Darren Star was born in 1961. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied the secrets of writing. At the age of 24, DarrenStar sold his first script from which the 1988 film Spending Time on Planet Earth was born. When he was writing the script for If Beauty Killed (1991), FOX commissioned him to create a TV series set in a school in Beverly Hills. Star Not only did he complete the order, but he himself became the director and executive producer of the new project.

The success of Beverly Hills 90210 exceeded all expectations and the series was on the screens in prime time for ten years. But Darren Star did not rest on his laurels and in 1992 launched a new project - "Melrose Place", which also fell in love with the audience and became a long-lived television screens. This was followed by West Central Park (1995). Even more popular was the next brainchild Darrena Stara - the series "Sex and the City" (1998). The series won several Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2001.
