A lot of impressive action, a strong layer of black humor, but there is one big but - twisted storylines that They cross each other, and they get tired. Pitt looks in the second half of this painfully Guy Ritchie production somewhat lost. Therefore, as a general result of this directorial work, it looks not only like Guy Ritchie, but also Tarantinovsky. The scale, therefore, secondary is not particularly appreciated in such projects mixed with brightness and ambition. Verdict: not boring, But with a share of low-intensity timekeeping in terms of revealing images and their "keys."
A mercenary thief codenamed God's Cow gets on a train without a ticket or a weapon. His goal is to get a case of money. However, there are a bunch of other criminals of different stripes on the train. He'll have to face everyone. God's Cow is insanely unlucky, but his failures begin to play against everyone who is on the train.
Lately, I've been getting high from movies like Faster Bullet. It’s one of the few movies I’ve watched in recent months. I only looked at the time until the end once, and only when I caught myself thinking that I wasn’t watching this comedy action movie without stopping for a second. Faster Bullets is not the most visually beautiful action movie like John Wick, nor even the most stylish one like Tarantino. However, both in steepness and in spectacular turned out very well.
"Faster Bullet" is an almost perfect example of the kind of movie I want to watch every night. Yes, this is not a cinematic masterpiece, but the film is funny, very spectacular and with a very comfortable vibe. The humor is not brilliant, but it still smiles. He works mainly through absurd circumstances built on the endless failures of the protagonist and the vicissitudes of fate. He also works a little through cultural stereotypes, very primitively featuring Japanese, Russians and Spaniards. I think it was done intentionally. After all, this film is full of irony. But this particular moment I would rather not see at all. The eyes are not masolite, but the assessment will affect.
I really like the grotesque images of all the characters in this film. At the same time, it is difficult for me to even note any special details in such a way that it looks special, because all the characters look very organic and do not cut their eyes.
The plot in this film is insanely silly, absurd humor that builds the whole storyline in me didn't get as well as the film as a whole. Maybe they didn’t, maybe they didn’t go there. But, in general, it is very interesting to watch, and it seems to me that this film can be revised more than once, despite the importance of intrigue and the effect of surprise.
“Faster Bullets” is a very good “bad” action movie, because it’s a stupid movie, but it should be.

Brilliant: There's Rodriguez and Tarantino and Clint Eastwood and a little bit of Akiro Kurosawa, a barbecue squared with references to all the Greats! Watch with beer, switching smoothly to whiskey!
The most exciting path is the one with the most unexpected workarounds.
“Faster Bullets” is a cinematic entertainment trip, in which the thrill of an action-packed narrative is combined with an unexpected comedic delight. The plot of the film, a seemingly simple mission set aboard the pulsating veins of the Japanese railway, quickly turns into a tapestry of intrigue and excitement. This is an exciting action thriller that surprises the viewer with its dynamics and tension. This is not just a film, this is a cinematic odyssey that leads the viewer through a maze of adrenaline and intelligence.
Director David Leitch skillfully manages the action, making sure each scene is as immersive visually as it is narratively compelling. The rhythm of the film testifies to Leitch’s understanding of the genre, which never allows the audience’s attention to weaken. His vision is a master class on the pace of storytelling, where each scene switches gears with the precision of a well-functioning machine, but never loses its human essence. The director was able to combine dynamic action scenes with deep personal stories, creating a fascinating movie that goes beyond standard templates.
* One of the main advantages of the film is the cast. In the roles of the main characters stars of great caliber, who embody their characters with incredible charisma and persuasiveness. Their on-screen interaction highlights the dramatic ending and adds depth to the plot. The productions are a symphony of subtlety and intensity, with starring Brad Pitt creating an image that is as layered as it is compelling, as a mercenary codenamed Ladybug showcasing a game that is both incredibly cool and charmingly flawed. His journey is not so much a destination as a chaotic symphony of encounters along the way.
Jonathan Sell’s camera work is a vivid love message to Japan’s neon-lit urban landscapes, conveying the essence of the movement the film enjoys. It is a dance between the bold and the delicate, conveying the essence of speed without feeling rushed. The footage is shot with high skill, and each scene is saturated with energy and adrenaline.
A separate element to be noted is the film's musical accompaniment, which whispers and roars equally, keeping the film's pace up with sound strokes that are both mesmerizing and exhilarating. This is a soundtrack that not only accompanies the action, but also elevates it to the realm of sound skills, which creates a unique atmosphere and gives the film an additional emotional load.
Zack Olkiewicz’s script, based on Kotaro Isaki’s work, is an elaborate mixture of humor and danger. The dialogue sweeps at the speed of Shinkansen himself, evoking laughter as sharp as plot twists. The script avoids the traps of predictability by weaving a narrative tapestry rich in intrigue and humanity. The dialogue is crackling with authenticity, with each line sounding weighty, tying the film’s most fantastic elements to an acceptable reality. Although the script does not go into deep philosophical reasoning, it satisfies the expectations of the viewer from the action genre and is filled with a storm of action. The twists of the plot and unexpected events keep the viewer in suspense until the very end. A variety of vicissitudes and unexpected endings make the film interesting and exciting.
Editing Elizabeth Ronaldsdottir is the unsung hero of the film, weaving together many elements in a coherent and fascinating narrative. The production design and artistic direction create a world that is both familiar and fantastically sublime, the perfect playground for film characters who are bigger than in life.
* However, despite all the positive aspects, there are some shortcomings in the film. Some scenes could be more developed and in-depth to better reveal the characters' characters and their motivations. Also, some dialogues seem a little strained and unnecessary.
* In general, the film “Faster Bullet” is a beautiful work of art that will give the viewer a lot of emotions and exciting moments. He skillfully combines action, drama and philosophical reflection, creating a deep impression and leaving behind a long memory. It is a testament to cinema’s ability to fascinate and surprise, a film that exceeds expectations and leaves behind an indelible trail of thought. It's a reminder that a journey can be as impressive as a destination, and sometimes the deepest truths are found not at the finish line but in the turmoil of the race itself.
In Fast Bullet, the end station is really just the beginning. It’s a film that understands what it means to entertain, make audiences guess and deliver an end product that’s as smart as it is fun. It's a reminder that sometimes the most exciting path is the one with the most unexpected workarounds.
David Litch, director of such high-profile action films as John Wick, Hobbs and Shaw, Deadpool, in the continuation of his line shot another no less juicy action film, satisfying the needs of the audience in bright and unpretentious entertainment with the help of his blockbuster “Faster Bullet”. This film easily won the hearts of the audience due to its energy and dynamics, but also thanks to a very juicy sodium of famous actors.
Faster Bullet is a Japanese book about a fast train filled with killers of different kinds. The plot of the film branches in two opposite directions: you can perceive it as a gloomy action movie with elements of a detective or as a funny comic book extravaganza with a huge number of jokes. Naturally, Litch chooses the second option and puts more emphasis on it.
Therefore, the audience must be prepared for the fact that the film will be jokes, farce and eccentric behavior of the characters. Even the action scenes in the film are very cartoonish and not serious. But if you are ready to adopt this style and plunge into its atmosphere, then you will have two hours of bright and fun entertainment.
Not surprisingly, David Leitch was interested in the film adaptation of this Japanese book, because the plot of the film resembles a mixture of styles of Tarantino and Guy Ritchie with the classic atmosphere of the detective “Murders on the Orient Express”. In the center of events, a thief named Godbug (played by Brad Pitt) accidentally becomes part of a small adventure, replacing his fellow mercenary with sudden health problems. His job is to board a Japanese bullet train to Kyoto, steal a suitcase and get off at the next station. At first, it seems like a simple task, doesn’t it?
However, it soon turns out that the suitcase belongs to British mercenaries hired by a big and scary Japanese boss nicknamed the White Death to bring his addicted son back to Kyoto. Other assassins are also present on the train, but their goals and motives remain a mystery. The end station promises not to be for everyone.
All the characters of the film, including funny cameos, leave a not too bright impression and poorly spelled. The exception is actors who play purely comic characters and fill the boring moments of the script with their charisma. Especially stands out Brad Pitt, who is the absolute star of the film.
He is a mad and brave fighter who does not hesitate to pour a ton of blood on the cabin of a new high-speed Japanese train and touch on the serious problems of fathers and children. My biggest question is why (and why?) Brad Pitt just recently plunged into the genre of comedy, at the same time, the comedy of the absurd? It's a real treasure trove for Hollywood. It suits him very well.
David Leitch gathered bright actors in an equally bright picture filled with high-brow action, madness and sparkling humor. And how great looks Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who since the days of “Kick-Ass” has grown up and matured, but still has a special taste for comedy. The whole narrative is based on humor, which looks extremely harmonious with the pace of the narrative and the characters themselves, each of which, appearing for a very short period, is remembered and stands out from the rest.
The expressiveness of the film, its unrestrained energy and humor may not appeal to all viewers. Some may get tired of this never-ending attack of jokes and frivolity. But perhaps that’s the kind of film we’ve been missing, and Faster Bullet is a great example of reckless and absurd entertainment that doesn’t have to be logical. This is a movie that offers the viewer just to enjoy the moment and not to delve into the details. David Litch and his team have created a fireworks movie, and if you’re ready for it, get on this train of high-speed fun and enjoy the moment.
I probably only lacked the effect of surprise in terms of cameo of the main antagonist in the face of the White Death, where some hyper-famous actor, for whom participation in such a picture will already be an event, directly suggests. I can’t imagine who it could be, but why not the same Tom Hanks, who stuck in our hearts only as a friendly and calm character in the movie.
Tarantinovshchina (if described in one word). A very spectacular black comedy with a bunch of crazy tricks, good-fucking dialogue and Japanese aesthetics. I'm definitely going to pay attention to what David Litch is doing. By the way, the director of this film is a former stunt double of Brad Pitt (who is here in the lead role) and a stunt director, which quite strongly affected how this film was made. An interesting discovery for me: Brad Pitt is a whoop.
“Faster bullets” is the brother of “Trump aces” and the half-brother of Balabanovsky “Zhmurkam”. Stylish, dynamic, stuffed with actors of the first echelon and visual, which the same "Aces" due to the time of release were not capable (but "Boss level" was already).
A mercenary man with the call sign “God Bug” receives a seemingly simple task, boards a high-tech Japanese train (the whole film you will compare it with some sapsan not in favor of the latter) and is thrown into the epicenter of criminal showdowns, within which a couple of dozen different figures will move along the site (train).
The film has a solid timekeeping, but it looks (with some even chamberiness) in one breath - and this in itself says a lot. Action is inventive, but not in action. The moves, twists and intersections of characters are standard for the genre (in addition to "Aces" and "Zhmurok", we recall Richie's program tapes - and even "All and at once" Karimov), but they are performed at the level and produce the desired effect. Pitt is charming, Taylor-Johnson has grown up, matured and made his way into the mentioned first echelon, Hiroyuki is organic in the usual role - and plus to the whole viewer there are several unexpected appearances that, yes, "shot out." And the most interesting thing is that the grinding action movie is filmed based on the book (I repent of drowsyness, I have not heard about it) - and due to this, unlike many neighbors in the segment, it carries a certain mentally reflective layer (tied to the Eastern vision of the world, since the original source is Japanese), giving the tape depth. That is, there is a spectacle, and an attraction, and still a reason to think (in "Zhmurki" such an additional variable was reflection on the theme of the 90s, for example). And this automatically throws the picture points.
Director David Leitch is quite famous as the author of action-action films (the first John Wick, Deadpool 2). However, "Faster Bullet" took it to a new level - a similar mix from action and comedy is not so often so successful.
A freelance mercenary named God Cow (Brad Pitt) has an existential crisis. He doesn’t want to kill people anymore, so he accepts a new mission just because it seems relatively easy. They promised that this time there would be no death. But life sets its priorities somewhat differently, so that on one high-speed train there are several high-class killers with very different opinions on their work. And so this trip will definitely not be called calm.
This time, Litch managed to maintain a delicate balance between a hurricane action and a cheerful showdown until the very end. The latter is responsible for several characters, and they perfectly cope with their task. Of course, the humor here is charcoal black, but only this is appropriate here. In addition, we are already saturated with extremely serious action mixes.
Plus, the big plus of Faster Bullet is a couple of stars. In addition to Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are seen here, who were responsible for the presence of comedic elements. The three of them perfectly portray killers who, for all their comics, are very dangerous mercenaries.
Of course, the quality of the action itself is also important in such a film. And we have to admit that the visuals and choreography are perfectly executed. Here, the environment is actively used, even poisonous substances and katanas are used, and at some point the train itself becomes a deadly trap.
In the end, we have an almost perfect comedy action movie. Maybe the plot turned out to be a little banal, and the disclosure of the characters was slightly lacking, but you forget about all these trifles when Brad Pitt tries to get to the cockpit of a train flying into the abyss.

On the last long flight by plane, among the many interesting films was the recent Faster Bullet. I have heard about him and the people who play there. I figured, why not? And I did. I can’t remember the last time I spent so much time on a long flight! I did not read the graphic novel that formed the basis of the film, and did not particularly know the synopsis, but I watched without stopping and laughed from my heart!
There is a high-speed train from Tokyo to Kyoto. A mercenary with the code name of God’s Bug sits on him. His task is very simple - to pick up the case with the money and get off at the next station. He does not yet know that the case is being carried by two other mercenary killers who must return the case along with a drug addict who is also the son of a powerful yakuza. On the same train, two more killers are planning their vendetta to those they think deserve it. On the train, several doubtful personalities board. And Godbug understands that all these mercenaries were not here by chance, and they are all part of someone’s insidious plan. And getting off this train is much more difficult than getting in.
Before I watched it, I thought it would be a standard action movie. And what is an action movie is an action movie in which many action scenes like fights, hand-to-hand and the use of cold and firearms, large-scale chases and some destructive special effects are expected. Quicker than a bullet gives us all this, which severely limits the scene. All the action is enclosed in one train – in an enclosed space, where it seems that there is not so much room for maneuvers, hand-to-hand and special effects. But David Leitch proves the opposite - after all, absolutely all of the above happened on this train! And it was incredibly spectacular, because it was important for the main character to get off the train – and that means that he will not get off the train under any circumstances. Every 5 minutes he has a new challenge, a new opponent(s), a new “failure”. And watching the hero come out of these failures literally without a single shot is very cool!
But the main thing here was still the brightest cast: for a long time I have not seen Brad Pitt in this image (only Ocean's Eleven friends are remembered). Here he's a mercenary codenamed Godbug. And he immediately expresses his dissatisfaction because he considers himself completely unlucky. And watching all his adventures on the train, we are convinced of the complete opposite of this belief! He is one of the luckiest people on this train. Not parting with the phone, and having the simplest task of all heroes, he is forced to fight a bunch of killers, each of whom has a different task (but everyone must eliminate it), and fight with the most unusual environments like a quiet car, or a bar car, and all this can be done in the absence of any firearms.
The cast is generally the best that there is in the film: a couple of mercenaries with code names Mandarin (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry), who do not strain because of the task, talk to each other on different topics, but most often about the cartoon The Engine Thomas, according to which Lemon very accurately assesses the people around them; Prince (Joe King), a ruthless psychopathic killer who hides her true plans under the appearance of an innocent schoolgirl; a gloomy assassin named Wolf (Benito A. Martinez Ocasio), who boards a train to take revenge on the murderer of his wife and believes that God’s Cow is the murderer; Kimura’s father (Andrew Koji), a yakuza mafia mediator, is looking for the one who pushed his son out of the window on the train, and his father, the Elder (Hiroyuki Sanada), an elderly yakuza member, who realizes that behind all these events lies a much more sophisticated and sinister plan. For a short time you can see a couple of familiar faces - for example, Zazi Batz, Logan Lerman, Sandra Bullock, Michael Shannon, Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum.
Faster Bullet is an unexpectedly dynamic and exciting action movie, with a very bright cast, very unpredictable and incredible action scenes, which will definitely brighten up a couple of boring hours and give a lot of unforgettable impressions!
I read the book Killer Train in one breath. When I found out that they made a film based on the book, I wanted to finish reading quickly to watch the film adaptation. The role of Brad Pitt in the role of “God Bug” has already been questioned. From the first minute I was disappointed. To so distort a very good book with a completely different message and meaning, it was necessary to try hard.
Why did the creators decide to make Prince a girl? In the book, the reader hated Prince throughout history, there was shown his sociopathic gut by the example of how he famously manipulates everyone, watches how people suffer and these sufferings please him. In the film, not only that the director created the image of an unloved child (such a line was not in the book), but also made the character funny in places.
The characters of the mandarin and lemon also have many questions. Where is the naive and sometimes stupid "Lemon" who almost every second talked about the trains from the cartoon?
Absolutely ALL the characters differed from the book prototypes, all the storylines were distorted, as a result of which, instead of a deep story, we got a comedy in which even empathy is impossible for anyone.
The only plus is Maria's character. She exactly represented her book prototype.
David Litch, familiar to us from the films “John Wick” and “Deadpool”, presented to the audience his new film “Faster Bullet” did not disappoint at all and perhaps this is his best creation. "Faster Bullet" is undoubtedly a feast for the eyes. Not for a second do not want to break away from the screen and as soon as the credits begin, there is a desire to review the film from the very beginning, again not for a second, without distraction, so as not to miss anything again.
Brad Pitt in the role of the disappointed life of the hired killer of God’s Cow replaces the sick Carver in order to steal a suitcase from the Japanese Express and get off with him at the next station. It seems to spit, but he does not suspect that his fellow travelers are all the assassins with whom he directly or indirectly touched in his career – twins Limon and Mandarin casually discussing domestic problems, preparing for murder, reminding us of the heroes of Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction, who accompany the son of White Death, the Russian boss of the Japanese mafia and a cute schoolgirl nicknamed Prince (it is interesting that actress Joey King in that film, in addition to her father, she is very much reading about her father). The train is also riding assassins Wolf and Hornet, with whom God’s Cow has already encountered at a wedding in Mexico and with them he also has a difficult conversation. Despite the train infested with murderers, God’s Cow, with ease and incredible luck (or failure, depending on how to look), flies on the carriages and copes with all the difficulties that literally fall at its feet.
Brad Pitt in this film felt his new role in comedy. The role of God’s Cow is given to him with such ease that he was born for it. Whether he’s eating wasabi nuts or studying a smart Japanese toilet with interest while locked in the toilet, he’s very organic in the shot. By the way, the director David Litch acted as a stunt double of Brad Pitt in “Fight Club”, “11 Friends of Ocean”, “Three”, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, but according to Pitt, he performed 95% of the stunts in “Faster Bullet”, which shows how he is in great shape.
“Faster Bullets” is a flawlessly shot witty comedy with close attention to detail, in which all the characters and storylines are intertwined so skillfully that it causes an unreal pleasure to pull every thread and slowly unravel a tangle stuffed with numerous cameos and Easter eggs. "Faster Bullet" is an extramarital child of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie, grown on anime and seasoned with steroids. This film, of course, is not for those who are allergic to American humor in the style of Judd Apatow, and not for those who stubbornly try to look for too deep meaning in everything. But if you enjoyed watching Deadpool and have tender feelings for Brad Pitt, then you will.
"Faster Bullets" is a chamber anime no anime action movie. Be careful and beware of fakes. The film does not include Dwayne Johnson's Rock.
Train. Several professional mercenaries ' Accidentally ' meet together and wet each other in a confined space. Why? All for one suitcase. For now, that'll be enough. At first nothing is clear, but very interesting. It turns out a twisted story and exciting action.
Good adaptation of anime without anime. That's a compliment, yes. Here are colorful main characters, clashing with each other in pathos fights, shootouts and discussions. There is no logic or common sense, but who cares? The characters are great. The movie is entertaining, offering a moderately confusing but ironic plot. Drive and fun. But everything '18+' of course. There are scenes of violence.
Unfortunately, there is nothing more to say about the film. If you like action movies, comedies, detectives, absurd stories and Brad Pitt. And if you don't, look anyway. Cinema is especially suitable for companies.
Sometimes you want something simple, simple. Turn on the movie and turn off the brain. Unfortunately, most modern paintings that are somehow associated with such words, in fact, do not carry the proper relaxation. They're either trying to overload unnecessary things, or they're just made very badly. And high-quality, beautiful, with action and drive, a bit tough, you will rarely see. But this movie is very successful.
This film has everything you need for a comedy action movie. You just dipped headlong into the events, in passing giving small plot garters. Yes, the film is essentially a set of cliches. Yes, the authors have scored a lot from Tarantino, Richie, Vaughn, Carnahan. But is it bad when it works perfectly? Cool action, good humor, riot of colors, cool fights, chic characters, rock music (I just freaked out from the Japanese version of the eternal hit Bonnie Tyler). At the same time, the film does not slow down, but all the time throws up new things that continue to keep the viewer watching.
There is no complicated plot, there is a frame of history, on which the characters are planted, which we can learn only from a couple of sentences. Is that bad? In this case, no. We're just interested in watching them. Actors are beautiful. Brad Pitt has been playing in his movies lately. And you can see it on the screen. It is impossible to take your eyes off your character.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry have created a chic duo that is both stupid and beautiful. Small roles of other famous actors also bring a smile. There are nice cameos.
This movie does everything to please the viewer, and it does it right. If you want to relax under a cool action with incredibly bright visuals, good humor, cool characters and drive music, then I advise you not to miss this film. You will have a lot of fun.
P.S. The moment about the water bottle at the end was unexpectedly cool.
It's a very stylishly made film. It looks amazing. The acting is great and all the characters are very honed and cool, as you would expect in a killer movie. It's two hours of relentless action. Despite everything, this movie is very funny. There are endless cameos, twists and unexpected moments. The movie certainly keeps you on edge.
What's the movie about?
A mercenary nicknamed “Godbug” (Pitt) gets a seemingly simple task – jump aboard a high-speed train in Japan, take a silver briefcase and jump off at the next station. As everything usually happens with such a setup, the task is not so simple, and soon the “Godbug” is surrounded by a crowd of motley and serious personalities with their overlapping goals.
Opinion
Take a typical Tarantino film and pull out of it detailed characters, exciting story, masterful directing, as well as all the allusions and subtexts and then there will be only witty dialogue and unexpected plot tricks, that is, a typical Guy Ritchie film. And if you erase from a typical Guy Ritchie film witty dialogue and plot twists, you get “Faster bullets”, the film is empty, noisy and meaningless.
In principle, something else to expect from the director of “Deadpool 2” and “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw” and was not worth it. In "Fast Bullet" he puts style above the essence, stuffing the film with samurai aesthetics, psycho-killers, sudden episodic appearances of famous actors and turning the whole mess into a farce, pretty smacking it with cartoonish ultraviolence.
On this soulless train, at best, you can ride once and then, only because you are accompanied by such charismatic actors: Pitt is damn good, but in my opinion, Taylor-Johnson has outplayed everyone here.

Not so long ago I was invited to the cinema to watch ' comedy' starring Brad Pitt. It sounded quite attractive, so it was difficult to refuse. The movie was really good, the budget speaks for itself. But despite its 'perfect' and good box office, there are a couple of reasons why it’s clearly not the best movie.
The plot is quite competent - it builds a logical connection between the characters, gives them the opportunity to interact with each other. The main character - a hired agent of God's Cow - performs a task on a train that follows from Tokyo to Morioka. His target is a case of money. However, several other mercenaries are interested in the case, who are trying to take it all the way. The plot is driven into a short time frame. The film consists of parallel stories of each hero, which allows you to quickly switch the attention of the viewer when there is nothing to tell.
This is one of the problems of the film - each character is spelled out in its own style, which makes the film saturated. It seems as if they are trying to insert as many of the brightest clichés as possible. We can see the gloomy look of the Japanese mafia after the lively hot scene with the Spanish wedding, which is completely not combined in style and does not set the overall mood of the film.
The same trend can be seen in camera work. Color scales in each storyline very competently and concisely convey the characters of each character. However, there is no common color or palette. From neon blue, it jumps into bright yellow, then into gloomy gray, and so on in a circle.
Despite this, the film can be praised, as it sets a good mood with light jokes and funny, slightly absurd dialogue. It is easy enough to see, does not seek to push the viewer to any reflection. But, in my opinion, it could be made not only spectacular, but also interesting, if it had a little less ' Solyanka' of popular actors, slightly naive jokes and clichés and a little more idea that would go through the whole plot. He tries to be everything at once, but eventually becomes everything. Nothing.
Although, the main goal he still fulfills - a reference to the broad masses and good box office.
The novelty of this summer “Faster Bullet” (Bullet Train) August 5, 2022 directed by David Litch with a stunning cast of actors, led by Brad Pitt, as well as: Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry. This is another film in the treasury.
The plot seems typical for a comedy action movie: several killers find themselves on the same high-speed train, it would seem, by chance, but in the course of the film, we understand that not. The train goes from Tokyo to Kyoto (the former capital of Japan). The scene is Tokyo. But gradually the plot develops in a very interesting way - then unexpectedly, introducing secondary arches of characters, then changing the focus of attention between the main and secondary characters. In addition to the main plot, a biography of each character is attached, which reveals the motivations of the characters and helps us, the audience, understand their actions.
The film is replete with references to other popular films, as well as a banter over the genre itself and over itself (like "Gray Man"), selective humor, (what is the nickname "God Bug" all the punchline in that it is really lucky). Two twin brothers (killers) under the pseudonyms "Lemon and Mandarin". No spoilers, so look for yourself. All in the best traditions of such films as: “Seven psychopaths”, “Cards, money, two guns”, “The Hateful Eight”, “11 friends of Ocean” and others. This film, as if, combined all the films in one bouquet, successfully combining the most memorable moments.
The most prominent features of the film “Faster Bullet” are charismatic characters, even with episodic roles and vividly spelled out dialogue. Bright and clear style, expressed by facial expressions, incredible tricks, ranging from costume to weapons.
"Faster Bullet" - a film where from the first minutes of viewing with your head plunge into the atmosphere of modern technologies of the country of the rising sun, unsurpassed complemented by absurd and sometimes cliched humor, as well as bright colors, turning what is happening into an epic neon show.
The picture is literally torn apart by this endless riot of colors, which, by the way, are very tasteful not only complement the film, but rather even become the main link in the chain of only partially sparkling jokes, massacres and technologies supplemented by the same jokes.
In the center of the plot is a mercenary with a rather non-trivial call sign - God's Cow, whose share fell on a simple mission to steal a suitcase located in a high-speed train that follows the route: Tokyo - Kyoto. Initially, it seems that there is not a single pitfall that prevents the task: get on a train, steal a suitcase and suddenly leave. However, our hero is very, very unlucky, and therefore, thanks to a mysterious coincidence, a number of high-class killers are on the train. In between rants about the mission, God’s Cow referred to the authoritative opinion of his psychotherapist and talked about understanding Zen with all the unwitting participants in the conversation.
In general, the story looks quite comical, and I am extremely attracted by this non-linear approach to the depiction of events in the film, characteristic of the famous Guy Ritchie. No, Faster Bullet was not directed by him, but by David Litch, but I see a clear similarity in the fascinating introduction of metaphors and the nature of the narrative. However, in my opinion, the main difference between the works of Guy Ritchie will still be a more refined manner of narration, as well as a completely different nature of humor, with not so flat and sometimes inappropriate jokes. In "Fast Bullet" notorious jokes were periodically too long, and if you do something, then at least do it stylishly and competently, in the first hour of the film the abundance of such humor went beyond all possible limits, which, frankly, even had time to get bored and funny was not. I believe that the film clearly saved the second part of the development of events, but here also played into the hands of a talented cast, a good study of the characters and their motives, as well as simply unimaginable color scheme, which played not the last role.
“Faster Bullet” is also remarkable for its bright return of Brad Pitt, who not only conquered everyone with his energy and audacity (it is worth at least looking at a photocall from the premiere of the film), but also appeared in a new unusual genre. It is possible that, having made a name for himself in the world of cinema, Pitt wanted something unusual, but such an extravagant choice of work definitely helped him. I don’t yet fully understand this choice of role, but I still approve, because sometimes I just want to watch Brad Pitt study the functions of a smart toilet, and do not think about anything else or worry. The actor, despite the specifics of the genre, is still talented, and still looks absolutely amazing. In general, God’s Cow has now become the personification of this year’s cinema: an easy, carefree movie with a considerable amount of madness, however, it is not necessary to choose now, and therefore the release of any more or less decent movie, and in addition, by cult actors, is gaining immense popularity.
In addition to the legendary Brad Pitt, the viewer has something to cling to, or rather, who. The film also played Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Logan Lerman, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazi Beetz and others. Perhaps, it was the actors listed masterfully complemented the plot, take at least a funny duet of the “brothers” Lemon and Mandarin, or absolutely unrecognizable Son performed by Logan Lerman, as well as a skillful transformation Prince, which became the main decoration of the film.
Moreover, in addition to the previously mentioned colorfulness of the film, which undoubtedly sets the tone for the narrative and regulates the mood of the viewer, the musical accompaniment to the picture certainly stands out, which, unlike some ridiculous jokes, appears just when the plot requires it, and, given the general surroundings, brightens up and sometimes even fills in unexpected gaps.
I would classify “Faster Bullets” to the category of high-quality comedy action movies, where action prevails, but at the same time, both the plot and the characters are well worked out, and the main advantage is the lack of preparation for what can happen next on the screen. Despite the fact that this is definitely not one of my favorite genres and the picture is not without flaws, I still recommend “Faster Bullet”, at least as something light, funny, and sometimes terribly stupid, but in all respects dynamic cinema.

The project has a primary source and this definitely helps him, how perfectly the set of entered storylines is formed at the end in a single picture, how skillfully hung here on time shooting Chekhov guns, a chic film. Definitely one of the best fighters of late.
Despite the seemingly simple obsession, because Pitt’s character only needs to steal a suitcase and get off at the nearest station, everything around it interferes. Starting from a bunch of other killers who, by coincidence, find themselves on the same train and ending with the hero himself, who actually replaces Rezchik, and he goes to a psychiatrist and refuses to use his weapon. And this is the beauty of the picture, yes, you will not find a smart message here, but it is a great entertainment and a way to distract from what is happening in the world.
The film is a mixture of films by Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino, almost all the time the characters are on the train and how skillfully the creators were able to show their interaction in different locations of a seemingly simple high-speed train. Many cool heroes who differ from each other, with their own characters and arches.
As a result, it turned out to be a very cool action movie with some crazy cast and pleasant cameos. Here the timing is absolutely not felt, the film is very drive with a lot of really cool jokes, the plot and the general concept just do not let you get bored.

The drought in cinemas continues. And it is not able to cope with either fairly extinct and just second-rate foreign films, or, it would seem, forever living classics, or even more so import substitution. And therefore, any quality film becomes an event.
Judge for yourself. It is unlikely that the same relatively strong film-survival One would be so noticeable under the former highly competitive conditions. Or our guest today is an action movie Faster than a Bullet. But we gradually learn to enjoy everything. Like the joke about the cat and buckwheat. Instead of, uh, Brad Pitt again, happily exclaiming, oh, Brad Pitt!
According to the plot, a mercenary with the funny nickname God's Cow, played, yes, Brad Pitt, gets a simple task in sight - to get on a high-speed train, pick up (or rather - steal) a suitcase and get off without reaching the final station. For a Cow-level professional, it's a no-brainer. If only for one thing. It turned out that the train is stuffed with killers, like a watermelon with seeds.
From the very first seconds, it becomes clear that for the director of the film, David Litch, the names Quentin and Guy are not an empty sound. Transitions, editing, dialogue. It was as if we had already seen it somewhere. It seems that faster than a bullet is filmed by a diligent student of directorial courses named after Tarantino-Richie. Even though David Litch is far from new.
For example, a couple of Lemon-Mandarin would never let Vincent and Jules from Pulp Fiction. With one difference, the copy was much worse than the original. Maybe it's just such a thick banter, but in moments, the dialogue of these guys looks a little moronic. And sometimes not even slightly, but annoyingly idiotic.
For example, when Lemon and his fellow fruit remember how many people were killed on a mission. Well, kindergarten is simple, by God.
Many dialogues, by the way, are completely stupid. As well as acting. A lot of pathos and overplay. The closest to normal, perhaps, only Brad Pitt.
The aforementioned Ritchie transitions are not particularly impressive either. Yeah, not bad. Sometimes. But in general, it is toothless.
Of course, you could say that this is not just the director’s fault. The concept itself is outdated. But Gentlemen and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood say otherwise. Although it should be noted that these two films are slightly different from the classics of Richie and Tarantino.
As expected (i.e. according to trends), the film carefully observes all modern norms of diversity. Hold on. Except for one. Oh, no. I forgot about Channing Tatum. That, by the way, is a completely incomprehensible character. . .
Of the good ones, I would probably single out Ryan Reynolds. His game is really hard to pick on.
The film, to put it mildly, is not a masterpiece. But for fishlessness and dynamism -
A professional killer named God's Cow (the incomparable role of Brad Pitt) boards a high-speed train to perform another task. This time it’s very easy – no need to kill anyone, you just need to find a suitcase in the luggage compartment with a baby sticker on the handle and go out with it at one of the stations.
But the task only seems incredibly simple. In the course of its implementation on the train, as if by the hand of a magician, seven more deadly mercenaries materialize - at first it seems that their presence in such a limited territory is a simple coincidence, but it is not so - and somewhere behind the backs of the main characters, a terrible shadow inexorably looms the head of the criminal world of Japan, nicknamed the White Death.
I love Agatha Christie-style detectives, where a dozen characters are locked in a confined space and the killer is one of them. In this case, the idea is brought to an absolute ideal - each character of this sparkling comedy action movie is a killer by default - but here is how they are connected to each other and what brought each of them aboard the passenger train racing through the expanses of Japan, we will learn as the film progresses. And each plot twist will not only be unexpected, but also unrealistically funny.
In addition to Brad Pitt, who seems to have been born to play the role of God’s Cow, in ' Faster Bullet' lit up a whole cohort of great actors, each of whom is simply perfect in his place. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (very missed this comrade, he has not been in major roles for a long time) and Brian Tyree Henry play two half-brothers, whose coordinated work sent to the light more than a dozen politicians and people in military uniform. Pretty Joey King (very similar in this film to Ana de Armas) only seems like a pretty teenager in a Japanese school uniform - it's a surprise in a miniskirt. Bad Bunny as The Wolf will plunge us into the world of either Mexican or Colombian gangster realities - with flared white jeans in the style of Elvis Presley, wide-brimmed hats and pistols, lavishly inlaid with precious stones. Zazie Beetz as Hornet we will see firsthand towards the end of the story - and we will be very surprised, because in fact this burning beauty has been with us since the beginning of the story. Andrew Koji plays a father whose purpose, unlike the others, seems clear from the start - he walked through the door of a train to avenge the attempted murder of his young son. But the real grand piano in the bushes will be his father (Hiroyuki Sanada).
In addition to the actual ' killers', his roles perfectly played Michael Shannon (did not recognize him with long hair) - White Death; Logan Lerman (he, in the process, in principle, had the most difficult task, and I did not identify him at all, he looks more like Johnny Depp here - only then the credits looked that it was Logan) and Masi Oka (pre-dog conductor). A separate kind of pleasure is Channing Tatum in the role of a fast-fucking gay passenger; his constant comments about the killers concerned only with their own survival are something. Sandra Bullock will appear in the finale, although her voice will accompany us throughout the film.
In general, the spectacle is as good as the best creations of Guy Ritchie - and plot twists along with comebacks and episodes ' 20 minutes before that ' very much resembles him. At the same time, over ' High-speed train' (the original title of the film) as if Tarantino worked - dialogues and rantings about the meaning of life over smoking corpses invariably admire, and splashing in all directions liters of blood as if Quentin had prescribed.
Bright, spectacular, full of good humor action movie, never ceases to amaze until the last minute of viewing.

Everything that ever happened to you brought you here.
If you, barely turning on the “Steam locomotive”, immediately caught a visual resemblance to “John Wick”, the coolest fights from “Kill Bill” and scrambled dialogue from “Deadpool” – then you are absolutely right – behind all this is David Letch.
The show should not end, which means that you need to give the next attempt of endless action on the mountain, because the train cannot be stopped, and if you quickly cram the most commercial persons into it, something, maybe a little, will definitely get cut down.
The plot of the “Sailboat” producers do not bother at all: “bad” Russians again, who still have the KGB, which, like in the last century, is fighting the “Russian mafia” – Hollywood cameras may have become better, but their brains definitely remained in the thorny 70x.
The only gold that can be excavated by rummaging through this heap of manure is caste.
For example, Michael Shannon, who organically found himself in the role of the leader of the Russians named White Death, which is also logical, primarily because in Russia it is cold, and snow is white.
By the way, this is how they think on many other issues, but let’s not slip into politically incorrect politics – try to stop digging deep or even digging. It's always about what's on the surface.
The only people who are serious about this circus are the Japanese, they live and die in the frame as many times as necessary, but you won’t understand a word, because the producers decided that “real” is worth leaving their dialogue in Japanese for the sake of it.
At some point I want to stop this absurdity, but I am a professional and must hold on to the end to go into the sunset with the winner, on the way trying to understand why.
Now that your expectations are ready to kick off the bottom, I wouldn’t mind if you killed your Sunday night for this $90M film with our newest sculptor Brad Pitt in pink Panama.
Maybe it was funny for the Americans, but this is only because our cliches with them categorically do not coincide, because their code is binary, and ours is infinite.
A great movie to distract and forget everything for 2 hours! Nothing serious, it's just a hilarious banter, with references to Tarantine comedies, not stupid or vulgar.
My version is that the film looks like an action movie, but it is not in its essence.
A fighter is usually about overcoming obstacles. There is a villain, he has minions, assistants - they all somehow meet with the main character and die or just lose. At the end of the big final battle. Then a general asks John Matrix ' Did you leave one for us?' And John answers 'No'
It is also worth noting that the action movie is allocated to a separate genre for action, which causes surprise, delight. Was it possible to throw people around? Well, I've tried, it doesn't work that way in life. What a great look it looks like!
And now 'Faster bullet' - he is very diligently pretending to be a militant, but his action is not as joyful as I would like. The scenes are well shot, technically, but as if without a hitch. For example, here we have Andrew Koji in one of the main roles. He has two seasons of Warrior & #39; about the showdown in Chinatown San Francisco in the 1880s. The series is based on the legacy of Bruce Lee and all exudes admiration for martial arts. The difference between any scene from here and from here will be seen, I think, by any viewer.
But this film is not empty. His director is just focused on something else. The director was interested in folding dominoes into an elegant picture, which will become even more beautiful when the knuckles fall. 'Faster bullets' he's about it. At the center of the action are a number of plans. Brad Pitt's hero has a plan, Kojia's hero has an intention, and others have plans, too. And there's a bunch of omens put up by the director. Somewhere there was a snake, someone mixed sleeping pills in the water and so on and so forth. After that, in the course of action, the knuckles will begin to fall, folding into an elegant pattern. Who will bite the snake, at what point the drunk sleeping pills will have an insidious effect, etc.
And in itself, it's fun to do. But it eliminates almost all the actions of the main characters. Let’s go back to the definition of action, hero, that will overcome obstacles. In about 70% of the action of the film will decide not fists, willpower or other qualities of the characters, and blind luck. Even if someone has prepared this or that trap in advance, it will work in the most unexpected circumstances.
So it turns out that the film is fun in its idea, quite beautifully implemented - but disappointing. Because I thought I was watching an action movie. And this is -- I don't know what it is, but I'm going to call it a comedy about fate being a bitch. Good, but bitch.
