You can’t say otherwise, because for a long time I haven’t watched a horror movie or a thriller with such genuine interest. Yes, let the plot moves in places are predicted in a few steps, let them be beaten, licked to shine stamps, anyway, this movie rises two or three heads above most of the fellow genre, speaking from the general mass, whose name is legion.
Why is this movie so good? And he is good for his leisurely, measured simplicity, acting, the general quality of filming and smoothly inflated atmosphere of anxiety and inevitable denouement. It is a complete absence of unnecessary characters and superfluous events. Everything here is level. Until the end.
There is nothing to say about the story - people are in trouble. And salvation will not come to them in the form of deus ex machina, because then the whole narrative would have no meaning.
In general, it is worth seeing.
Oh, guys, how happy my inner demon is. From 20 minutes of viewing, I knew I wouldn’t regret playing this movie. A good horror movie, which is very tense, throughout the viewing. The story of hereditary pathologists of a small town, who one rainy evening bring the corpse of an unknown girl. And when the father and son begin to autopsy, all wonderful things begin to happen!
What did you like about this movie, a man like me? Well, first of all, the fact that the main characters do not commit stupid acts, in the style of “oh, what is this?” Let's go to the dark basement! Let's split up! Let's dull a little and breathe loudly! Or we'd better close our mouth and breathe louder. And that in it, there is almost no “boo effect”. And the fear presented to the viewer is very deep in its essence. Imagining himself in place of GG becomes a cape as not in itself. Men, every time, try to explain everything and really look at things! And that's really cool, I'll tell you. This makes you afraid, because unlike them, you begin to understand that what is happening is never normal! Logic. The actions of the heroes are very logical, we are directly shown such fearless, real Men. The ending is pretty good. In general, the film went very well and stands out against the background of any garbage that is now called Horror! So, guys, I highly recommend tickling your nerves! I'm sure you'll like the movie. For those of you who are with me on the same wavelength, he will definitely come!

"There are worse things than death." Like not seeing this movie.
Oh, how nice it is sometimes to stumble upon, I am not afraid of this word, the original film. And ' The Demon Inside' that's the movie. Not every day you can see on the big screens a movie based on forensic examination. This occurs infrequently, but since the time of ' Body Investigations' and is not remembered at all. But here it is, 'The Demon Within' In general, watching this film is incredibly pleasant, as everyone tried to fame: fear, sadness, hope is felt by the brain of bones, the musical accompaniment only enhances this effect, and the cinematography is completely immersed in the movie, you should not even talk about the editing, because it is not felt, and this is really a sign of level. And yet there is a small drawback, namely the crumpledness of the end. How did Tommy know Jane Doe's motives? This raises the question of his further actions. And in general, the main characters learn about the causes of her death too easily, which creates a very ambiguous impression.
But the film is extremely good, and I recommend watching it for all fans of the horror genre. And the film deserves it.
I am not a fan of horror films, but I decided to diversify my life by watching this kind of film. The feeling is twofold. I liked it and I didn't.
The beginning is interesting, intriguing. But after the middle it became boring and it is clear that there were no mysteries in principle!
Well, they cut a corpse, they found things inside, and the truth was simple for me. So much in the beginning that really interested, and then the nonsense started. Everything is on fire, and the doors open around and the corpses walk. That's too much!
The theme of the film is interesting, but the plot could not be promoted. As a plus that in some moments was really creepy, which is typical of any normal horror film.
Good actors and their acting. What to judge when the film is only a couple of characters and scenery. In general, the film is not boring, very interesting, but I expected to see a little different. Ambiguous impression.
If the second part comes out, I will say the phrase from the film: 'Fuck it!'
Recently, a lot of good horror films have been released, which have breathed a new round of life into the genre where it seemed and there was nothing to surprise. But there are talented craftsmen who bring fresh ideas and find ways to surprise the audience. 2016 in terms of the number of good and high-quality horror films and mystical thrillers was very successful. I remember such films as "The Conjuring 2" by James Wan, "Don't Breathe" by Fede Alvarez, "And the Lights Go Out..." by David F. Sandberg and a number of other equally cool films. Nor did he lag behind the Norwegian director Andre Ovredal, who presented his remarkable chamber horror to the public.
The film takes place in the morgue of a small provincial town. Pathologists father and son examine the body of a young girl and try to establish the cause of her death. There's nothing more to say. It is better to see the picture as little as possible.
The film was made for little money and with minimal funds. The atmosphere of tension and fear is fueled by excellent directing, strong acting work and a well-developed script. In addition to mysticism, there are elements of a detective in the picture, since the characters are essentially investigating. And also the notes of family drama.
Unfortunately, the shortcomings could not be avoided either. There are some standard stamps and clichés. And the mystery of everything that happens is not always exactly conveyed to the viewer. The ending didn’t seem so original to me. But all the disadvantages are leveled due to the advantages of which this tape is endowed.
The actors are well-known. Brian Cox and Emil Hirsch played father and son of pathologists very confidently and generally left positive impressions. Oluen Catherine Kelly appeared in the image of the very mysterious girl who the whole film is just lying on the table, but one of its appearance pumps up a genuine sense of fear and horror.
Demon inside Good mystical horror with elements of a detective. With an interesting non-trivial plot, with good acting work and a perfectly conveyed atmosphere. The disadvantages do not allow the tape to become something more, but it is certainly a worthy representative of its genre.

So, The Demon Inside - a horror film, which was released in the world in September 2016 at the festival in Toronto. In Russia, the premiere took place on March 23, 2017. I couldn’t find the total collection data, but in Russia the film grossed a measly $193,000. Directed by Andre Ovredal, who previously noted the film 'Troll Hunters' as well as a number of short films.
The plot of the film tells the story of a father and son who are pathologists in a small town, and receive the body of a victim of a mysterious murder - a young girl with no apparent cause of death. They try to figure out who she is and how she died, discovering increasingly bizarre clues that lead to the mysteries of her life and death. The film can be divided into two parts: the first with a serious detective background, where the autopsy procedure is directly shown, and the second, which is presented with a traditional horror. Also note that the film belongs to the category 'camera cinema' as 95% of the shooting takes place in the morgue. Genre lovers will appreciate it. I lacked the dynamics of storytelling. And if the first 10 minutes to watch the autopsy and listen to the dialogue of the characters is interesting, then with further viewing interest fades every minute to complete indifference! The plot is intriguing, but does not receive proper development, and instead turns into a banal, clichéd and predictable horror! Also, I did not like the motivation of the antagonist, as in my opinion too banal, I will not explain so. spoiler! The humor in the picture is dialogue and very funny, given the peculiarities of our translation. A couple of times I laughed with the whole room from the heart!
Acting performance on average! The actors played decently and exactly as much as the production itself required. Separately, I will note the play of Brian Cox, an interesting character in his performance turned out.
Musical component and video sequence. Let me remind you that the film was shot in one location. Artificial lighting and decorations, as well as quite detailed coverage of the autopsy procedure, create a peculiar, oppressive atmosphere. The whole thing is pretty decent. Regarding the soundtrack will be brief - it is present, and nothing more, completely neutral, so further comments are superfluous.
The movie was pretty bland. With a simple and sagging plot, normal acting, a kind of atmosphere and a good visual given the specifics of the tape. I didn't like the movie! It was boring, predictable and not scary! I will refuse recommendations, viewing is entirely at your discretion!
Recently, to find a suitable horror film has become beyond fiction. What is surprising is that technology has gone so far. But let’s move on to this movie.
The movie is definitely creepy. The atmosphere is so depressing that you are uncomfortable even sitting at home on a comfortable sofa. And this despite the fact that there are no frightening moments here, in principle. It feels like you’re in the morgue and it’s all happening to you. The girl, ' playing ' (if I may say so) the main character, is truly beautiful, but in her beauty there is something frightening and captivating. This film could be called 'How to do nothing the whole film, but still catch up with fear'
This horror movie in an unusual way managed to become a typical atypical horror film. Like all the techniques that are used to scare, we have already seen. But the pitch, the plot. It's definitely something new, as if a fresh wind had blown across the Sahara desert of horror movies.
To the minuses, I'd take the ending. As usual, as usual. The ending, in my opinion, just leaked, as it often happens in this kind of film. And in general, the film is built in such a way that in the end you could come up with anything, because throughout the action there is nothing that would lead you to a certain ending, would force you to think, to ponder. Any ending would have gone that way. So, in principle, this is more a horror movie than a thriller or a detective.
Bottom line: definitely the best horror movie ever released. It is suitable for viewing in the company to tickle the nerves.
P.S. It is very strange that in the Russian box office it was translated as "Demon inside" & #39;. Normal spoiler from Russian trolls - distributors.
The picture presented to our modest court is deeply depressing. And not because we have another plot where an unscrupulous demon invades an innocent body. There, in fact, there is no question of a demon. All we can find in the film is a kind of fluid paranormal devil that befell the two main characters of the film.
The main failure of the picture is the behavior and motivation of the key characters. She is not just absent, she forces to pause the film and ask questions aloud, banging her fist on her head: what is this?! The actors themselves could be useful for an average horror movie, but the actions that the characters perform (or, even more often, do not commit) simply go against traditional ideas about the adequacy of people.
Graphically, the film is also weak. Those few special effects present in the film, the eye does not please and are similar to the work of either interns or people with a very modest budget.
Of the advantages, you can note a good plot idea, although its implementation came out very bad. There are several successful scenes, but all this is not enough to recommend this picture to anyone.

I haven’t watched the horror genre for a long time, because recently, this category of films leaves much to be desired. This film is very different from such films.
The plot tells about a certain Jane Doe, who was killed, her body is given to the nearest morgue crematorium. Pathologists (father and son) are trying to figure out who is responsible for the mysterious death of this beautiful girl.
Best of the movie. Step-by-step dismemberment of a girl's body. Pulled different organs, as well as various things from the corpse, make a vivid impression. The atmosphere gradually increases and becomes tense. The pale face of the girl brings a special element of excitement.
You can see a smooth transition from the detective line to the mystical. For some it may seem ambiguous, but still in my opinion, it is made dynamically and not stupid at all. For the thriller, there's not enough of a suspected killer to fall under suspicion. As far as acting is concerned, generally normal. The main characters look convincing, it is interesting to watch them perform an autopsy of a corpse.
'Demon inside' - a good horror film, in which elements of the detective and mysticism are not poorly combined. Of course, the picture is recommended for viewing, because it leaves a special aftertaste. Nerves may not tickle, but it will create an exciting tension.
Seeing the title and reading the description, I thought that this is another horror about the expulsion of evil spirits from the human body. But as it turned out later, this is not quite so. There is an evil spirit hiding inside the victim’s body, as the name suggests, but there is no exile itself, no clergy, no special rituals, no prayer readings, no church attributes. This is why the film becomes original.
A good half of screen time is the process of autopsy and attempts to establish the cause of death. At first it is even interesting, there is a detective component, the further the autopsy goes, the more strange and shocking facts are discovered. This makes it difficult to determine the exact cause.
The second half of the film is inferior to the first, the detective part leaves, horror takes its place. But the horror that happens in the picture can only be called with a very large stretch. Not only do the frightening elements here do not act properly on the viewer, so they are also extremely few. This is a significant disadvantage of the film. Someone may be frightened by the autopsy process itself, even a corpse, but that’s unlikely unless it’s someone with a first-ever horror movie. And what about those who have already seen many horror films, and I was present at the autopsy process and watched it live.
Also, the huge disadvantage of the film is that it catastrophically lacks an atmosphere, which is simply disastrous for such a genre. Those attempts to create it that were in the film, very weak, they do not work.
In the end, because of these significant disadvantages, watching the film is simply not interesting, especially spit on what happens in the second half, when autopsy is no longer done. You just expect it to end, no matter how, as long as it ends faster. And it all ends pretty dull and bland, no final twist or some strong scene. Why this movie had to be shown in theaters I was left unclear.

Domestic localizers are very interesting guys. Just the name they manage ' kill' almost all interest in any film, or banal spoiler its very essence. Fortunately, the second with the film Andre Ovredal did not happen, although the hint will be clear to anyone. Ovredal himself very rarely indulges the viewer with his films and 'The autopsy of Jane Doe' is his second work. The first was 'Troll Hunters'. Despite the also rather ambiguous title and associations with slang accepted on the Internet, the film was a very atmospheric spectacle with a very non-banal plot. As it turned out, 'The autopsy of Jane Doe' has similar criteria.
In a small town there is a terrible massacre in one of the houses. All participants were killed by the most sophisticated methods. In the basement of the house, the police find the corpse of a young girl, she looks like she just died. Sheriff Burke decides to send the girl's corpse to the nearest pathological department, because answers to the origin of the corpse are needed by the morning. And now, several pathologists spend the night working with the corpse, in the process of opening which, they learn more and more horrifying details about the death of the girl.
To be honest, I ignored this work for a very long time, because I thought it was another thrashing obscenity about exorcising demons. What a surprise it was when the picture met me with an incredible atmosphere and a complete unknown. Yes, it is, Ovredal really can in a quality atmosphere and pumping suspense. The autopsy of the girl's body is shown with incredible scrupulousness to detail, as if the viewer is at some anatomical lecture. At the same time, along with the main characters, you are puzzled by the rediscovery of details about the body of Jane Doe. The cast of the film is extremely small, but for an hour and a half Brian Cox and Emil Hirsch give out quite high-quality performances. Another thing is that the picture rarely manages to scare the viewer and it turns out that it is not always so inventive. But everything else came out here at a very high level.
Andre Ovredal created the film with great attention to detail. And let you not be afraid of the fact that all the action takes place in the pathology department, because the picture manages to dash with its intrigue, and the atmosphere itself qualitatively contributes to immersion in everything that is happening. Of course, the denouement turned out to be a bit banal, balancing on the edge of both original and standard plots, but in general, a quality film does not spoil it at all. One of those works that must be viewed by any fan of the horror genre. A sequel here is simply necessary, and Andre Ovredal wrote himself into the category of worthy filmmakers.

In terms of the plot, the film is well thought out, because wherever mysticism begins in horror films, silly inconsistencies, stretches and assumptions arise. Immediately everything is logically harmonious and reasonable, not counting, of course, small splashes. It is also pleasant that the intrigue of the plot was revealed gradually and carefully, and the atmosphere of the picture is maintained quite in a strict genre key.
For an inexplicable reason, the characters of the film showed absolutely no inner denial of those inexplicable facts with which they first encountered. After all, we are talking about professionals who cut corpses from morning to night and constantly see the same thing, and then suddenly – this! – and almost no special surprise. As if mysticism is something so ordinary that you can just read about in the Bible and immediately everything will become clear what is what, and most importantly, the mind will immediately accept it and will not particularly resist or be surprised. Fortunately, the director did not go to the other extreme of such films, when the obvious facts indicate one thing, and the characters stubbornly do not believe their eyes, continuing to act in the paradigm of “this can not be”. Thank you for that too.
A lot of the guns hanging on the wall never got fired. For example, the crematorium that broke out suddenly turned out to be an episode without consequences, and therefore meaningless. The same could be said of the blood spilled in the fridge – there was no point in focusing on it if the incident had not developed into anything. The episode with the cat in the ventilation is also worthless, because it is a shadow on the weave. “Traditional” bells in general turned out to be a farce, because in an incomprehensible way they rang even where they should not be (although, this is even useful for mystical plots, mysterious for them).
For obvious reasons, genre features, some of the actions of the heroes had to be deliberately made idiotic. So, for example, a father and son in a rather limited room, and with ventilation, clearly not designed for such tricks, lit a fire. After all, it is obvious that now there will be smoke, and terrible smell, and the likelihood of spreading fire, and other charms. But no, idiots are allowed everything in the movies! The same can be said about moving in a dangerous zone without trying to arm yourself with anything - the good thing, there were as many tools at hand. Of course, it is not clear whether anything can help you in such a situation, but any sane person for banal complacency will take at least a pencil in his hand (and those familiar with John Wick now know for sure that there is no better weapon in the world).
It is difficult to understand the director who decided to present the audience with such a ridiculous main entrance to the room. Similarly, it is decent to organize entrances to some cellars where barrels of sauerkraut and salt mushrooms are stored, but not to the work area where you spend most of your life. The elevator is good, but as far as I understand, it was not the main way to get into the basement.
Because of the somewhat shaggy plot, the pathologist heroes were also assigned the roles of detectives, although this is not their business at all - to try to solve a crime and dock one fact with another. Their job is to establish the cause of death, not to paint an oil painting of how that death could have occurred. As a result, it was necessary to observe the “genius” mental attempts and the same “genius” discoveries regarding the features detected during the autopsy. It is a pity that we could not present all this somehow, it looked, to put it mildly, idiotic.
On the technical side. The acting was not confident enough, but quite fit the imperfect directing work. So the film did not receive the potential much greater charge of the thriller than it turned out in the end. The location and direction of the main characters (working with corpses) is already half the success for a smart horror film, but, unfortunately, only partially revealed this side. Although quite masterfully used characteristic of the thriller techniques. But there was still a place to turn around and burn for real!
As for the autopsy process, everything was done very respectable and colorful. No soothing sounds, so characteristic of such scenes in the movies, no sudden splashes of blood on the face and the like delirium. Impressive people are unlikely to like this, because the realism of the personnel turned out to be very high. (Except, of course, the plot features, which are essentially ridiculous fiction.)
There is a complaint about the part of the editor's work - too often the emphasis was placed on the face of the girl. It would certainly be a legitimate move if there were changes in the face from time to time. But when time after time they poked the camera at the still face of the corpse, there was a clear overkill. It's just boring.
The camera job is very smart. From all possible angles, they showed the naked female body, the autopsy process to the smallest detail, and different types of rooms. If you added perfect lighting to that, it would be really cool. But in general, everything looks impressive, although the location, in fact, is quite dull and simple.
You can say that I find fault with the little things, but when they show the corpses, they are frankly missing the so-called rigor cadaver. (This is clearly visible when the carts leave the cells.)
Conclusion. The film for its genre is very thoughtful, meaningful and consistent. It's not frankly puzzling. You can be brave, he deserves it. A solid five. However, for me the movie is disposable, I hardly want to reconsider.
The gloomy ' Demon inside' shot by a Norwegian, and that's it.
Two pathologists perform a routine autopsy on a mysteriously dead girl while investigating the crime, analyzing women’s social insecurity and uncovering the secrets of the profession, what cuts occur and when the corpse’s eyeballs glaze.
At the very beginning there is a wonderful dialogue between a young pathologist and his girlfriend, who came to visit. She begins to climb the morgue and tries to look in the refrigerator. He's like, you can't get out of here! And she's-- well, you come to work with me. He: Yeah, but you work in a bookstore. She: So what, who cares? Wonderful Scandinavians brought to this film a well-recognised manner of shooting and playing with sinister meanings from their famous detective series! Yum-yum. Unbelievable cocktail.
According to the picture - smooth sterile plans from the tripod and rails, theatrical arrangement of objects and partners in the frame, well, the old-fashioned missing eights. In the plot - long deceptive pauses that do not end with the effect 'bu', leading nowhere doors and complete disregard for Chekhov's postulate about the gun. It's terrible!
After all this beauty, the director did not have enough strength for the general meaning and solution, and he buckled at the end of the banalism. All right. The process is more exciting than the final result. I'm sure any pathologist would say that.
Horror film with pathologists and with detective pepper
Today’s horror stories were not the same: if earlier horrors were frightened rather by a plot that frightened the viewer so much that it was not necessary to use unexpected “frighteners”, like opening a locker in the bathroom, and closing to see the monster right in front of you; frightened by the atmosphere of horror, where sharp loud sounds were not used, in order to make the audience scream at the whole hall in horror. Now horror movies have become as typical as you can accurately predict every movement of the characters or the appearance of a monster or a ghost (sorry, here she turns back and there...). Among the faceless creations suddenly found a rather impressive pearl.
The film begins with an unusual find in the basement, which is found by the police in the house where the family was brutally murdered. As we know from the start, the town itself is small, so everyone knows each other, so murder is a fantasy for a sheriff. Of course, we need leads, and the strange corpse of a girl in the basement, which is incomprehensible and incomprehensible when she got into the house of murdered people does not climb into any gates. As a matter of urgency, the body is taken to the coroner, who in this small town is represented by a hereditary family who maintain a crematorium and provide services to police pathologists. Here are the characters Brian Cox and Emil Hirsch, who respectively play father and son. Their main task: to understand why this woman died, and in general, to provide at least some leads to the police.
Pathologists begin an autopsy on Jane Doe (as her fingerprints are not on the base), and then the devil begins. It is not clear why many reviewers did not like the fact that the characters did not pay much attention to incomprehensible knocks, mystical shadows or strange circumstances - even though it is logical! The main characters are specialists who deal with corpses, they are not touched by the terrible mutilations on the face of the dead, they record the weight of the heart and brain, so why should they shy away from any rustle, from the open door? I liked just that: oops, I didn't seem to close the door well, hey, why didn't the corpse catch fire, damn, you're talking about a corpse, man, how could it be his fault? I really like their mental reaction: if you are stuck with a corpse, you need to continue. And with what coolness they continued. You have to see that.
Along with the high-quality filling of moments of horror, you can see the detective side, and the dramatic too. The film is primarily about a father and son who are trying to get out of the damn trap, and even in their thoughts do not have to abandon each other or hysterically blame who is to blame for what (the moment in the elevator – see and understand). They do not behave like typical heroes, there is no main blonde, who will stay alive and an idiot, who is sure to get into something, and he will have to be saved. The detective in this case is very carefully interspersed with horrors, where he even leads the lead role. Everything starts gradually, gaining momentum with each opening at the dissection of the body, which further gives fog. Conjecture follows conjecture, turning into a meaningless mysterious pile of facts, somehow concentrated on one maiden body.
The truth will be revealed at the end, but it is too late. To be honest, I’ve been waiting for a corpse to get up and run for the whole movie, but the movie, again, is not typical. As the slogan says: “There are things worse than death”, so stock up on a cat under the armpit, water, because you do not want to go to a dark kitchen.
I got to the film by accident, did not see trailers or commercials, just at some point I found myself in the cinema, with the title ' The Demon Inside' as if hinting at three features of the film: 1. This is clearly not a comedy; 2. Like horror, mysticism or horror; 3. A movie about a demon.
But if the first and second do not cause any doubt, then with the third was a miscalculation.
The film, due to our localization, is perceived slightly differently, because people believe that they are going to a film about a demon, and not on the "Dayna Do'" autopsy, and the original title perfectly reflects the content of the film, and the entire film is essentially revealed along with the "Day #39" disclosure of the main body. The whole story is told just from the autopsy, everything new and new is learned by GG from the autopsy, and that is how it was worth translating the name. But, our localizers decided that many will not understand the meaning of the name ' Jane Do', and, as it were, the film is mystic, well, let’s call it another ' demon'.
It is impossible to describe the strong and weak moments of the film, since it is impossible to do without spoilers.
The plot is simplified to the limit, events, although not entirely predictable, but it is quite difficult to call them unexpected, 'boo scenes' there are, and quite good, you kind of understand that now something will scare you and try to prepare for it, but it will scare you anyway.
Actors made ' live' by adding their family ' issues' GG's girl in the film is just for the stronger effect of the tragedy.
The second time you will watch the film only if you completely forget about it, but it will not leave you with bad impressions. The picture is not stretched, the events are logical and measured.
It is the actors’ play that is good, but the film should be watched in the original in English, because of our translation, some of the charm is lost.
GG and his father played great. G-girl's only in five minutes. Jane Do & #39 is played by a model and not an actress, and in fact it is not at all embarrassing, and there are no negative emotions about it. How simple model so well ' played ' - you will understand after watching the film.
In general, the picture is not bad, but it is difficult to call it good, but given the shortage of good horrors, the picture can be put.

I fell for the recommendations and description, promising something new for fans of tickling their nerves. The film really keeps me on edge, but the end disappointed me a little.
The beginning is a promising detective thriller. An unusual murder centered on an unusual corpse. And it is the decomposition of this mysterious dead body into components and are engaged in the whole film the main characters - pathologists father and son. The very idea of filming in one space, which is a morgue in an old mansion, is already fresh and pleasant in itself. The mystery on the riddle warms up impatience and makes you literally stick to the screen until the detective gives way to pure mysticism. Here, of course, does not do without stamps, and who in our time scare living corpses, in the end ... But the atmosphere is still there.
The film can already put a solid five for excellent large-scale and detailed plans of anatomical work of pathologists. You can also score a point for the plot and scenery. But still, personally, I do not like open finals without explaining where, in fact, it all began.

The film from the director of the genius 'Troll Hunter' you should have watched anyway. It had to be original. And damn it, yes! The Scandinavians hold the stamp! The only sad thing is that more than half a year passes between the world premiere and the Russian premiere. Too bad it's a good movie. I couldn’t wait to see it, I saw it in January. Again to the distributors: why spoiled the original name and, in fact, made a spoiler. Not like the word ' autopsy' on the poster, come up with another, but ' the demon inside' - this immediately suggests some thoughts.
Rare recently worthy representative in the genre of horror. In my opinion, it is very unusual and qualitatively filmed: an enclosed space, involving a minimum of actors and one cat, skillfully intrigued from the very first minutes of the action, and it intelligently develops as the body of a mysterious dead woman is examined. By the way, this is a rare case when it was quite difficult for me to predict the further development of events, but one thing is obvious - the further, the worse, and we already know, thanks to the fucking distributors from Russia, that the demon is inside. The atmosphere is successfully inflated by numerous and well-thought-out details. I'd say there's nothing superfluous. I absolutely liked the scenario, in which the characters lead themselves into a trap, which they realize when the trap is already closed.
One scene falls out of the general logic of the film - this is (how to say without spoilers), when one of the characters falls under friendly fire, then the emotions of the other characters look somewhat implausible, in the spirit, ' Maxim died, and with him' This is the problem of many movies.
By the way, I didn’t even recognize Emil Hirsch when I watched him, but I think I watched all the movies with him, starting with the Imperial Clubs. How much he's changed! Time does not spare anyone.
In general, the film is extremely successful, and against the background of what is now shamelessly released in rental, it is successful in the square!
What made me watch the movie 'The Demon Inside'? Stephen King recently called it the scariest movie of 2016.
Let's start with health. The father and son are pathologists, they receive another client from the investigators, the cause of which must be established. Nice. At first, the atmosphere is even comfortable in its own way. But as the cause of death 'patient' gets more and more creepy. It might be scary. But he ends up resting. After all, with the advent of frank mysticism, the picture, unfortunately, begins to slide into the circus.
The best thing about the film is the highly detailed dismemberment. Indeed, the corpses and their autopsy are all done at the highest level. Just a balm for the soul after other low-budget horror films. Standard attributes of horrors (corridors are gloomy, radio, storm outside the window, light) in the picture are also made competently.
The actors are great. Emil Hirsch and Brian Cox are actually building a movie. They did not overdo it, they were easy to believe. The pale face of Oluen Catherine Kelly is generally one of the important elements that create the atmosphere.
Good horror movie. Nothing like this has appeared in this genre for a long time.
Don’t waste your time on this movie unless it’s the first or second horror movie of your life. Typical, stupid, sloppy. There is absolutely nothing new, interesting, unusual. I have seen a lot of films of this genre. And "The Demon Inside" is all built on stamps and long-known techniques. This has never happened before.
At the center of the story are two: father and son. In the basement of their home is a crematorium and a morgue where they work with corpses. And then one day they receive an amazing shot: a dead woman with snow-white, nowhere defiled skin. Starting to perform an autopsy, the heroes discover that the internal organs have survived strange manipulations. The victim is dissatisfied with being studied from within. He's getting revenge. This revenge has nothing to do with horror, horror, darkness.
No atmosphere. And this is extremely tragic for horror. Well, yeah, there's a corpse, there's a morgue, and it's raining outside the window. That's it.
There is no non-trivial ending. She doesn't even smell. Very primitive horror. And if someone does not agree, cries out that this is “godnotaa”, it means that they have not seen truly suitable paintings in this genre, then they love “popcorn” cinema. Because it really is. Acting? Average. Nothing remarkable.
And the only thing that makes you a little tense is close-ups at the autopsy. Roughly speaking, they play on open disgust, which a person will cause a lung taken from the body, for example.

I didn’t want to write anything about this movie. This will probably be the shortest review. Let’s start with the translation 'Autopsy of Jane Doe' where the demon is not clear, easily translated as 'Autopsy of Jane Doe' and do not invent a bicycle. Yes, Jane Doe is not the name of the deceased, and so in Anglo-Saxon jurisprudence refers to a person either unidentified or wishing to remain anonymous. In the excellent film 'Se7en', Kevin Spacey's character was named John Doe.
But now closer to the film, in general, not a lover of horror, as most of them are very similar and rarely come across anything worthwhile for me. Surprisingly, this film has good ratings from the audience, 6.4 from the search and 6.9 from IMDb, for which, personally, I do not understand, such a boring and not interesting film I have never seen. The beginning seemed fervent, a good musical accompaniment, but then a complete failure. Everything takes place in the morgue and ends there. Watching the movie is highly recommended, you will regret the time and money spent if you go to the movies. Absolutely nothing catches, neither the plot, nor the acting, nor the music.
The film is a complete blanket.
Jane Doe's autopsy attracts acting names. Brian Cox and Emil Hirsch are more than famous actors with good works in the past. The plot pleases the lack of stamps: there is no house with a terrible history, live dolls and exorcism ceremonies. The action takes place in the morgue, where the father and son are engaged in family business - they work as pathologists.
While watching the film bribes the fact that the director of the film Andre Ovredal scares not only standard techniques, like popping creepy faces and twitching door handles, but also in more sophisticated ways. The twists of the plot do not let you relax for a minute. The characters make you believe in them.
It is especially interesting to watch the body. Apparently, this is what the filmmakers were betting on. The dead girl does not come to life here, but her story is fully revealed in the chamber setting of the morgue. While watching, she makes herself afraid without saying a single word or making a single movement.
The disadvantages include a couple of inconsistencies, not quite logical behavior of the characters in several situations. Perhaps not everyone will be satisfied with the final, but here it is in the expectations that develop along the way.
A film that stands out from other paintings of the genre. A great choice if you want to spend an evening and see something fresh in the template world of horror.

I once watched a lot of horror films, came across both first-class and frank hack in a beautiful package. Then came the moment when I realized that everything was repeating itself. There is no freshness of the plot, everything that could be told has already been told, everything that could be shown has been shown, there is no chance left to be the first, bright, scary, interesting. But it was a misconception, Andre Ovredal and his team convinced me and showed a truly first-class and chilling horror movie.
One room, two-and-a-half people, and cold-hearted events. At first it seems like a joke. What can you think of in a room with two actors, putting the corpse of a girl between them? The autopsy showed that anything could happen. And the most terrible thing in this story is not the elements that struck the head of unfortunate pathologists, not their losses and mystical events, but an understanding of what this girl went through and what it led to.
First, there is a feeling of pity for the main character. So young, beautiful, why? Why did that happen? Who wanted this? When the story presents surprises, the viewer, along with the main characters, begins to be nervous and afraid, and at some points hate this girl in a cruel way. But in the end, when the solution is found, the whole storm of emotions subsides and bitterness, pity and even some sense of despair remain.
A great horror film that will tickle your nerves and make you think about everything around you, the past, the future and the present. There are a couple of ridiculous moments in the film, but they are so small and insignificant that the overall impression of watching is not spoiled. So I recommend everyone to watch and I think that on the big screen this film will look very cool.

At first, for example, when looking at the posters for the film or when reading a brief description, it may seem that “The Autopsy of Jane Doe” or “The Demon Inside” is another film that tells about demons that have invaded people, of which countless people continue to appear (the most striking example is “Ghosts of Eloise” with Robert Patrick).
But when further studying the body of Jane Doe, that is, when viewing the picture, it turns out that the work of the Norwegian Andre Ovredal is very good and refers to the works, albeit not loud, but necessarily finding its viewer.
So, at one time, I liked the movie “The Devil” in 2010, in which several people were trapped in an elevator. Also – the film is little known, with not the most outstanding budget, but looks extremely interesting and captivates the viewer. In the case of the demon within, it is the same. The viewer is invited to retire in the basement of the house with two pathologists who received another body under the curtain of the working day - a young girl with no apparent cause of death.
Doctor-father Tommy (Brian Cox) and doctor-son Austin (Emile Hirsch) begin their work and gradually begin to realize that the naked body in front of them is not all right. No, the dead woman has two arms, two legs, two breasts, which does not express any emotions, the face of the dead man, but the details of the body gradually alarm the father and son. After all, this body does not behave exactly as befits the body of a corpse. It lies still, but contains so many mysteries, trying to solve which Tommy and Austin plunge into a real nightmare.
For all its simplicity, this movie is actually quite creepy, and the constant flashing in the close-up of Jane Doe’s serene face promises only that she is about to either blink or say: “Boo!” and make pathologists and the viewer jump on the spot.
Tension and every minute more and more pressurized atmosphere add a lot of small facts and nuances – raging outside the storm, the basement, from which it is difficult to get out without assistance, the neighborhood with the corpses and the main one of them, inexplicable surges of tension, gloomy corridors with dangerous turns, creaking from the speakers music and strange words of the announcer in the radio – in short, father and son will have a damn night and it does not promise to be boring to anyone who wants to watch the film.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
This mystical horror film is the second full-length project of the Norwegian director Andre Ovredal after a quite worthy independent film of the pseudo-documentary genre.
Immediately it is worth noting the good acting of Brian Cox and Emil Hirsch, two pathologists, part-time father and son, who received the body of the victim of a mysterious murder. Partly on their interaction with each other is the plot component of the tape.
The Norwegian masterfully creates an alarming mystical atmosphere in the first half of the narrative and keeps the viewer in suspense until a certain moment, but then, in the second half of the tape, the story begins to “deflate”, and the ending finally lubricates the impression of viewing and transfers the film into the category of “one time”. Suspense injection is based on standard techniques for this genre, and towards the end, the authors begin to repeat themselves.
And yet, despite the unoriginality and template of the production, "The Demon" should be given a chance. The scenes of autopsy are filmed qualitatively and naturalistically, the music perfectly helps to create an ominous atmosphere, individual screamers are very suitable, and some moments get to goosebumps. Therefore, especially impressionable viewers should think a few times before proceeding to watch "The autopsy of Jane Doe" (the original title of the film, in vain translated by Russian distributors to "The Demon Inside").
The demon inside - at first fascinating, intriguing and causing genuine interest mystical chamber horror-thriller with excellent actors, sinister music and dark atmosphere in the end was spoiled by a weak, inexpressive and primitive final third.

Seeing the trailer, which attracted, but did not reveal all the most interesting, it was decided to watch the film.
Family business he can be different, here the Tilden family, for example, its own morgue and crematorium. The father lost his wife a couple of years ago and now wants to teach his son to be not only a good assistant, but also an independent pathologist. The Tildens live in a small town, so if there is any fight with the victims, all the dead bodies are brought to them for examination. In one day, a mass murder or even suicide occurred in a private house, the causes of which remain a mystery. Police also found the girl’s body without visible damage and it remains to be seen what caused the mysterious stranger’s death. During the autopsy, the father and son discover shocking things that confuse them more and more, and what is happening begins to seem completely unreal. What terrible secret does this harmless-looking body keep?
I really liked that the trailer of the film intrigued, but left all the salt for later, as often in advertising show all the most exciting moments and watching the whole movie becomes boring. All we know is that the body of an unknown woman, now known as Jane Doe (the custom of calling John and Jane Doe unidentified bodies for many years), has been in the morgue, and everything has taken on a nightmarish scale. The script of the film is truly fascinating, because the idea is quite original, not often all the actions take place in the morgue. The main aspect of the picture is the body, on which the main attention of screen time will be focused, so this tape is more suitable for action lovers in a small space, where it is worth thinking carefully together with the characters.
The actors were selected very well, each coped with his role with hurrah, but, of course, everyone’s attention was focused on the girl with a very memorable appearance. I was incredibly impressed by the junction where we find out what Jane Doe is hiding. I would also like to mention the director’s work and the picture as a whole, these shots, changing each other during the autopsy or even the transition from actions to the body, it really makes you look without stopping. It may seem like a long movie, but you just have to be patient, watch how the action gradually develops and then it will amaze you. I was also very happy about the ending, how happy or unhappy everyone decides for themselves, but I really like the endings of horror movies. One of the main advantages is the uniqueness, which is that I can not even name similar paintings.
Want a mysterious story about a mysterious corpse that hides a huge secret, then this is what you need! The autopsy showed you didn't have to go that far.
I do not pretend to be objective, I write only subjective impressions.
A film of several actors, with appropriate dialogue.
Something like this can be filmed with one camera and a couple of people, but it's a matter of taste. Taste in the film is present, for a non-specialist, the autopsy process is quite natural.
The main disappointment, and as a result, the reason for the decline in the rating is the notorious feeling with which you watch most American films “well, when the main character guesses, immediately everything has been chewed up, folded already 1 + 1”, and frankly, this idea haunts the entire second part of the film work. The plot branches are also quite predictable - "everything is good" or "everything is bad", I watched the film only with the desire that it was already clear on what rails the plot went.
Nevertheless, the film from the genre of “horrors”, with his task he coped – there were really scary moments caused by the expectation of any new loud “flush”. If the market was not most of these horror films, the rating would have to be reduced, and so the film on 7/10.
The verdict is a weird kinzo for one evening
The debut feature-length work of the Norwegian director Andre Ovredal left an unambiguous impression. Here's why. On the one hand, for the directorial debut, the picture is magnificent: a real horror movie, with the whole set of necessary (I repeat, necessary) stamps and pressure elements, an unusual theme and location (almost the whole film we see two pathologists opening a certain girl in their home laboratory), scratching the soul with a sound series (here it is clearly traced that the director is not a hidden fan of Van and his & #39; Spell'). Well, it's a horror thing. Add in star duo Emil Hirsch and Brian Cox and all the ingredients for success in stock. But not all the ingredients of this ' brewy soup' finished to the end. What was not enough good horror to become a full-fledged player of the major league of horror?
Well, in short, the problem is not new. I repeat, everything from the first frames is as it should be - live, real characters, a terrible location, a mysterious story that unfolds gradually, a fear that catches up slowly, wrapping you invisibly and very carefully. We are waiting for history to finally reveal some secrets, creepy and old, who this mysterious dead girl is, whose skin is white and pure, despite the fact that she is long dead. Not a single trace of external beatings, only scarred all internal organs. But we never know the essence, and here immediately recalls another horror, with a good start and a smeared storyline to the end - ' Parcel' (2009). Despite the atmosphere of suspense, the film is not frightening for real (examples what is ' Scare' in the modern world of horror we have darkness), which also draws another minus. In addition, it is covered with haze, then darkness (you can see that the budget of the film is limited). We observe a mixture of one of the series 'The X-Files', 'The Conjuring' and 'Be in My Skin'. All together, this creates a very murky picture for perception and final analysis of what you see: the film kind of does not let go, and beckons the expected denouement of the story, but at the same time, by the end, it simply blows away to the incompetent and finale & #39; Get off & #39; in which nothing is revealed exactly! Not the fate of the hero / heroes, not the story of the mysterious girl-corpse... Again we have a film with an incredibly interesting beginning and a blown ending in the end. It could have been a really scary horror movie. It was all about that.
A separate respect for the Irish actress Oluen Catherine Kelly, who surpassed Natalia Varley (who mostly played a silent role, lying in a coffin in the Soviet film & #39; Vii', but sometimes rose from it) in the element ' corpse games' throughout the entire timekeeping. After all, for the entire film, she does not have a single scene where she would give at least some signs of life, even when very otherworldly things are happening around.
P.S. Once again, the strange decision of Russian distributors to call the film radically different than the title in the original. What is it here ' The Demon inside' if the film has a clearly translated title into Russian - "The autopsy of Jane Doe."
Such a high rating only for the debut and attempt.

The film ' The Demon Inside' or the original title 'The Autopsy of Jane Doe', which I personally like best and fits the meaning, appeals to the ancient fear ' the living dead' And not those handsome people with aristocratic paleness, but real, battered by death heroes of criminal chronicles.
Visit the traditional family morgue in the company of a charming silent dead woman and her gray eyes, familiarize yourself with the anatomy of a person and fear for your pleasure together with two unfortunate heroes - father and son of the Tildon family.
However, do not build many hopes - an exciting 65 minutes of the film will end the crumpled finale with the idea of continuing the villainy so adored by the writers. A vicious circle, evil for evil and all that.
In general, there are standard scarecrows that experienced viewers will be able to predict per second. However, this does not affect the merits of the film: it turned out to be spectacular and spectacular. Every bell ringing from the foot of the deceased will certainly affect your nervous tension.
Watching this film, which is called 'The Demon Inside' or 'The Autopsy of Jane Doe', remained in a terrible sensation, and mild anxiety, which means the film turned out to be excellent. Genre ' Horrors' and 'Thriller' in their totality and correct directing do incredible things. This film is a direct proof of that. After all, from the first 15 minutes to the end of the film, the picture does not even give a break. And the intricate plot makes you think about the events that are happening at the moment in the film.
For a relatively small budget, this film exceeded all my expectations and even more, conquered its climax, and the ending came out very unexpected, but the problem for me was that the film does not answer some of the questions that arise from the beginning of the film. It can be such a directing move that the audience could think for themselves or hint at the next part. But since the next part is not foreseen, then this is the first option. Unfortunately, I did not appreciate such a move and therefore I was disappointed that I never saw in the film how the director with his creation answers these questions.
The atmosphere of the film is simply overwhelming. After all, the whole plot of the film takes place in the basement of the Tilden estate, where Austin and Thomas Tilden have their own morgue. All events that lead to a regular end, without explanation, unfold there.
The cast in the film is very small, but the characters play their roles at maximum and as a result of this the film is of excellent quality. It is safe to say that the actors played 100%.
Special effects and post-processing are present at most in a couple of moments and this is quite enough, since the idea of the film does not require strong computer intervention. A simple situation and the absence of something unreal, even more immerses in the atmosphere, and anxiety from this begins to grow.
Perhaps the only complaint in the plot is a film blunder with a cat, where in one case he is completely in a curly state and everything is fine with him, and in another, he is already in a terrible state, but the main characters were not much surprised, referring to his old age and long-standing illness.
We conclude that I recommend the film for viewing, delivered those emotions that should be inherent in watching a horror film.
I saw this picture yesterday and I can’t help but write my review. Let’s break it down into pros and cons.
Pluses:
1. Atmosphere. She is exactly what horror, thriller and detective need at the same time. The first half of the movie is really great. For you cannot imagine the further development of events and, accordingly, you do not know where to expect trouble, but you know for sure that the disaster itself is about to happen. This detective thriller with horror elements is addictive and looks in one breath.
2. Plot. I thought it was original, unconventional. The very idea of building a storyline around a dead girl in the hands of experienced pathologists is not trivial. Don't expect a stupid massacre. Horror is rare here, but, as they say, aptly. Captures the spirit and makes you empathize with the main characters. You want to get out of this nightmare.
3. Actors. Everything is built on the game of two people – Emil Hirsch and Brian Cox. Both played their heroes perfectly, they did not fake anywhere, they did not overplay. Olouen Catherine Kelly does nothing in the film, but she looks very mysterious. Just looking at this body is fascinating.
Minuses:
1. Unjustified transition of the film to the mystical component. Why was that necessary? If there were no ideas for the final chord of this picture, then the creators could simply leave the viewer with a mystery that he would have to solve for himself after watching the film. But no. The genre into which “The Demon Inside” came after half of himself, I didn’t like.
2. The ending. The outcome of this whole story seemed to me confused, unthought-out. But after an hour of watching the movie "The Demon Inside," it all came to that. The beautiful first half of the picture turned into too dynamic development of events in the style of the film “Mirror”. And, to put it mildly, the end of this epic and the fate of the main characters, I was dissatisfied.
Result:
For the time being, this film is fascinating and delightful. You should prepare yourself for the gray end. Therefore, be condescending to the film in the last half hour of viewing.
