After graduating from school in 1963, Andrei entered the Kirov Military Medical Academy, where he graduated in 1969. Then the young man decided to change his specialization and went to the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Cinematography and Music. In 1975, he received a diploma and began working at the Bolshoi Drama Theater, where he played in the plays “Cunning and Love”, “Arcadia”, “Cherry Orchard”, etc.
He began acting in films in 1960, then he got a small role in the film Ahead – a steep turn. Then he appeared in the tapes “The Call”, “You can still have time”, “The Cane in the Wind”.
A notable work with the participation of the actor was the feature film “Two long horn”, released in 1981. He performed the role of Gusakov brilliantly.
After that, Andrei Tolubeev often received invitations from the most famous directors: Mark Zakharov, Viktor Aristov, Vyacheslav Krishtofovich and Georgy Daneliya.
