In 1968, Natalia Egorova first entered the theater school, located in Irkutsk. But she studied there for only a year, dropped out of school and went to Moscow. In the capital, she learned the basics of acting in the studio at the Central Children's Theater and the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio. At the same time, Natalia met Nikolai Popkov, whom she later married. They lived together for 16 years, raising their son Alexander.
