The Bitch is Back, indeed! One of the finest songwriters of the 20th century is well showcased on this DVD. The Red Piano's set list features some of Sir Elton John's best-known crowd pleasers and he delivers each performance with gusto. One can't help but get enraptured by his enthusiasm, and I found myself tapping my toes to a few tunes that I wouldn't even count among my favorites, ie: Benny and the Jets. There's something about seeing the songss performed live that makes them that much more engaging. Vocally, Elton is in excellent form, and though he modifies a few melodies (he doesn't hit the high notes like he used to - he leaves that to his back-up vocalists), his voice sounds rich and full. close

Ben Steele's documentary "Children of Ebola" is made by him and his own script. The film, which became part of the pioneering HBO project, belongs to the documentary trilogy Ebola. Twelve-year-old Abu from a village in Sierra Leone, the protagonist of the project, survived the death of eight members of his family. The boy is forced to start his life anew, moving to a new place. The film, addressed to viewers over 18 years old, was filmed immediately after the peak of the epidemic from December 2014 to April 2015, when schools opened. The story of Abu this is the story of reconciliation with the past and belief in the continuation of life, one of the examples of the persistence of thousands of children who became orphans due to the epidemic. close

As clichés go, in 1999 the World as we knew it was about to change - and we'd been expecting it. Instead it bought us the smart-phone, social media, and virtual societies. And as it turns out these technologies began to transform society almost as dramatically as the moon colonies we'd been expecting. Now over a decade into the revolution, 'DSKNECTD' explores how digital communication technology is profoundly changing the way we interact and experience each other - for the good and for the bad. close
