The actor spent his childhood with his mother’s relatives in Moscow. The boy had perfect hearing, and his mother decided that he should learn to play the violin. At the age of five, he decided that he should be an actor and would become one. In 1959, at the insistence of his relatives, Kalyagin graduated from the medical school. For two years he worked as a paramedic in the ambulance. But the childhood dream was stronger, and he entered the Shchukinsky school. Already in his second year of study, he married Tatiana Korunova, a beautiful and talented actress. And in 1965, after graduating from school, they both got a job at the Taganka Theatre.
Alexander Kalyagin made his film debut in 1967 in the film Nikolai Bauman, playing a cameo role. Then there was work in the film “Black Prince” and in the television play “Notes of the Pickwick Club”. It took a few years and a movie role again.
