The first Avenger in a skirt from the director in a skirt
Yes, an analogy, a banal copy of a Marvel movie. We are again shown a superhero during the World War, albeit the first. But now it's not a man in a slightly comical outfit, but a woman with a shield. Do you catch the analogy? By the way, the epic flight of the newest aircraft at the end with deadly content is also a copier from the movie about the First Avenger.
Remember the Hydra guy? Now look at the psychotic Nazi laboratory scientist. The face is familiar, isn't it?
But let's start at the beginning. The first episodes of the film introduce us to the future heroine, but in childhood. Children don’t know how to fake, as happened with almost all “old” DC heroes on the big screen. Think about the story of Spider-Man. The popularity of the main starting franchise from Marvel then brought the story about a young man, not about adult uncles.
The next thing DC and Marvel film studios have adopted is humor. The characters of Wonder Woman are constantly trying to joke, sometimes or even more often they succeed.
As a result, we have a good film, which was created by women for women and is a copy for the successful start of Marvel’s First Avenger.

Perhaps the film’s failure would be best explained by the idleness of its creators, but it’s actually more trivial than that – a simple lack of taste. Disgusting music just does not give rest to the whole film, it is not just not combined with what is happening on the screen, it is in itself bland. The place and time of action are worthy of only one word: template. It is also easy to endow this word with the plot of this film, but perhaps all modern comic books walk along the same path of three-stage plot apathy - acquaintance with the main character, the appearance of the villain and the triumphant victory of good. So in relation to the plot, the word template can be replaced with a softer one – “typical”. But perhaps the main question for this film is Princess Diana, why she is so tasteless and uninteresting, and even the notorious Captain America looks more expressive against her background. I felt sorry for Gal Gadot... It seemed as if the film is trying to hide all its shortcomings under the shield of morality, goodness, love, etc. while turning into a stupid, childish, boring fairy tale.
The most ridiculous image of the main character, the unnaturalness of everything that is happening, in combination with terrible music, in no case does not give the right to a person arriving in his right mind to call this film successful and moreover calling the film the best in the DC series, vulgar enthusiast ZhJ spits in the face of Zach Snyder.
Before Wonder Woman came out, it was very fashionable to kick the DC Cinematic Universe in the name of Martha and biblical references. But I loved these films, they were far from unambiguous, but they weren't the same. The Cinematic Universe was not the most careful steps, trying to be like his rival, trying to shove in the movies that crammed unrealistic. And for some reason, people, having seen not the best start of the universe, have already managed to bury it. No reason. But I don't want to talk about the universe right now. I need to tell you about a movie that was a dark horse almost all the time until the scandals started. Some people didn’t like that film because someone has shaved armpits, they arrange an official screening only for women, and the entire staff of this event should also consist of women. It made people talk about the film more and more. But I didn’t expect anything from the movie. The fact is that with the candidacy of Gal Gadot, I am familiar with my “favorite” series “Fast and Furious” and she frankly annoyed me there. It was the first time I heard Patty Jenkins. The only thing that attracted me was the setting. I love movies in the past, especially in the wild west, the first and second world and the fifties and sixties. But one superhero movie in World War II had already failed, which is about Captain America, so I didn't expect anything extraordinary.
The plot of the film is very familiar to all of us. This is almost a typical film – a solo about the formation of a character, transferred during the First World War. We are shown Themyscira, an island inhabited only by Amazons, which does not participate in the universal agony called war. What’s more, they don’t even know it’s coming until a pilot by Chris Pine approaches their shore. After the action scene, Diana, played by Gal Gadot, agrees to help the pilot and goes with him to war.
And I liked that the idea that there is no black and white, that there is no single villain and definitely a good character, until the finale came. I won’t talk about it, because spoilers, but it spoiled the picture a little. But still, the character faces the severity of the war, with ambiguous actions and this changes her attitude to everything that is happening. The character develops, and this is undoubtedly a plus.
Speaking of characters. Gal Gadot changed my attitude towards myself. She's playing great, and now I've completely dropped my claims on Wonder Woman. The character of Chris Pine interacts perfectly with Gal Gadot, all these dialogues, compressions, look very cute and cause a smile on his face. Other than talking about penises, he wasn't really fit. The film plays on the fact that Diana did not see the outside world, most jokes are based on this and this, although not new, still plays to the benefit of the picture. The rest of the characters, although spelled out, do not cause such warm sensations as a pair of Gadot and Pine.
The color scheme of the film varies depending on the locations. Themyscira is bright, colorful, carefree, London is gray, gloomy. But not as dark as, for example, Batman vs. Superman and not as gray as Captain America: Civil War.
That Batman v Superman theme that everyone liked is there, don't worry.
In general, we got a great solo film about the Wonder Woman. Everything, the atmosphere, the setting, the characters, the plot, except for the ending, play to the benefit of the film. If you want a great superhero movie, you won’t regret it.
I didn’t expect so much from a superhero movie. It was everything: adventure, fiction, action, romance, drama. Each genre changed so quickly that as a result, after watching the film, there is a strange calming sadness and a desire to see the continuation as soon as possible.
I liked the decision of the filmmakers to dedicate the film to how Wonder Woman became what it is now. Gradual familiarity with the character through laughter and awkwardness of questions like 'Are you really a man?' or 'What is the front?'
An Amazon girl from a different reality, raised on the ideals of honor and militancy, opposing the God of war - Ares. No matter how absurd at first glance this scenario may sound during the First World War, but it played well. The audience is in tension until the very end.
The end of the film takes the baton from 'Suicide Squad' and fuels interest in the upcoming Justice League.
The film impressed with its graphics, especially during the battle scenes. Vibrations emanating from the warring parties were felt almost on a physical level - this is the new era of cinema! It’s an amazing show you watch with your mouth open.
Separate praises to the composer, the main melody set the necessary pace, which increased the impact of those battle scenes.
The first film about a superhero (in this case, a superhero), where there is such an abundance of dialogue, and they were all good, and sometimes seemed stretched and drawn out, but the plot required it. The tandem Gal Gadot and Chris Pine looked very organic. The magic between their characters and how they influence each other can not but cause reciprocal emotions in the viewer. Every look or touch, every unsophisticated dialogue, it’s all too sweet to have a happy ending, '. '
David Thewlis played an unexpected role. But the role of Steve Trevor, in my opinion, one of the best in Pine’s career, no matter how loud it sounds.
The film is made incredibly beautifully, every close-up or landscape. Everything fascinates and makes the viewer believe in what the characters say & #39; The main thing is what you believe, and I believe in love.' This film is filled with morality, which is exactly what is lacking in the superhero movie of our time. This picture will give you a lot of emotions: from quiet laughs to quiet tears.
Things have been going badly for DC lately. 'Man of Steel', 'Batman vs. Superman' did not live up to the special expectations that audiences and critics placed on them. On 'Wonder Woman' it was not so much hope that a good movie would come out, and in my opinion it was very in vain. The film was surprisingly good.
Most often, a woman in a superhero movie is presented as a maximum assistant and personally I do not remember that she played the main role, which in itself already sets this film apart. Another reason to praise the picture is the role of Chris Pine, who played Trevor well. Usually in films about superheroes, all attention is paid to them, but here the story of Trevor was sometimes even more interesting to watch than the miracle of a woman.
Patty Jenkins’s directing work is fantastic. The plot, which at the beginning was not very interesting to watch, in the course of the film is gaining momentum and at the end you can no longer break away from the film, losing track of time.
Of the minuses, we can note a slightly drawn-out entanglement and the fact that at the beginning of the plot, still did not pull out, it is also clear that the authors did not bother to spend a lot of time and effort on explaining the plot of the story, since it was ripped from the comic book under a carbon copy. This movie doesn’t really spoil it.
Suddenly a good movie. Perhaps this is because in recent years there have been very few really good films in the cinema, all effects and the lack of logic in the plots. But. Wonder Woman was suddenly pleased.
The directorial work is good, there are directly memorable moments, although it would seem that everything has been invented and executed for a long time. Anne, there are interesting solutions.
The great thing is that there is logic in the film, strange as it may seem, talking about a film about an immortal, eternally living superhero. And modern films often sin the lack of coherence of the plot and outright stupidity in the frame for the sake of entertainment. Here we have both entertainment and logic of narrative.
The creators are generally good, guessed and with the amount of humor in the tape, and drama, and mixing one with another.
The actors are good and the casting was good too. Especially nice in the frame Gal Gadot in costume.
There on the island of Buyane, in the kingdom of the glorious Amazons.
Not being a great lover of comics and movies on them, for a night session from a small list of films I chose it 'Wonder Woman'.
As a child, there were many series on superheroes, but Wonder Woman came to me only in the Justice League, which I really do not remember at this moment. I went to the film without any preparation in the form of a character story, reading at least one volume of comics or watching videos related to it.
This is a typical comic book movie. A vivid, emotional film. Here everything is colorful, divided into black and white, there is evil and good, there is nobility and meanness, hatred and love. You watch a beautiful fairy tale in which you are immersed for two hours.
Yeah, we got a comic book movie. Flat heroes, absolutely empty villains, happy ending with bitterness and a lot of pathos. I don't care. I came to a fairy tale, not a drama.
This is a good old tale about a demigod who came down from the sky and gave people hope. It's a fairy tale about Aspis poisoning people with his blink.
Wonder Woman does not claim to be an ideal film, plot and the whole component. But meanwhile, the movie is worth the money spent, it is worth spending two hours on it.
Pure and sincere Diana is remembered for his excessive naivety (sleep for upbringing) and courage. Gal Gadot was not well suited for this role. For some reason, I cannot remember her character in the afterburners, but the role of Wonder Woman will clearly remain in my memory for a long time. And, perhaps, here we can say thank you to the operator and director of the fighting scenes including. It is thanks to them that Diana is remembered in all her glory.
Brave and overly straightforward for his profession, Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, is a good couple for Diane. But I think Pine's character was given a little less energy and time than they could have. Yes, it is interesting, memorable, but still something is missing.
Meanwhile, I would like to highlight Charlie (Ewan Bremner), Chef (Eugene "Brave Stone") and Samira (Sayed Tagmaoui). The trio held their place until the end of the film. The trio is the best at diluting Steve and Diana. Humor, feelings, stories.
We end up with a fairy tale. It has gods, people, great weapons, many feelings and everything else that is inherent in fairy tales. The tale is more adult and popcorn than thoughtful and instructive. But still a fairy tale. You won’t find a dark Gotham or a sunny Metropolis. There is magic in it.
I recommend watching the movie. Don't waste your time. Colorful, dynamic, interesting.
If I had been told 5 or 7 years ago that Wonder Woman would be DC Comics’ best cinematic work, I would have laughed and replied that this man was not himself. This is the best movie in DC Comics history. Perhaps the choice of a director, the choice of a woman director and turned out to be the very fateful decision that brought a vital result. My headline is a tribute to director Patty Jenkins and her decision to cast Gal Gadot. These are the Wonder Woman who made this movie.
It's about the comic book, and the first, most important question is probably the visual part of this movie. This is probably DC’s biggest problem. After all, the plots, and the characters they have quite decent, but the action scenes are either completely absent, or there are – but not enough, as the fans demand. In this regard, “Wonder Woman” stands out, and fully fulfills the requirements, precisely as an action movie. From a visual point of view, the film stands out from other DC works. It is lighter, more colorful, it has more optimism and kindness. Therefore, in terms of beauty, visualization and production, the film is flawless.
Gal Gadot as the choice for the main role, in such a film, caused many questions. This is a physical discrepancy with the character and not much experience in the movies, namely as an actress. After all, Gadot is primarily a model, with a lot of titles, and undoubtedly stunning appearance. However, her acting abilities and talents were in question. But, as it turned out, all these fears and reproaches against her - she broke to dust! Quite literally. From the first minutes it became clear that she literally lives the role and this is of course very important for any character. And only great respect and admiration caused her role.
Probably, some comparison with the films “First Avenger” and “Thor” takes place. Talking about DC taking the best of these movies and making the best of them is also appropriate and logical. And yet, what does that mean? That means DC has finally figured out how to do this kind of movie. The viewer in our time is difficult to surprise the novelty of the plot and a fresh idea. Now, more than ever, the implementation of this simple story is important. The production, the cast, the visual component, a little romance and humor – this is the ideal composition for modern cinema. And this lineup is perfectly matched and implemented by director Patty Jenkins.
10 out of 10
It just so happened that the DC Cinematic Universe proved itself not from the best side. The last movies, which in theory looked cool, turned out to be very weak and rather stupid. And after them, Wonder Woman, which was made more to reveal the universe than to imagine something large and bold, caused a fair share of skepticism and seemed an outright passerby. But now you can stop worrying - the film was a success and it is worth going, even if you have already managed to disappoint in the films from DC.
Of course, you need to understand that Wonder Woman is not a philosophical film of the same level as The Dark Knight: it is simply a pleasant film that raises important problems and reveals them well, while remaining entertaining. Here are absolutely beautiful and spectacular action scenes that do not tire, but on the contrary, cause children's delight. And most importantly, Diana doesn't look stupid in them, despite her suit and sword she uses against armed soldiers. Gal Gadot is absolutely beautiful in the film. I even want to scold Zack Snyder for the fact that in Batman v Superman her character does not cause any interest. After all, the director of “Wonder Woman” Petty Jenkins managed to make this character very cool and interesting, no less than Batman or Superman.
I don’t want to stop praising the film. Because he still has a lot of strengths. There are very interesting and well-disclosed characters that are inscribed in a pretty good plot, telling about the collision of two worlds - the world of Diana and the world of people - and this happens during the First World War, which gives the film a little drama. At the same time, the film does not slide into a monotonous setting: the writers deftly change the scenes even before you start to get bored and at the same time change the color scheme so that the eyes do not get tired of the same tones. As a result, the film several times changes the tone, then turning into a beautiful fairy tale, then into a gloomy action movie. In general, the picture in the film is just beautiful. The colors are very juicy and rich, but this does not cause any fatigue due to a competent combination of colors and a changing range.
But the movie still has problems. More precisely, the problem is one, but so serious that someone can spoil the impression of the whole film. At the very end, all of a sudden, a successful and licked plot begins to throw out the trouts in the style of Batman v Superman, writing off all previous efforts of the writers. From this moment, all the minuses that were characteristic of previous films of the universe come out: pathetic and bad plot, tedious and drawn-out action, unpleasant color scheme. One gets the impression that the final was completed by Snyder himself, and therefore looks exactly like another trailer for Justice League. On the other hand, everything that happens in the film up to this point is done so well that you want to forgive the film those last twenty minutes, or even better just forget about them.
Nevertheless, we got the first good film of the DC Cinematic Universe, in which the pros outweigh the cons, and the action component is so chic that the film I want to review at least for their sake. I would like to believe that the Warners will learn from this situation and will work with different directors without controlling their every move. In this case, DC films will have a chance for the future.
It’s not often that a woman plays a key role in superhero cinema, most often it happens more mediocrely, acting as the assistant of the main superhero. For example, Catwoman in Batman, Black Widow in Captain America, and so on. This time, the studio bosses decided to pay great attention to one of the first and, according to many main female characters in the comics, the warrior and independent, the main representative of all feminists of the world, invented under this context, "Wonder Woman".
This film, first of all, is a continuation of the superhero blockbuster "Batman vs. Superman", in which we were first introduced to this character, so for greater disclosure of the heroine and launches of further sequels, a separate solo film of formation was required, dedicated to this comic book hero.
From the point of view of a single movie, if someone hasn’t watched BPS and heard anything like that about merging all the characters in the comic book DC into one big movie (somewhere Marvel laughed), this picture also looks good. Everything in the film is fully explained and understandable. At the beginning of the film, the creators literally chew the curd, which can only be swallowed. A small disadvantage is only slightly its tightness. In some moments, it becomes unwittingly boring and you want more action, but this happens only in the second half of the film, most films of the characters' origins suffer from this problem, where the viewer first gets acquainted with him and the omission of small details can lead to a large mountain of misunderstanding.
At the same time, the film has a great message, such as justice should triumph, prove that you are right no matter what and most importantly, love will save the world. Some would say a typical feminine philosophy, but it’s worth noting that perhaps these words are true.
The film has good special effects, it is perfectly entertaining and the eye enjoys a beautiful picture. Beautiful panoramic plans, scenes of fights in slow-mo and of course music, militant and calling to action.
Gal Gadot perfectly got into the image and despite the mediocrity of the actress perfectly played. Well managed to show the belligerence and determination of the heroine, at the same time her clumsiness and femininity. This is a great job for studio bosses.
Of course, this film is not a standard in its genre, in the world of superhero cinema, at least about female characters. It has some disadvantages and roughness, but with a little consideration and they can close your eyes, because they are not significant. This film is a pioneer in the genre where the main character of the comics is a woman, so it is harder to judge what is better or worse, but one thing is for sure it is not the last.
I've been in love with Miss Gadot since the Furious. When I heard she was going to play Wonder Woman, I told myself I had to see her.
The film is very well balanced, there are no white spots. The director has a huge bow in this regard, and the writers. More than one minute of the film did not pass in anticipation or boredom.
Miss Gadot exactly plays, does not overplay and does not underplay I would refer Miss Gadot to such movie icons as Bridget Bordeaux, Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Streep. Gadot very accurately recreated the image of the goddess, there is no stupid female pride, no unnecessary snot, no typical female behavior for our time, which is why perhaps feminists and turned against the film because the film gives us not a goddess with super abilities, but a woman whose woman she was conceived wise and creative, restrained and ardent! This is just a perfect example of a woman, the wise said a woman was created to walk next to a man not to serve him. A huge plus of the film is the absence of scenes of a sexual nature, which are already tired. I will watch the 10/10 movie again. In the end I caught myself thinking that for the woman played by Miss Gadot, I too would die and would not regret a minute ... for such women is worth dying ... for a moment spent with them ... Best film of 5 years, if not centuries.
And the correct answer is: Wonder Woman. In this film, we are told the story of a superheroine who lived all her life on an island of Amazons hidden from the whole world. But as she grows up, she sees an English pilot crash on their island, and the Germans attack. Diana, understands that she can not leave the world in chaos and war, and decides at all costs to correct this. And for this she thinks that you need to kill Ares, the god of war, and then everything will stop.
So why did I bring the characters to Marvel? All events take place in the past, as in the First Avenger, and since she is to some extent a goddess, she behaves just as Thor does when she enters the human world. Everything is new, and the dress is not used to wearing the main character, because it is uncomfortable to fight in it. There were a lot of them, and that’s good.
So, Gal Gadot can not be called the lifeline of the cinematic universe DC. Yes, the film turned out better than previous recent films, these are Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. But he performed alongside Man of Steel, slightly ahead of him in terms of script. However, it has its own downsides.
But let's first talk about the good in brief. The story is presented well and beautifully. All events are consistent and the plot is very smooth. The villains are really villains, and the graphics are at a good level. Gadot really changes during the film, where at first she is a cute Amazon girl, and at the end she understands her purpose and becomes a real superhero.
But the bad ones have to be painted. Let’s start naturally with the initial logo DC, which again became similar to Marvel’s, although the first it is more cartoonish. If Marvel made a new logo and dragged in all their past films, which at the time of creation of the logo was 13, then DC not having so many films and heroes decided to show the scale, but he did not feel, but just caused laughter. Of course, this did not affect the film. Fight scenes look cool and put well, in places there were nuances, but this too can be ignored.
What I want to focus on most is the fact that DC hide the true villains in trailers and synopses, they say for intrigue. I have this intrigue that in Batman v Superman was not needed, that in Suicide Squad. In the first, the emphasis was on the feud of two superheroes and on the screen flashed Lex Luther performed by Jesse Eisenberg, and in the end the main villain was Dumsday. In the second, after watching the trailer, it is not clear who destroys everything there, and how they watched the film, they realized that this is the Magician, who in all the promos for the film was served as a member of the same squad, and not the main antagonist. They also decided to hide the villain behind two others: General Ludendorff and Doctor Poison. But Diana will still find Ares among the villains of the film, because someone is at war.
In the same way, everyone knows it as a dark organization in which the last battle scenes are always absolutely destroyed and do not always understand where the event is unfolding. Superman in solo destroyed the whole city to the ground practically, in the next film, the main trinity of the company, fighting with Dumsday, again destroyed the whole city. Suicide Squad - also devastation. What will happen to us in the upcoming Justice League? From the trailer, it’s clear that there’s another devastation, but there are a couple of houses in the background, so it’s a little better. I don't understand why you should do that. To give more pathos? DC And graphics, it's everywhere, especially at the end. I praised her in King Arthur's Sword, where I wanted more computer intervention because it was so cool, and the creators of Wonder Woman decided not to get too excited.
My decision is supportive of many: the film was really good, despite my downsides. It remains to be hoped that DC will provide that it is unlikely. And so you should go to it and do not need to review past films of the cinematic universe. Wonder Woman has raised the bar, and I hope it gets higher and higher every time.
Before we begin, I would like to say first that in this review you will not find a retelling of the storyline of the film, which you can see in hundreds of other reviews & #39; or numerous annotations, right?
Every year several films in the genre of comics are released on the screens. To be sure, Marvel is currently the frontrunner in a dispute with its rival DC Comics. Both Marvel and DC make movies according to their own canonical laws.
And DC presented its project 'Wonder Woman'. I just want to say that he did not surpass the competitors from Marvel, but at least keeps up with them. But this time DC decided to step back from its canons and strike a balance between drama, action and humor. And that balance turned out!!! Maybe it was not perfect, but still the film began to look easier, namely this ease and hides some blunders and shortcomings of the whole film.
So, what happened, changed and remained the same in 'Wonder Woman' from DC compared to previous projects:
The film is presented to us as a flashback about the life of Diana Prince. Pretty typical manner of presentation not only for DC, but for any other first solo films about the lives of heroes. These memories have everything: joy and love, bitterness, pain and losses that can be experienced not only by ordinary people, but also by heroes, superheroes and even gods.
I note that the entire film as a whole turned out to be consistent in the events in which DC found a place for drama, action, adventure, action and finally humor and jokes!!! As for the latter, it turned out to be good-natured, innocuous and not at the level of 'Steeba' as is often the case with Marvel, and that’s great. And yet... despite the fact that they were able to include all these elements in one film, there is one big BUT!... they could not combine and interweave them with each other, and it all looked like some separate stage blocks that do not overlap with each other (the action block here, the drama block here, etc.). As a result, a feeling of monotony of the scene is created and the impression of a suddenly vanished talent of the director, producer and screenwriter ... begins, for example, the action scene and everything ... then stupidly (sorry, but could not pick up another word) solid action until the end of the block. Unfortunately, at this point, DC did not change anything and was also incompetent in its rivalry with Marvel.
Separately, it is worth talking about the characters and actors who performed these roles. If the main characters performed by Gal Gadot and Chris Pine look flawless and played 110%, then the roles of the antagonists of the film, in my opinion, failed (and this is not the fault of the actors themselves, but largely due to the small screen time and lack of scale villains). Villains (Dr. Yad, General Ludendorff and Sir Patrick (aka Ares) not only look weak physically, but they do not represent fear to others, people see the fears of the war itself rather than the actions of the villains. But Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) is not only physically strong, she is strong in spirit and faith in people, which gives her a special charm. And yet her naiveté appeals more to her than to her. . .
Final score: 8.5/10 with advance for the future.
P.S. The film 'Wonder Woman' turned out beautiful, spectacular and ambiguous. I would recommend it to everyone.
I really like DC. I love their comics, characters, arches, games, TV series and movies.
I didn’t like Wonder Woman, though.
While you are preparing to throw me at hand objects, I probably argue.
The plot of the film is simple. On the island of paradise, under a protective dome, lives a tribe of Amazons, who were created by Zeus himself to protect humanity from the evil god Ares, who wanted people to kill each other. Evil Ares still managed to deal with the remaining inhabitants of Olympus, however, he disappeared somewhere, but promised to return.
On the mythical Themiscira, under the leadership of women, grace reigns, the Amazons train to shoot with a bow in a jump and generally fight. We don’t know why they’re doing it, because they haven’t seen anyone else for 100,500 years, and they’re not looking for Ares. Of all the miracles of women, Diana stands out, who secretly trains to shoot a bow in a jump and wave her sword, because her mother forbids her to do this. Everything changes when the American-British spy Steve (Chris Pine) falls near the island, and then the evil fascists... i.e. the Germans. Evil men die under a hail of arrows fired from a bow in a jump, simultaneously bringing lead into the body of 2/3 of the soldiers of the Amazon army. Steve, embarrassing Diana with his appendix between his legs, and us with jokes about it, reports that the world is in the worst war, which has already claimed the lives of 25 million people. Wonderful Dianochka decides that this is the machinations of Ares and escapes from the island, loaded with artifacts, although her mother does not allow her.
So, our main characters on a boat get to Britain, and all wrapped up.
Wonder Woman is a very strange movie. Rather, it is a collection of different stories. Here you and “Xena – Queen of Wars” with archery in a jump, and “First Avenger” with an evil German general and assistant scientist who kills his own allies. This is a movie about the horrors of war. There's romance and action. There are many plots, as well as characters, but everywhere the narrative sags and breaks.
The first half of the film is very long, filled with all sorts of clichés and stereotypes. Amazons, shooting with a bow in a jump fall out of the narrative and do not appear anywhere else. Why do we need them? Next we have a moment of humor about Pine's member, sex, feminism (more on this below) and the national minority. And this humor is so stupid that you can see how the big guys got together after the failure of those two guys and say “We need more humor!”
Diana becomes a victim of a feeling familiar to all men, when you meet a mysterious beauty, and when you begin to recognize her...
Speaking of feminism. Oh, my sweet summer child. There's a lot of him here. There is a contrast between the thriving Femiscira and the devastation of the rest of the world under the rule of rough men. These men, by the way, constantly quarrel, but Dianochka, clapping his eyes, tells them some right thing, to which they, out of envy, drive her to the cold. In general, men have two reactions to it here.
1) What does this woman do?
2) Gods, how beautiful you are!
All. Miracle woman here irritates with its naivety, high moral speeches and perfection. And she wins in battle, going with the remark “It’s also impossible!” in “no man & #39;s land” and points the peasants to the place with the phrase “men are needed only for reproduction, not for pleasure.”
The main character has a bunch of sidekicks that do not affect the plot. Here is the comic secretary Pine, who is needed only to twist a couple of lines about the emancipation of women, and also will put a counterweight to the ideal Diana. There's an Indian who needs to get a grand piano out of a bush -- sorry, a car. There is also an Arab who pretends to be a Turk, which allows our team to infiltrate the Nazi reception by playing a scene in front of a soldier. And of course, the Scotsman who only did two things in the whole movie. He warmed his eggs and sang. They all wear national dresses. Screenwriters fucked all the polymers, turning a PTS sniper into a comic retreat (hello to Ethan Hawke from The Magnificent Seven).
All this is corrected by the “horrors of war”, which are only for ticks. An evil German general, who does not twist a thin mustache on his finger, implementing his villainous plan. Funny Ares with a lush English mustache (even in antiquity!) And of course, tons of slowo. Slowo's in every fight scene. There's a lot of it. Nope! A LOT! Please don't do that. Hire a normal fight scene director and good stuntmen. You can even poach those who staged the elevator fight scene from the second cap. Even Batfleck did without slowo and it was still cool.
That’s the whole impression of the film. He said, “We didn’t do it like Marvel.” We don't even have post-credits scenes! See? And we sat for two hours watching the light version of the First Avenger with Gal Gadot. The bomb plane. I love you! Steve!
In conclusion, I will add a few thoughts.

In Wonder Woman, the ancient epic and the First World clash in an extraordinary way, but neither should be approached from the literary point of view. After all, any comic book is a universe of either pure fiction or semi-fiction. If you write down this fact in your mind, you will not pay attention to the fact that the history of the creation of the universe in the film has nothing to do with the ancient Greek, and the fact that the events described in it in 1918 did not occur. The main thing is that neither Hellenic mythology nor the 20th century looks like a cartoon comic. The style of the worlds and the reliability of communication of their characters are preserved. The ancient epic with Amazons is similar to some high-quality ancient fantasy, and you absolutely believe in the First World, just imagining that the authors have opened some of its unknown chapter to us. The only comic book person here is the one who is supposed to be – Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), making a journey from one world to another.
She spends her childhood on Themyscira, an island-like paradise inhabited by Amazons. And at first she is not a superhero, and Diana is an ordinary child, the daughter of the queen of the Amazons Hippolyta. One day, the queen tells her daughter the story of the creation of the world. It was once ruled by gods, the chief of whom was Zeus. Zeus created people happy and carefree, but his son Ares, the god of war, planted dirt in their souls, and then destroyed all the other gods. Zeus himself fell in battle with him, but before that dealt Ares such a powerful blow that Ares was forced to retire for a long time. But all the Amazons know that sooner or later he will return to finish the job of destroying humanity. And the only one who can stop him is our chosen, of course, Diana, who at the time of growing up is just beginning to realize her true power and true destiny.
Accelerates the process of understanding one anomalous episode – apparently, through a hole in space-time in the world of the Amazons gets a plane in distress. The main character pulls a pilot out of the water, he turns out to be a British spy Steve Travor (Chris Payne). And when, after a whole series of events, she runs off with him to stop World War I, i.e. stop Ares, a huge blunder appears in the film. There aren’t many of them in Wonder Woman, but there are. For in London 1918, the heroes do not fall back through a hole in space-time, as it was logical to assume, but just swim! Under sail.
But in the tape there is at least an attempt to create a clear philosophical or spiritual, if you want, concept. Unlike most modern comics, such as the same “Avengers”, where there is a primitive confrontation between good and evil, or rather, comic good and comic evil. Guy Ritchie called him Mr. Gold, Al Pacino said he had "so many names," and in the film He is called Ares. It is he who leads people to everything base, vicious, aggressive. “Wonder Woman” with a miracle sword and a miracle shield archangel appears in our world to overthrow Him, naively believing that by killing the evil personified even in Him, she will automatically destroy the evil in all people. To the enemies of the human race, i.e., the Germans, it refers not as villains, but as “slain by Ares”. That is, evil is a disease, a virus that penetrated into us through the ancient serpent-temptor.
The combination of holy simplicity and undeniable beauty makes Wonder Woman so attractive. This is especially true when the movie becomes a time travel movie. Diana's first appearance in early 20th century London is full of humorous and simply charming moments. Chris Payne calls her the most beautiful girl in the world and he's not far from the truth. And when Gal Gadot throws off her tight puritanical outfits and exposes everything that her superhero costume allows you to expose, you see that she is also sexy. And let her play sometimes as it turns out, but if acting talent is a gift of the gods, then beauty is also a gift of the gods. So why not replace one gift with another? In the theater you can not do this, but in the cinema with the proper cunning of the director it turned out more than once.
The clash of seemingly incompatible worlds mentioned at the beginning of the film is realized very organically. Let not as much as in the same “Torah”, where the action is completely transferred to our days, but much more interesting. And it's always nicer to look at a burning Israeli supermodel than a hard-headed Scandinavian pitcher. By the way, in the world of comics, such eclecticism is absolutely natural. The character of Wonder Woman appeared in 1941 – at the height of World War II, and then she, along with Batman and Superman, fought against Nazism. In fact, comics are the same epic, only the twentieth century.
It is very interesting that the creator of the comic book about a woman is the famous American psychologist William M. Martson, the inventor of the lie detector. The writer’s passion for this case could not but affect the character. One of the most interesting finds is a Wonder Woman weapon called the Lasso of Truth. At the same time, Martson is also a feminist theorist, and Wonder Woman is considered the first feminist superhero. The film itself did not get rid of the plume, especially since its director Patty Jenkins is a woman. But I did not notice any particular feminism, except for the scene of the discussion of the armistice, where the heroine Gadot breaks into the military council, which by the standards of 1918 was absolutely unthinkable. Otherwise, there is no fight for equality and that is good.
In addition to sometimes excessive naivety and logical blunders, the relative disadvantages include the lack of impressive, or rather new special effects. No "Woman" is made on conscience, but a very similar CGI, a very similar Slow Mo we have seen many times, and to say "Wow!" the film made only once: in the scene where Diana dives from a sheer cliff directly into the ocean to save the pilot. The camera kind of dives after it, and for three seconds you feel this indescribable sense of flight.
I was pleased with the female cast. In addition to Gadot, here, for example, one of the most beautiful actresses of the world cinema of the 90s Connie Nielsen, even in her little 50s preserving to become the golden age of Hollywood. Here is one of the most beautiful and simply the best actresses of the zero-tens Elena Anaya, playing the unusual role of the creator of a deadly gas with a mutilated face. However, in acting, it was probably interesting for her. By the way, Jenkins is the author of one of the most famous reincarnations of a beauty in a monster – it was she who made of the dazzling Charlize Taron “Monster”. The same Taron, who became famous for “Devil’s Advocate”, where she played with Connie Nielsen.

Wonder Woman is also known as Princess Diana of Themyscira, a fictional superhero who appears in the DC Comics universe. First appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941), created by William Molutlon Marston and Harry J. Peter.
I really liked this movie. I used to be with a character like Miracle – Woman didn’t know her, only knew she was Amazon and knew Batman and Superman.
Actors/Heroes. The cast looks very harmonious: Gal Gadot, David Thewlis, Chris Pine, Robin Wright and others. I like when you watch a movie, a story told by a director, a screenwriter, and there is a feeling that it was in fact, that it is not a mirage.
Gal Gadot is a new actress for me, she perfectly introduced Diana, a brave and brave Amazon, a defender of the oppressed, a supporter of good and light. Little Diana from childhood, seeing how the other girls trained, "sick" battles, training. Chris Pine's hero got hooked. Steve Trevor is brave, he is ready to help people like Diana, he has sadness in his heart. You can see that when he says he doesn’t know what it’s like to live with people. David Thewlis is known only by GP, and here he is in an unusual role, also attracted attention.
The film begins with the beauty of a truly divine island in the middle of the ocean, and when you see it all, you believe that it is the creation of Zeus. It is replaced by dirty and crowded London, where the straight-hearted idealism of the Amazon meets the reality of the military reality of the early twentieth century and is mired in intricacies of diplomatic intrigues. What attracted attention: there are no light rays, magic, a real severe war without embellishment is presented: the murder of children and women, trenches, shells, the world has already become another, where power and ambitions become higher than bright feelings.
There were many memorable moments: the way the story about the gods, the inhabitants of Olympus, the growing up of Diana, the journey by sea with Steve in a boat, their dance in a small village, still the film is not without humor and it is pleasing. This is a film about the most powerful superhero, a woman, with her own ideology (the main thing is love, goodness, light, not murder, fear, horror).
I love watching comics, I really like Marvel comics, and I really liked the Nolan adaptation of Batman. Every time something new comes out, you go out hoping it will be cool. And the Wonder Woman movie is good. There is something wrong with this soup.
I suspect the difference lies in the approach to the characters and the seriousness of the narrative. Well, who would compare here? Iron Man and Batman, for example. Both tycoons, both invest heavily in technology and fight crime. But... Iron Man is fighting some alien shit, not homeless people, it's just a different reality, so the criticality turns off. In a world close to ours, every logical joint becomes immediately noticeable. Plus there is a fair degree of self-irony, and humor in general. In Batman, the utmost seriousness and pathosity. Undoubtedly, the character of Batman is much better than Tony Stark, we know his past, his inner world. But this, most often, does not save the comic.
So what do we see here? A brilliant actress. Not often you will see such burning brunettes on the screen, and even in the leading role. Half the score for the film is definitely earned by Gal Gadot. Everything is very beautiful and spectacular: fights, explosions, various special effects. But...
First, we are told briefly, for five minutes, Greek mythology. It's got to be said that it's done with mistakes, well, come on, let it be, like, a different world. The question is, why did Zeus die? He seemed to be the most powerful god. Ares is fine, he's doing his best. It would be interesting to consider in general the question of the relationship of religions, because in one of the scenes the church is cut, and Ares is present. To what god is the church dedicated? This is my personal thought, but it would be interesting to get an answer to the question.
Ignore the scene with the Amazons and Germans, where the Amazon women, instead of stoking the Germans with arrows like hedgehogs, bravely went on a battering ram. That's what you got. It looks quite normal, because it is still happening on a fabulous hidden island. But, of course, reality makes itself felt.
And then London. Honestly, it was hard for me to switch from WW II to WW I, thinking about the strange technique all the time. Nevertheless. In London, we get all the jokes the trailer promises. A lady with a sword does not enter the door, a lady chooses a dress to fight comfortably, a lady walks into a locked room for a secret meeting, probably. Male. Okay. The rest of the jokes in the film are very weak and relate to the relationship between the sexes. Well, if you're focusing on the sword, why isn't the audience paying attention to it? This was not the norm at the time, but there was no reaction from society. This is very obvious.
When it comes to battle scenes... That's the ultimate pathos. Very beautiful, I do not doubt, Gal Gadot looks spectacular on the fire of bullets. But... She can't see anything from behind the shield! Why do all bullets fly only on one side, why does not one fly lower, to the legs, the shield does not cover the whole person? Oooh. Brain, shut down... 'It doesn't work out for us about WW I show'.
The final scene was good, by the way. So is Ares. He is often scolded, they say, do not correspond. I think it's pretty cool. He's adapted to time. If they showed a pumped muscular half-naked man, it would be boring, and there would be allusions to Hercules and Xena. It was really cool, for my taste. Yes, it is very beautiful, of course.
But... No again. Who are we getting into the new superheroes? Goddess! I mean, there's Superman, a hero who can do anything. He can turn time to sleep, as I remember from the first movie. But for some reason, he doesn't use this technique. But Superman's weaknesses are far-fetched. And now a goddess is added to it. Oh. How can you, where is so much omnipotent pathos? I'm really scared of going on. And by the way, why did WW II start when the cause of the wars was eliminated? Why is this aggression in the world of Batman? Hmm...
So overall, the film is beautiful. Excessively pathetic and very illogical, which is perceived critically, since the world is too close to the real. I watched it with pleasure, but after watching it there was a feeling that something was wrong. I guess I explained to myself what I didn’t like about the movie in particular and the DC comics in general. And it’s worth a look, what if it gets better and missed the beginning?
No, well, it was necessary to try so hard and do as ridiculous as possible: despite the difference in time, the miracle island, and unconvincing in all planes antagonists, but about everything in order, friends.
How? Well, how could it be removed, everything is so logical and with a huge number of blunders? This story begins with the island of the Amazons, whose background with strange animated sketches, not only that confused, and raises a lot of questions. I personally, as a connoisseur of myths and legends, could not forgive what I saw next.
Amazons - "breastless" - in ancient Greek mythology, a people consisting exclusively of women who did not tolerate husbands, went on campaigns under the leadership of their queen and formed a special warlike state. It came from Ares and Harmony. To reproduce the offspring of the Amazons came into contact with men of other peoples. Born boys they sent their fathers (according to another legend – simply killed), girls left and raised them new Amazons. Also Amazons in ancient times called a tribe of militant self-sufficient women who conquered lands, fought with men, took some captives (for procreation), but in everyday life did without them.
According to some sources, “Amazon” means “a mazos” – breastless. Teenage girls from the tribe with hot coals burned out the right breast, so as not to interfere in the battle. But this source can be questioned, because no surviving image of Amazons shows breastless women. Other sources claim that this name comes from the Iranian word “ha-mazan” – warriors. Another option is from the word “a masso” – untouchable (for men). A lot of treatises and versions and I understand that “this is a movie”, but still, I wanted the maximum similarity with myths, if you dare to show their peaceful island in the middle of an incomprehensible azure ocean surrounded by an invisible barrier. Not a word about the Amazons.
Further: incomprehensible jokes about emancipated women, about the statistics of male organs, a show on the battlefield (sarcasm to Gal Gadot is appropriate here, she is a top model in the first place, and only then an actress and it is noticeable), dramatic sketches about the suffering enslaved people, about the ridiculous laws of physics and finally - not terrible and terribly boring villains. I will highlight only - Doctor Poison, performed by the magnificent Elena Anaya, but it is catastrophically small. Everything else is very boring and sluggish. A lot of dialogue and little action.
From which I conclude that this Wonder Woman is as much of an awkward part of the DC universe as her predecessor, Batman v Superman. At the Dawn of Justice (2016)
DC – Come back soon!!

Diana (Gal Gadot) was born on the island of Themyscira, a beautiful piece of land in the middle of the ocean. Her mother, the queen of the Amazons Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), tried to protect her daughter from battle, war and sacrifice, because the main task of the Amazons is to maintain peace on Earth and resist Ares, the god of war. A chance meeting of Diana with a young scout Steve Trever (Chris Pine), whose plane crashes near their island, takes her out of the world of dreams and forces to plunge into the difficult time of the XX century, when the war has seized almost the whole world. Her unusual powers will force people to call her Wonder Woman, and at all costs she will have to justify their hopes and overthrow the treacherous Ares.
The image, created in 1941, was repeatedly filmed. 'Wonder Woman' Directed by Patty Jenkins is, in my opinion, the best adaptation of comics on the big screen. The beginning of the story very thoroughly tells about the formation of a superheroine. Its main goal was not so much to defeat the enemy, but also to raise the morale of tired soldiers. Love for people is her main weapon.
Gal Gadot is the embodiment of beauty, grace and grace. That's definitely her role. I liked the actress before, but now she has even more charm. It is especially interesting to watch the scenes where she is trying to make a London lady. Chris Pine played the role of Steve Trever, who would do anything for his country and peace on Earth. This is what unites them with Diana. It was great to see Robin Wright play a small role. Helena Anaya got used to the image of Dr. Yad, who ruthlessly poisoned people in the war. David Thewlis is a good actor, whom everyone knows for the role of Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter films, but in the role of the villain god Ares, I did not see him.
The film is full of special effects, there are always shootings, explosions, fights. I noticed some interesting twisted effects during Wonder Woman contractions. The music for the picture deserves some praise, it is powerful and exciting, and the main theme is constantly resonating in my head. There are touching moments in the picture, many of Diana’s speeches about peace and justice can touch many impressionable viewers, and scenes of military actions are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent.
DC has acquired another interesting character in its piggy bank, which now has its own history. The female image of the superheroine can still surpass Superman and Batman, to the anger of all misogynists. Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, is an image that deserves praise, especially in such a film adaptation.
P.S. We are now waiting for sequels and 'Justice League'!
I expected this picture with a fair amount of skepticism, because it hung over the oppressive atmosphere of all Warner Bros. films based on DC comics. Trust in the studio was little, given the rumors that the heads of the company do not care about the quality of the final product, as long as the money brought. Responsible for the direction of the DC Cinematic Universe - Jeff Jones, as if specifically not going to participate in the filming process of the first three films of the studio. It's like deliberately allowing such chaos in the DC Cinematic Universe. And after hearing the statement of representatives of WB, that ' from Wonder Woman you can not expect anything because the film took the same vector of development of the cinematic universe as ' Batman v Superman' and ' Suicide Squad'', it was easy to put an end to this film. It is also worth noting the failures of WB to organize solo albums ' Batman' and 'The Flash' from which directors and screenwriters constantly left, which gave reason to think that the producers were forcing them to work at a tense pace in order to rehabilitate and leave afloat a heavy, cracking and clumsy vessel called ' the DC' movie universe;. But luckily for everyone, director Patty Jenkins did turn out a good movie in this movie universe.
The plot tells the back story of Wonder Woman in the form of one large flashback, about her childhood and growing up. We’re learning a lot about where the Amazons came from and how they’ve been hiding from humans for so long. Here we are explained local mythology (based on Greek), what happened to the gods and tell about the antagonist. And immediately I have to give you advice when viewing: in order to properly perceive Themiscira, you need to accept the naivety of this place. Femiscira is detached from the rest of the world and for all the Amazons there has been no war for many years. All this time, the island was a simple paradise on Earth and our heroine had to grow in such an atmosphere. Not understanding the severity of the new world and becomes the main opponent with which Diana has to fight throughout the picture. We see how Diana perceives all the horrors of war, how her whole worldview changes, afraid of what terrible deeds people are capable of without any veiled villains. This picture is definitely good. Diana goes all the way and she changes, becomes the Wonder Woman we saw in BPS.
All the way with Diana goes her faithful colleague Steve Trevor, perfectly played by Chris Pine. There will be many fun and memorable moments between these two. There's chemistry between these characters and you really believe in that relationship. Acting in such moments is very good. Gal Gadot for the role of Diana Prince fits perfectly. The image was memorable. It’s also impossible not to mention the team that Steve Trevor hired, each character really revealed, despite some of their caricature, they have backstory, charisma and their own unique behavior. Against the background of the jerks from the first solo about Captain America, this is really perceived much better.
Despite all this, the film has a lot of flaws, even amusing the fact that critics and bloggers who have delivered DC movies before, in this film, some of them simply ignore. For example, the plot, most of the questions to him arises at the beginning, from some ideas and plot twists, I want to ask the question, and whether you came to the Wonder Woman in the cinema, it is all his critics now praised, leaving reviews of 80, 90 points? But it all ends when Diana and Steve leave the island and the next conversation lets you know what's going to be interesting. That is why you need to tune in at the beginning and if you need to endure.
Another problem is the main villains. There are three of them: two side, one main. Side villains lack good reasons for the viewer to be interested in them, and they are simply bad, despite the fact that the appearance and charisma of the actors give them good chances. But the main villain everything is a little different, unfortunately, here played an unsuccessful cast, the actor taken on him is really good, but this role does not suit him. Although it is with the main villain associated with one of the most memorable monologues in this film.
The action in the comic book film plays the most important role, which is why the main thing for the director is to make a perfectly delivered action component. Unfortunately, in this film, the action scenes are almost all uninteresting and tiresome, especially the final battle falls well under the last word.
Plus, of course, you can add a CGI of dubious quality. But it's a small thing.
Bottom line: we got clearly not one of the best comic book movies, it's not a masterpiece by any means. And the good news is, if you want to enjoy this movie, it’s best not to expect anything from it. This is a good movie in the DC Cinematic Universe. Here you will not find sparkling humor, memorable action or a shaft of cool special effects, but there are excellent dialogues, memorable characters and great acting. It's funny, because this is not found anywhere in modern comic books.

All women are like 'babs', a 'nbsp; I... one of them.
I’m not going to dance in the rain and celebrate DC, but Vanderwoman is wonderfully good! It was only necessary to change the director - and a miracle happened, a real miracle! Using a simple inductive method, I dare say that it is worth just continuing to do it, and maybe then DC will become the strong studio that it thinks it is now: dark, serious, adult, with a strong playful charisma that is unmistakably captured by older children. Some will say that you can’t compare two big universes, and it’s time to stop, but I’ve never been able to overpower myself. “Probably if DC does well, if they learn the lessons taught by Wonder Woman, they’re going to really compete with Marvel.”
Even if you have to walk on other people’s stones first.
War has been going on for four years in a world of heterosexual mortals. And let Steve Rogers to the second, does not leave the feeling that he is somewhere not so distant with his team of Roaring hydrants. Steve Trevor and his team of Roarers (because they're all emotional) are kneading Greek gods on another front, and should never meet them, because the first Steve will immediately see that he was ruthlessly plagiarized. Let's see: the hero of extraordinary strength, pure and innocent as just blown glass, ready to break & #39; into war & #39; leads a brave team, which has a few colored, cool sniper; the guy with a mustache speaks French; brown-eyed beauty distributes lulas to unsuspecting bums. The team must stop the enemy forces, who have prepared for the whole world a terrible weapon capable of destroying people, thousands of them! Steve ends up on a plane. Which movie do I describe - Wonder Woman or First Avenger?
The difference between Diana and Steve Rogers is that the former is a woman. And my God, how important that is! For decades, the comic Vanderwoman, with these huge muscles, the lasso in his fist and in open armor was an icon of feminism and lesbians, but, as it happens in comics, showed a couple of facets of a real living organism - whether it is human or divine or alien. Today’s Diana, filled with fiction voman Gal Gadot, naive as a woman, gentle as a woman, emotional as a woman. She screams, kicks, cries; whines ' no, no, no!' and waves her arms like a woman. She is beautiful, flirtatious, and she can be stunned with a rude word, rude treatment, because she is a woman. That's the point. That's what a symbol should be. She thinks, rushes, confronts problems, doubts, worries, and ends up giving out with her feet because she is a warrior. One thing does not interfere with the other, and Lara Croft, female Ghostbusters, Stripperella and Lois Lane have nothing to do with this.
We have already seen the divine affairs that the gods have to decide among themselves in the ninth number of films, and there is nothing particularly new here. It’s worth noting that all of these films – from the new Hercules to the Gods of Egypt – look very cheap and funny, because filmmakers for some reason only have one look at the ancient Greek / Egyptian showdown. Lightning, rumble, flying tanks, and that’s all.
A beautiful contrast to this divine showdown is the human heroism that, again, we have seen in Captain America. Apparently, who hurts - I recognized my favorite superhero and his incredible military adventures in almost every shot of Vanderwoman, but is it worth it to marry her? In my opinion, no. She has her own story in the same scenery. In addition, different forms of human tragedy are never boring, especially if they are filmed from different angles. The problem of the Man of Destruction, aka the Man of the Order Tired, has been mutilating us for decades, and each time we come to an optimistic conclusion: yes, we deserve salvation, because we have good in us. Does this have anything to do with the fact that 100% of the films that ask this question are made by people? I don't know.
It's not that: it's how beautifully the evolution of Diana's thought is shown here. She arrives in the human world absorbed by her fantastic illusions about a simple solution to all the troubles in the world (Man), and ends up with a real hardener (Amazon). This can be regarded as a symbol of the spiritual growth of the Homo sapiens, the same Steve (any of them), or any of his companions. While poorly realistic 'gods' and 'Titans' solve their too global problems, which can be described in one word, what can man? Sacrifice yourself. Inspiration. Decide. To bring hope back, to bring hope back. The big grows out of the tiny, as Diana's potential was released by the little man, and the good became great.39
In the interval between her two hypostases, she watches us, but not laughing at our pettiness and haste, like Thor, but quietly wondering to herself and not ceasing to ask various questions.
Diana’s power is actually overwhelming, and it’s already clear that if Snyder and Whedon didn’t kill the League, she’ll give everyone a good talk, make her way to a lot of solo sequels, and in general, score a very serious shooter Black Widow. And I'm not kidding: after all, the Widow does not have solo, and Whedon has recently been closely studying her.
Yes, there may be a lot of comparisons to Marvel and his characters in my review, but 1) let DC stop dragging everything from them; 2) all the characters in the comics are basically similar to each other in one way or another. They will always be compared. Consider it a civil war, and then there will be some excitement.
Going to the movies was made by the incessant rain, very laudatory reviews and the desire for a shiver, projected by these factors - well, why not write a couple of lines because of this.
I will immediately say that, by and large, the film has only one (but very weighty) plus - Gal Gadot, without any discounts, a lady of outstanding external data and, with all the emphasis on strength and independence - very feminine. All this could not overshadow even the diligent copying of Lara Croft performed by Angelina Jolie (although the gait and posture are more likely due to the similar physique, both heights under eighty meters) in those two films that were also remembered only by the lead actor.
However, (I didn’t think that I would write about the characters of the comic book film) it is necessary to pay tribute to the director with the screenwriters – the resulting image is very balanced “from the point of view of the consumer”, because the box office success of the tape, in my opinion, to a large extent ensured getting into all the target audiences, not allowing distortions in favor of the vision of one of them – who wanted, got a strong woman who is not just “such”, but quips healthy men, and a very attractive woman (it is a woman, feminism here more in the plot plot plot, and not in the image and even more flawless) and without looking at any game.
Everything else (the plot, video and sound sequence) to describe does not make sense, because the film on the comic book a priori "in hard disadvantages" on the first point and good on the other two; I note only that the play of the actors does not cause much irritation, and in the plot was pleased - coverage of the origins of Nazism, amused (sorry, I can't help but analyze even comics) - Diana's installation that "people are good, it's all Ares" and the immediate extermination of German soldiers by all available means upon arrival "at war".
In general, if there is nothing to do, it is suitable for joint viewing.

(5 points of which for Gal Gadot)
PS. I don’t know about other comic book characters, but to me, making a “superhero” that combines ancient Greek mythology and modern reality is obviously a plot idiocy.
Pss, here I wrote for You, why the film is not so cool as
Hello friends of interest!
Of the three dozen who assessed today for lunch, the first six emerged (I am now talking about points), and the situation in general is such that Gal Gadot is very beautiful, but this does not help the film so much. Let me tell you why.
You know, an Amazon on an island hidden from the outside world is engaged in combat training to fight a hypothetical god of war who, suddenly, is tyrannizing the enlightened world beyond the open map. Here, the first “why?” are pecked on changing pictures, because if Kuna leafed through during the childhood holidays, things like the overthrow of Igor Nikolaev from heaven are no less surprising than the villain’s desire to nail an unworthy humanity, the essence of which is a constant conflict. Opening an article about Ares online, you can find that he himself preferred a bloody war for the sake of war itself, but if humanity does not become, and the gods are sawed out, then Ares will have nothing to do. And no one (there is a fan theory that he just wanted to stay in the green gardens one-on-one with Gal Gadot).
Meanwhile, it is revealed how the Amazons continue their family without men and why having ships never left their comfort zone for exploration. I'm kidding, it doesn't open. It's the frivolous Chris Pine who leads a war into paradise, a war that the proud and independent did not seek, even though they seemingly should have. Themis generously sprinkles assumptions from the cornucopia, and here hordes of Germans about three boats storm the beach, the ship’s backport with artillery falls silent as soon as one remains alive on the shore with “a little more than the standard”, and the Mazons, it turns out, are quite mortal.
The place of dislocation changes, tolerable jokes in confined spaces throw a couple of pluses into karma. However, the period of adaptation rather occurs due to the picture, in moderation dirty for the desired contrast with the brilliant bronze and gold armor. But when the team joins the guys from the photo, somewhere in the world sad one advocate of common sense: all these brethren in the end serve only as eyes and comfortable dolls in the hands of the writer. They know how to sing, make faces, laugh about the barbecue and burn tires near the German base, yes; they do not know how to fight (however, like the blind subjects of the Kaiser), the ratings are the same. For the same reason, Diana, when breaking into a room with the enemy, first of all, smashes not themselves, but wooden supports.
Then the son of God lightning did not fall into the image at all, and the terrible weapon was so conveniently equipped with timers with a destination not somewhere at the front, but in the beloved’s hometown. In the meantime, lost FAQ to the superpower of the German general on speeds. The red thread in the epilogue traces the idea of faith in humanity and love that will save the world. Of course, this is the purest truth even outside the framework of the narrative, and it makes no sense to argue with it. But if someone says Vanderwoman is a vanderfilm, please don't say yes. At least not immediately.
I’m not a big fan of DC movies and comics, but I love Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and I didn’t expect anything unique from it and I loved it. Very catchy and cool graphics and in general the color scheme of the whole film. There are jokes that are very appropriate, dramatic moments where you can really grieve, and, of course, the staging of fights looks very dynamic and sometimes even very fantastic, but this does not make the film a minus, but on the contrary, for a moderate amount of high-quality action, the picture does not let you get bored.
Synopsis
It all starts from the youngest age of the main character on the island of Amazons (Temiscira), as in the very beginning there was everything bright and cheerful, immaculate, so as you grow up the whole color scheme became darker and gloomy, as the very message of the film at the end is dragged into a stronger drama. You can see how the character grows, so to speak, is tempered, again all the naivety and kindness that she had from the very beginning and closer to the middle of the film, she is aware of all the “charms” of life and war, but at the same time all the virtues remain with her to fulfill their purpose. And against the background of her destiny, she becomes obsessed with finding the war god Ares, and to some extent she becomes blind and does not see the real enemy. Perhaps this is not a secret for anyone, but due to the fact that in the end it will get even with him, then nothing will change in the future and the same wars will occur, I think if anything, they could start telling the story directly from the Second World War, or somehow all this looks absurd, especially with the realization that after the death of Ares absolutely nothing will change, although he himself is the instigator of all wars. It’s very strange that in Batman v Superman she helped them against Doomsday, and Hitler and his Nazi army were not a threat to the whole world in World War II.
Actors
Gal Gadot played (Diana) very well, where you need to show the dramatic notes of the acting game, and sometimes just anger, the staging of fights is naturally done with the help of graphics, but the tricks of her character look very vivid and interesting, as in any ordinary blockbuster, she looks very chic and stately, beautiful, to become a real woman with straight carved on stone sharp Greek features. Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) - played such a very cunning and agile agent of British intelligence, which repeatedly helped to survive both him and his fellow friends, he and (Diana) turned out to be a really lively affair, which you believe, between them there is a certain "chemistry of relationships" and their game does not seem false, but on the contrary causes admiration. Also lit up the actor famous for his role in “Harry Potter”, playing a strictly ambiguous character with very typical and inherent in such characters character with quite obvious motives and actions, which does not particularly distinguish him from other antagonists. The rest of the ensemble played well, in some places it can be pathetic, but not dorky, everything is in its place, especially the team that Steve assembled turned out to be funny and touching with their problems and stories.
Result
"Wonder Woman" - a good entertainment product with a sea of special effects, which turned out to be an excellent solo album telling about the formation of the classic superhero Diana from Themyscira, perhaps in some places the plot looks stupid and not new and worn out, but all the action seems very dynamic and juicy, especially when the staging of fights is supported by lively music. I liked the transition from a brighter beginning, descending into real reality with all its “charms”, where everything ends with a good emotional point.
The DC universe didn’t work out right away: the previous three films were different in quality — some were good and some were not. Nevertheless, the comic book franchise needs to continue and the next film in line is a solo film about Diana Prince, better known as the Miracle – a woman.
All her childhood and youth she spent in an alienated and hidden from human eyes island. Inspired by the desire to save people, she dreams of becoming an Amazon, only her own mother and queen want to protect her daughter from the coming dangers. But one day, one incident forces Diana to finally understand her calling and she still goes to war.
After “Suicide Squad”, which had a lot of shoals, blunders and just delirium, the new film about the Amazon looks fresh and very pleasant. Of course, there are shortcomings here, but not so many of them. Instead of a whole cabbage of heroes, there is a compact, clearly written story of one character. The visual style, as in fact and past DC films, is amazing - there is no need to dig in, an interesting and gloomy setting of the First World War, a good action, good humor, even if it was not enough - these are the advantages of the film.
In the negatives, I would take the final third act and the main villain. Well, probably a small claim - I do not see this movie in the DC cinematic universe, well, there are few twists and turns and references to past films. Marvel believes that each of their films is a single story. Here, this connection is sewn with white threads. But in fairness, this is only the fourth film, and this relationship will be fixed with each new film. Well, maybe I'm just not a geek, but an ordinary viewer and something I missed or didn't understand. In any case, the film turned out to be extremely good, to watch as a summer blockbuster is a must.

I am, in principle, fascinated by modern superhero films made from comic books. All of them are colorful, emotional, with excellent humor and magnificent heroes. I can confidently say that 'Wonder Woman' is the best part of the DC and Marvel universes combined!
Going to this movie, I expected anything, but not such a flash of emotion after watching. The atmosphere of the cinema has borne fruit - such films definitely need to be seen only in the movies!
Plot on 5+. That was great! From the first minutes it became interesting how the fate of little Diana will turn out, and after the appearance on the island of the Amazons of Steve, the film finally enveloped me with its indescribable fantastic atmosphere. Three such different times and places are very harmoniously intertwined in the cinema - the present, the First World War and the paradise island of Themyscira, isolated from the outside world. All two hours of viewing is a complete pleasure.
The main character on 5+. I know for sure that this actress is the best possible embodiment of Wonder Woman. This is my new love, I’m fascinated and blown away by the actress Gal Gadot, and her character is now my favorite comic book character. I wish new bright roles to this wonderful girl and, of course, as many continuations of this movie with her participation as possible.
5+ humour. Bless all of you, babe! In addition to the sad, cute, tense and exciting moments, the film has excellent humor. All right, thanks for that.
I want to thank all the creators for such a perfect picture. It's a beloved and rare feeling of euphoria after watching the movie with me again! He deserves only the highest score, and nothing else.

But they know the Warners how to copy from Disney, copy not everything, but only parts, competently inserting into their film. Copying is not clumsy, but clever, only those things that really work. The Warners are able to work on mistakes, not to invent a bicycle, but to look into the past, during those comic books for which the viewer was not ready at that time, but is ready for them now. They are able to get the right directors who can show the character correctly. The Warners understood that it was time to make films not stupidly based on comics, giving the director's chair to ardent fans of them, and those films that people would like. And people like a sincere movie with sincere heroes who know how to play. And here the choice of Wonder Woman was more successful than ever. After all, who else can be sincere and naiver than a hero who has never seen a single person in the eyes.
And it turns out to be in the circle of people during the most dangerous hostilities of the First World War, so there are more than enough fields for activity. There are plenty of fields for spectator tenderness - all actors play as if they are fighting for the cherished statuette - it is a pleasure to look at them. Dialogues grab the hidden corners of the soul, inspire, crush tears, excite. Many platitudes of the film are forgiven, especially banalities in the same dialogues, because for the hundredth time I will repeat the sincerity that decides everything in this film: the character will pronounce a phrase engraved in hundreds of films, and the viewer will look at him with eyes wide open and smile sweetly.
Of course, you don’t forgive everything, to be honest. No one here solves the villain problem. This problem is even completely ignored here. Yes, Gal Gadot, and Pine, in part, strongly pull the blanket of the audience’s attention on themselves, but this is not enough to hide the complete absence of any disclosure of villains, such as we have not seen since the time of Marvel’s Guardians with the second Thor. You can not ignore the abruptness of the narrative, which will constantly alarm and from time to time drive the idea that the film is not so good. Well, humor, of course, which, although it hits the target by 50%, and even very epic, in the case of the second 50% do not fall on as terrible as the good first half. Sincerity, lightness, beauty, charisma and a beautiful visual that I forgot to mention – this is the recipe for a strong superhero movie. Frodo can relax, the eagles kind of flew in.

The DC Cinematic Universe is not as rosy as we would like. "Man of Steel" was a controversial one, Batman v Superman: At the dawn of justice" received more bad reviews from both critics and viewers, and almost the same fate befell the "Suicide Squad" although this did not prevent him from receiving an Oscar for best makeup and hairstyle.
Wonder Woman is a fictional DC Comics superheroine. She first appeared in the 8th issue of All Star Comics, released in December 1941, and became a regular DC character, appearing in comics for 70 years, except for a short period after the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1986, she is also an Amazon princess (based on Greek mythology), known in her homeland as Diana. Diana is an experienced warrior, has superhuman strength, speed, endurance, knows how to communicate with animals, and also uses the Lasso of Truth, with which she can make you tell the truth, and indestructible bracelets that serve as protection.
Diana appeared regularly in comics beginning in 1941, became one of the most popular characters in the Golden Age of comics, and was one of five stories that continued after World War II. She was a member of the Justice Society of America (1941) and the Justice League of America (1960). As one of the few popular women in comics, Diana is a serious, experienced heroine, but at heart, kind, friendly and merciful, ready to help others, is considered a feminist icon and an extremely attractive woman not only by the standards of superheroes.
This is the plot of the movie. Before she became Wonder Woman, she was Diana, an Amazon princess trained to be an invincible warrior. And when an American pilot crashes on the shores of an isolated island paradise that served as her homeland and talks about a serious conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home to cope with this threat. And there, fighting side by side with man in the war for peace, Diana will discover the fullness of her power... and her true destiny. Yes, the plot is quite simple, but this is not a minus of the film.
I'll start with the pros. It's over music, great acting. Especially the naive optimism of Diana, who has never seen the horrors of war and human cruelty. Horrors, in which everyone is guilty, without looking for one guilty person, on whom you can blame all your sins. Wartime atmosphere is shown in colors and selected locations. Also special effects on the level. I was very pleased with the fight.
Now for the minuses. It's the main villain and the ending. The main villain turned out well so seriously one frame, it is one frame from the scenes with him that undermines his entire image and causes the whole hall only not much ridicule. And the ending is typical for the comic book, which is not much hurt compared to what was before.
Outcome: This is the first successful film of the DC Cinematic Universe. Which is definitely worth going to. There will be no scene after the credits.
1) Two title roles were played perfectly: Gal Gadot is irresistible in the image of Diana, she is very beautiful, natural and incredibly charming; Chris Pine also perfectly embodied a British intelligence agent, the character came out quite charismatic, and the joint scenes of Gadot and Pine are one of the indisputable advantages of the picture;
2) a suitable plot and scenario: when watching I was almost not bored, the actions are developing interesting and dynamically;
3) cool action, and especially cool it becomes in conjunction with the following item;
4) a chic musical accompaniment, and the main theme is perhaps the best superhero composition of recent times;
5) good graphics, but with their flaws + brilliant visual series: and Temiscira, and London, and the military entourage are endowed with memorable and appropriate colors, colors;
6) what is the result? This is really the best film to date, the main thing is that the picture is perfectly balanced: doses of humor, drama, action and other elements are presented in such a proportion that makes the movie so wonderful.
Of the minuses, I note the sagging graphics in individual scenes, ' awkward' the use of secondary characters, well, and the main claim: the antagonists of the film. There are several of them, but they all turned out to be none: cardboard, template (only Doctor Poison is less good), and the use of Ares in the end turned out to be quite bad. As a result, a weak ending against the background of everything previously shown.

Am I the only one who didn’t like this movie? So many positive reviews and reviews have been disappointing. I watched this tape to the end only because of Gadot: after all, she performed the image of a warrior perfectly. But... This is the third American-made picture that leaves behind a state of powerless malice. The previous ones were “The Great Wall” and “Assassin’s Creed” (these two tapes I could not force myself to inspect, because the amount of delirium on the screen began to go off scale).
That's what I want to say. These pseudo-historical sci-fi movies a la Hollywood just blow my mind. Well, how much can you invent parallel universes, where the "white man", preferably American origin, saves the world. Realistically, knowing that the Chinese built the Great Wall to protect them from the Huns, it’s hard to watch a movie where monsters attack the Chinese. Returning to Wonder Woman, I want to say that now the narrow minds and long pens of Hollywood writers have reached the First World War. I want to shout, "People!" This will be seen by the immature minds of the EGE. They will believe that had it not been for the efforts of an American spying for Britain, the war would not have ended.
That’s what annoys me, it’s a game of facts: some phantasmagoric cluster of ridiculous characters (like the lady “Poison” and the crazy German generals), events and plot twists. All my anger is directed to the script. It is raw, uninteresting and predictable. And the film, alas, did not save the presence of such a wonderful woman as Gadot. Wonder Woman’s appearance was more dramatic in the Batman franchise when we didn’t know she had a controversial past.
That's just my humble opinion. But judging by the number of positive responses, it is clear that this film has many fans. So, someone needs such mediocre stupid tapes.
