry for my blindness. How can I feel sorry for someone I admire?
To my shame, I was only recently seriously interested in the work of the unique Ray Charles. Of course, I’ve heard some songs before (perhaps most often it was Hit The Road Jack), but it was only superficial. However, now... Probably, admiration for really worthwhile music really does not come immediately.
It was because of a closer acquaintance with the musician that I decided to watch this film. I found him a long time ago, but everyone “did not reach” him. Bad. She could have calmed her soul with these amazing tunes much earlier.
And finally, as I come closer to the film, I have to first define what I admire: music. The soundtrack is amazing. I would like to add more songs or the history of their creation – I would be happy. It is a pity that so few of his tracks were chosen. But each was a delight for the starving "feeling beautiful."
The story of little Ray and his younger brother George hooked, and in particular - eerily similar to the reality of visions of an already adult Ray Charles. After the death of his brother, impending blindness became another blow to the immature mind of the child, which is not given to everyone to curb. However, he was able and achieved unimaginable heights.
All the complexity of this path we deservedly showed Jamie Foxx, the actor I know so far from a very small number of films, but with each tape I watched, I increasingly admire his talent to fully get used to the role and devote myself to it.
This time I stand in absolute solidarity with the members of the Academy for their choice – Jamie Fox for best actor and, of course, best sound. This movie is definitely worth watching.
To be honest, I didn’t know much about singer Ray Charles before watching this movie. I saw him on TV a couple of times, and I heard his name. I had no idea about the music he played. About what he was a man, how he lived and what he achieved, of course, I did not know. I didn't even know he was blind. From this phrase, I can say that I knew nothing about this man. Watching this movie, I was amazed and discovered the genius of Ray Charles. I watched the film in one breath, although it goes two and a half hours, but how cool and interesting it is made, that for such a long time you do not have time to get tired of it, and completely immerse yourself in the world of Ray Charles.
Ray Charles is a brilliant man. As they say, geniuses are not born, but become. God took away his eyes, but gave him exceptional hearing, a talent that he developed and multiplied. In order for talent to become a genius, it takes a lot of hard work and hard work, which is what Ray Charles did. How much he worked and invested in his works, and in the film it is well shown. He lived his music, completely immersed in it, sometimes forgetting people close to him, thereby hurting them. Yes, he did bad things, and he didn't live by the rules, but he tried to correct the mistakes he made. Some of his bad deeds may have been good for him. Maybe without them, we wouldn't have had the Ray Charles we know. I’m not going to say bad or good he was a man, everyone will draw conclusions by watching this film.
Jamie Foxx was absolutely brilliant in this role. Great game, very bright and convincing. Probably his best role. He just got into it. Other actors are very good too, especially Ray's mom. The short-lived role was played so vividly that it became, for me, one of the most memorable characters of this film.
Watching biographical films, I found one pattern, if after watching the film you wanted to learn more about the hero of the film and read his biography, then the film turned out to be successful. After watching this movie, I wanted to know more about the life of Ray Charles.

Life is such an interesting thing that leaves a huge number of personalities in history, whose fate sometimes becomes an example to follow. It happens that a person, despite any ailment, still fights for his existence and for the truth, and trials only temper his spirit. A vivid example of such a person is the life story of the legendary jazzman Ray Charles Robinson, which was displayed in the musical drama Ray.
Synopsis The film tells the story of the legendary musician and jazzman Ray Charles. Throughout his life, he had to go through real trials, including a poor childhood, the death of a younger brother, early blindness, betrayal of friends, drugs, the fight against racism. The only thing that delighted his existence was music, music that won millions of fans around the world.
Game of actors In my opinion, the role in Ray is the best in the career of Jamie Foxx. In fact, Fox resurrected Ray Charles himself on the screen, returning his cheerfulness, a special manner of gestures, conversation and behavior in general. Ray Jamie Foxx is not just a dramatic character, he is above all a living person who, following the words of his mother, fights for justice all his life. Another notable role was Ray's wife, played by Kerry Washington, who embodied the image of her husband's faithful wife, ready to come to terms with his problems, except for drugs. I also liked the role of Regina King, who played the role of Marge, one of the members of Ray’s group, who was so much in love with the main character that this love brings her to a fatal end.
The film is distinguished by a very strong directorial chair in the person of a talented filmmaker Taylor Hackford. It is worth noting that the director did not shoot a classic biopic. Yes, the plot of the picture covers a huge period of time, but it touches on the most important events in the life of Ray Charles, which significantly influenced his later life. For example, I liked the way the director focused on Charles’ problem, which was drugs. This is not the main theme of the film, but the director built the film so that drug addiction became the most difficult and serious test for the main character, which he steadfastly managed to overcome. It is especially worth noting the rhythm with which the film was shot. “Ray” is not a musical, but the music takes an integral part, which conveys the entire atmosphere of the time in which the jazzman lived.
Scenario The main action of the film begins in 1949, when young Ray Robinson goes to Seattle in search of his creative growth. Thus, the writers, apparently, wanted to say that this moment served as the starting point for the career of the musician. In parallel, the main character sends the viewer into his childhood memories concerning his mother, a brave woman who taught Ray to be a strong man who should not allow anyone to cripple himself and his life. The hero is very worried about this, because he broke the promise given to his mother, and allowed himself to be maimed, but not by someone, but by himself. However, the realization of this opens his eyes and puts him above the former Ray Charles.
Installation I think many will notice that Ray also has a very bright and stylish editing. Scenes and footage don’t just replace one another. There are a lot of interesting transitions in the film. For example, I liked the Star Wars-style transition, which was also often used in movies in the 40s and 50s. This allowed the viewer to plunge into the atmosphere of time in which the film unfolded. I also liked the text transitions commenting on a particular part of the film.
Result I want to say again that I think Ray Charles is the best role in Jamie Foxx’s career to date. Fox brought back the good old Ray and once again plunged us into the world of hot jazz music. "Ray" is a very beautiful and stylish movie that I think will win or have already won a crowd of fans.
The script was read by Ray Charles. In the final shots, we see the musician himself. The picture was completed during his lifetime, and the invisible presence of this complex personality is felt not only thanks to the talent of Jamie Foxx, within the framework of in-film reality. You can probably see this as approval from above. The film is simply called “Ray,” and the conciseness of the name, taken instead of the ornate tedious combination, seems much more expressive. The biography embodied on film once again proves that life is capable of twisting events and presenting intrigues no worse than the writer’s imagination would do.
Human life is full of mistakes and victories, it is confused and unpredictable. Based on its data, it is difficult to draw a graph that is clearly directed from the bottom up – or vice versa – to emphasize one important idea, to convey one key idea drawn by the author from another’s biography. And the point where this chart ends will not definitely be the point of rise or fall. So is Hackford's film, on the one hand. Several plot-forming lines exist in parallel and develop each at its own pace. On the other hand, they are all united by themes of Ray’s growing popularity and his dangerous drug addiction. So they are closely intertwined, and then resolved - each in its own direction. A love affair with Margie, seasoned with the sharpness of a drug high, ends with her death. The family conflict develops and culminates in the scene of a quarrel between Della and Ray, after which he finds himself in the clinic. Staying in the clinic is a turning point, requiring not only a meaningful rejection and cruel physical suffering, but also a rethinking of yourself. The intersperses of childhood memories, which simultaneously give strength to fight and cause pain, eventually cease to disturb Ray. He receives forgiveness and is released from it.
The film can be compared in part with a kaleidoscope: specific fragments of life presented to the viewer are sometimes quite small. There are a lot of them. Rapidly replace each other plains of the south, seedy music halls and giant concert halls. Blinking lights and posters merge before your eyes, creating a unique atmosphere of nomadic concert life. But the main role in its creation belongs, of course, to music, which practically does not cease throughout the picture. This is what keeps Ray Charles alive and gives him spiritual strength along with his mother’s instructions: “Be a free man!” At the same time, the film is extremely focused on Ray’s inner state, subtly emphasizes the emotions he experiences, whipping up tension in scenes of irrational fear of non-existent water or unnatural nervous excitement during a concert transmitted by convulsive camera jerks. She also responds sensitively to the look of a blind child, slowly blurring familiar objects, dipping them into a haze.
As for the cast, we can say that he lives in the given conditions. All convincing, close and understandable, but the laurels should still be given to Jamie Fox, who created an image almost indistinguishable from the original, equally convincing laughing and crying with grief. Thanks to him, you clearly see a person - far from perfect, painfully selfish, in something frivolous and even unconsciously cruel, but also repenting of his mistakes, loving, and most importantly - obsessed with his vocation and therefore so attractive to others.
Perhaps, in the finale, one could abandon the traditional enumeration of “residual” facts of life, but everything else was in its place. A little sentimentality associated with childhood memories, and a drop of pathos in the meeting with deceased relatives, occurring in Ray’s imagination, a little pretentious. And at the same time, they're poetic. Colored bottles, swaying in the wind, and hurting the drearyness of the poor plains and shacks - after all, it was this world of the departed and therefore beautiful past that brought up Man, breathed music into him and gave him a chance to rise to the top.
It is true that since his childhood Ray lost his sight and now he was in the darkness he feared. It was music that helped Ray find himself in this life, and despite the inability to see, he did not give up, he went ahead and became the favorite of millions. Ray grew up in a poor family in Florida, and since childhood, his mother made him promise that no matter what, he would stand on his feet and not allow himself to be deceived. A little later, he leaves his native land and goes to college for the blind. And it is impossible not to note his unrestrained attraction to the piano, even from an early age he began to master this art. And when Ray becomes an adult, he begins to perform.
To be honest, the beginning of the film seemed boring to me and I almost stopped watching, but still decided. And for good reason. After all, what began to happen on the screen further, caused me only delight, I can’t imagine how much I would lose without watching this film. “Ray” is of course an amateur, and it is desirable that the viewer knows in advance who Ray Charles is. I really liked the game of Jamie Foxx, he played Ray naturally, there is no bad thing to say.
The film deserved two Oscars, which indicates that the film is worthy of attention. Of course, I understand that some movies with 4 Oscars are not good, but Ray is not the case. And I would like to note that Ray Charles was not only a great musician who made a revolution in the world of music, he was also a brilliant businessman. And if you haven’t seen this masterpiece yet, be sure to do it! There are very few such films, but fortunately they are!

Many people in the world love movies based on real events. And I understand them perfectly. There is nothing more interesting and original than life.
I am writing about the 2004 film Ray, about the brilliant blind musician Ray Charles. Even if you don’t know anything about this man, you’ve heard 150% of his famous compositions. The first sounds you hear in the movie are great music. And this is the Lords and Ladies bid for success. And the lead actor Jamie Foxx not in vain received his Oscar and 3 more prestigious awards in 2005 - he is inimitable. It is difficult for a sighted person to imagine what it is like for a blind person to live alone and not give up, but when you watch this movie, everything becomes clear and clear.
The atmosphere of small and large clubs and the life of dark-skinned people is conveyed, not sure exactly, but heartfelt. He doesn’t really give up and he knows what’s inside. Who will be friends with the blind? But women loved him. I'll notice a lot of women. Ray had only 2 formal marriages and 12 children. This is crazy! From his hands and heart music was born in the styles of jazz, country, soul, rhythm and blues and all this he interfered with each other virtuoso seasoning all this with unforgettable vocals. Ray Charles is the only artist to win a Grammy for 50 consecutive years. It's a lifetime! How did he get the terms of the contract?
And I also love those facial expressions of the sound in the studio behind the glass and the sound of the double bass and the piano and, of course, the dancing. The discography of this musician has 108 albums! You can’t write 3 singles and sing them all your life. I also don’t remember a picture of Ray without a smile.
Not all movies are perfect. For some, it may seem boring or superficial. If you are looking for entertainment, this movie is not for you. And if you want to have a good evening, think about life, listen to good music and get a lot of right thoughts ... well, enjoy watching!
P.S. A few words from Ray:
- “If you write a good song, it stays good, even if it’s sung by someone with a bad voice.”
- I know many people will disagree with me, but I think music is the greatest art of all, period. I know people who are in film or writing will say, “Ray, you’re crazy!” But I still believe that music is the greatest art.
- “In my heart, you know, I am not fooling myself. I know I'm not a genius. Geniuses are Art Tatum or Charlie Parker. I don't care about these guys like the moon. And I just happen to be able to do something small and do it well.
... SOL!
One of the greatest artists and vocalists of all time, a man from the very bottom ascended to the Olympus of musical fame, the owner of various awards and awards, an innovator and destroyer of stereotypes, invariably won the hearts of new and new listeners around the world throughout his career.
Few people who have not heard the songs of Ray Charles, if only because in cinema his compositions are used very widely.
It is difficult to make a biographical picture. Especially difficult to shoot about who reigns a halo of greatness. It's easy to dispel.
Unfortunately, you need to evaluate not the legendary Charles, but the film about him.
The picture is ambiguous. The director tried to show the origins of an unbending spirit and a huge desire to always stand firmly on his feet in the difficult and joyless childhood of a black boy. The family tragedy left a deep mark in the soul of the hero and largely contributed to his formation. The very childhood, visions of him, which hallucinations haunt the musician in the future, the psychological state shown at the same time is excellent.
Dramatic struggle with heroin addiction, increasing tension and a clear sense of physical suffering, scenes in the clinic with the constant ghosts of the past are beautiful.
Numerous musical numbers, scenes of the birth of future masterpieces are magnificent.
Brilliant play and incredible reincarnation of Jamie Foxx, wonderfully transmitted energy, manners, the behavior of the legend is wonderful.
The ingredients are first-class, but, unfortunately, they form a fairly fresh and boring dish. It is difficult to watch the film in one sitting and the first time. The tension, the real drama, comes when Ray begins to struggle with addiction, which is where he finds his climax. The rest is a smooth, dry list of facts from life. It's like an encyclopedia.
This is what makes it impossible to appreciate the picture very high.
It may sound sacrilegious, but I think Ray Charles was more important than Elvis Presley. I don’t know if Ray was one of the creators of rock ‘n’ roll, but he was definitely the first in a lot of things. Who the hell ever mixed so many styles together to make it work? – Billy Joel
Gentlemen, how much do you like music? It’s a passion for me, just like cinema. I can’t even say that there is more passion, they complement each other, turning into something even more beautiful. Gentlemen, this is art!
I really like autobiographical films. They show famous people on a side that we've never singled out, or even suspected, or suspected but never seen. Of course, there are things that are made to order to hide the details. Stop whistling me and saying that all movies of this kind are made this way. Maybe, but that’s not what I’m talking about.
So I want to talk about a movie like Ray/Ray in 2004. Directed by Taylor Hackford, also known for 1997's The Devil's Advocate.
The film shows the extraordinary life of our idol Ray Charles Robinson, better known as Ray Charles. It shows his childhood, the loss of his younger brother, blindness, the beginning of his musical career, the ups and downs during his heroin addiction. There's a lot you didn't know about Ray, you can see here. Jamie Foxx played a great idol. He showed his unrestrained character, an inner strength that is not present in many. For me, this is his best role so far. Being not only an actor, but also a musician, he did a great job. He won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Ray, which says a lot.
The film is very pleasant to the eye, very warm tones of filming events. This complements the soundtrack that makes up Ray's most famous hits. And his creativity, as we know, was great. Ego life was impregnated with energy, as the ego character spoke of. He survived the blows of fate, for which she rewarded him. The last ordeal was heroin addiction, which he suffered for a very long time, but found the strength to throw, and never touch the needle. This can only be applauded standing up.
Very nice movie, really. It does not strain the duration, 2.5 hours, it is just selected perfectly. It does not have time to get bored, because the actions in the film are enticing, but not as boring. You don’t have to watch it alone, it’s a movie that you have to watch with someone, but it’s important that they love music, especially Ray, like you. Lighting after desire, because you will not be alone.
There are films that I call “for people who love music.” That's exactly what it is. If you are a musician, you will be interested to see the ascent, the pros and cons of a musician’s career. If you’re just a fan of Ray, you’ll be interested in getting to know the dark corners of the ego and seeing the whole story. If you don’t belong to either of them, but just like good movies, this movie is for you.
The movie’s slogan is “The Extraordinary Life of Ray Charles” – and it’s completely justified. It shows the life of an idol who will remain in our hearts forever.
MUST SEE
P.S. 2004 was a sad year for Ray Charles Robinson fans - we lost a great man.
Before us is the life of one of the most important figures in the history of music – Ray Charles. Poor childhood, the tragic and ridiculous death of his younger brother, blindness – all this did not break the spirit of a talented musician who was able to achieve phenomenal success among music lovers around the world. The film will tell about the most significant events of the first half of Charles' life - marriage, mistresses, children, drugs, and of course music.
Wonderful movie. Very touching, bright and very informative. There are only two things I would have said about Ray Charles before he saw it: he was blind and he sang Hit the Road, Jack. The movie "Ray" added to my knowledge, for which I thank him very much. In general, such films are important and necessary precisely so that people can learn how and what great people lived, because cinema is fun and interesting, and not everyone can find and read dry lines of Wikipedia.
In my case, the filmmakers achieved their goal – I really respected Charles and became interested in his work. It probably only lasts for a couple of weeks, but is that a bad thing? After all, I was born when the main hits of Charles had already aged and become a classic. I have no doubt that for many of you who are reading these lines, Charles’s name means almost nothing. It's neither good nor bad. But if there is an opportunity to touch something really great, why not take the opportunity.
I got a similar pleasure while watching the painting “Life in the Pink”. The movies are really similar. Both there and there is a meticulously recreated biography of the great musician, and there and there is a lot of music and fun, and there and there are absolutely brilliantly played the main roles. Jamie Foxx is generally not a bad actor, but I think the role of Charles is the pinnacle of his career. It will be very, very difficult to rise to such a height again. There are people who say that Jamie showed such a special thing, just copied Ray’s behavior one by one. Well, what can I say in response – try yourself so “just copy”.
Anyone who is interested in gaining new knowledge, exploring the world of music and at the same time enjoying watching a feature film, I sincerely advise you to watch the film “Ray”. It's worth it.
1. The story of a musician. You will learn unknown facts from the life of the greatest singer, composer, pianist of the XX century. He was not only a virtuoso creator and performer, he was a revolutionary who was shaking the foundations and making his way into new musical horizons.
Immerse yourself in the black music world of 50s America. This time, this music in our country is not so widely known. I am sure you will be fascinated and fascinated by these rhythms and these people.
2. History of man. Overcoming, strength and talent. Blindness, heroin addiction. It's over. He did. That's what this movie and this life is about. Not dead at 27, not forgotten, not broken.
The result? a surprisingly successful music career, millions of dollars, creative realization, love of the world. In addition... an extremely rich personal life. As evidenced by 12 children from 9 women This man lived in full force and left, having done perhaps all he had to do.
An example to all of us. The movie will inspire, I guarantee. For this special thanks to the creators of the film and, in particular, Jamie Fox, who played perfectly.
