Sergey Ashkenazi was born on May 12, 1949 in Sunny Odessa. After high school he entered the Odessa Nautical School, which he graduated in 1969. The first film he made in 1980 was called Deep Relatives. And two years later, the director made his first full-length film “Time for Reflection” about the difficult relationship between two adult men and women, the problems of marriage and divorce. The main roles starred spouse Vladimir Menshov and Vera Alentova.
The third Ashkenazi painting had a great success.
"Pulp Talent" . The exciting plot of the film, based on the novel by Stanislav Rodionov, and the brilliant play of Alexandra Zakharova forced the audience to review this criminal story several times. The image of the twenty-year-old intriguer Alexandra, despite its negativity, was unusually charming and made you think about many important things.
In 1990, Zakharova played another major role in the next film of the director - "Hostage".
In the following years, four more Ashkenazi films were released – “Love is a deadly game”, “Temptation”, “Female Logic-2” and “Female Logic-3”.
And in 2011, the director shot a series about the fate of the director of the Gastronom "Elyseevsky" - "The Deliver's Case No. 1", where Sergey Makovetsky played the main role.
