In history, he left a bright trace of the man who “gave free rein” to the Soviet people. He grew out of the “Khrushchev thaw” and at all stages of his career, rising to the very heights of power, remained true to his belief that the Soviet system can make its citizens free. Documentary film "Mikhail Gorbachev:" He came to give us freedom" - reflection Leonid Parfenov about the personality of Mikhail Gorbachev, about his deeds and deeds and about the role he played in the history of our country.
Asked what goals Gorbachev saw in the reformation he was pursuing, whether the collapse of the Soviet Union was inevitable, and how Mikhail Sergeyevich managed to preserve his dignity by leaving power, Mikhail Gorbachev: He came to give us freedom" tries to understand the main thing - how did the Stavropol guy grow up in himself and carry his inner freedom throughout his life and share it with all citizens of the country? And yet there was so much will that many of us even thought it was too much. Freedom, for which most citizens did not fight, was gratuitously gained and just as gratuitously left. What does the “freedom giver” think of it today? close

Riverdance Show is a cultural phenomenon that defies criticism for the enthusiastic and leaves everyone else scratching their heads. The wonderfully talented cast, headed by the Riverdance Irish Dance Company, bewitchingly spins (and stomps) its Celtic folk choreography featuring numerous breathless solos by Michael Flatley (since departed) and Jean Butler. The mellifluous Riverdance Orchestra boasts Davy Spillane, who coaxes plaintive lamentations out of a peculiar instrument that resembles a bagpipe in a metal leg brace. For Enya fans, there is the sound-alike choral group Anuna, who casts a similarly New Age-style vocal spell. Also thrown into the mix are such disparate folk traditions as American gospel and Spanish flamenco. Though it's only 70 minutes long, Riverdance is repetitive by half. But judging from the ecstatic audience ovations and the continued foot-stomping during and after the curtain calls, too much is still not enough. close
