A film about the incredible story of Karina Chikitova. In August 2014, a three-year-old girl disappeared, but she was not immediately missed: people assumed she had left with her dad, who lived in a neighboring village. Only on the third day was it revealed that her dad had not picked her up. The village searched for her for 12 days and found her alive, thanks to a faithful friend — a puppy. In honor of Karina and her dog Naida, a monument was erected at the Yakutsk airport, and a book published called "Karina. 12 Days in the Taiga." This story dramatically changed the life of a little girl from a tiny village and her family. Today she is already 12 years old and studying at a ballet school. close

The movie is based on the real story of Nika Turbina, once world-famous Soviet child poetess, who got completely forgotten in the 1990s. That's when we meet her: at the age of 27 Nika is full of hopes and doubts regarding her gift. Due to the age restriction, she's got just one shot to enter the Drama School, and that's her only chance to separate from her cherishing and oppressive mother. Acquaintance with a new friend Ivan gives Nika hope for a happy future, but there is still something in her memory that triggers her. Tragically cheerful, painfully confused and desperately believing in love and life after childhood, Nika puts everything on the line to overcome ghosts of the past. close

Papa Srapa is the main shaman of the Russian avant-garde sound. Noise musician known for his insane, mind-blowing noise performances. An artist and inventor who creates completely unpredictable synthesizers, each of which is a unique object of art. Surprisingly, it is the USSR that is the birthplace of industrial music. Back in the 1920s, Dziga Vertov recorded musical compositions from the sounds of a sawmill, and Arseny Avraamov created a symphony entirely consisting of the sounds of the city: factory whistles, whistling steam and the sounds of aircraft. With this film, we want to introduce to the world a modern representative of a century-old underground tradition who has dedicated his life to noise, performance and synthesis. close

The history of Russia knows many examples of personal courage of its rulers, however, the feat of Tver Prince Mikhail Yaroslavich, and the Battle of Borthenev, which preceded him, stand apart in this row. Events 700 years ago still cause fierce debate, both in society and among historians. For centuries, the events of 1317 were considered from different angles - political, social, religious, dozens of monographs were written about them, however, this story did not have a cinematic embodiment. Nevertheless, the act of Mikhail Tversky can be considered the first example of effective patriotism.
The story about the feat of Mikhail Tversky is a vivid example, illustrating both the strength of the human spirit and the time in which it was incredibly difficult to survive without this spirit.

A feature-length documentary, Kvadrat explores the realities of techno DJing, using the example of Andrey PUSHKAREV, a Russian DJ recognized worldwide. Filmed as a hybrid between a road-movie and a music video, the film not only illustrates the festive atmosphere of techno night clubs, but also reveals the lesser known side of this profession: weeks of track selection, lengthy travel, difficult schedule. The film suggests to reconsider the stereotype of a popular musician, to find out whether the artist is happy, to ponder what's most important to him and his audience? Shot in Switzerland, France, Hungary, Romania and Russia, the film omits the typical documentary elements: no interviews, no explanatory voice-over, no facts, no figures. The visuals and the techno music replace them, leaving the detailed interpretation to the viewer. close

The film is dedicated to Victor Tsoi, who would have turned 50 on June 21, 2012. Victor Tsoi lived in an era of change, when one reality was replaced by another. He was one of the creators of the new world. His life is a set of paradoxes. A half-blooded boy who grew up in Leningrad, a rocker whose name rattled all over the Union, a musician who became a hero of the era - he sang, and millions sang along with him. When the news reported about a car accident near Riga on August 15, 1990, many were surprised to learn that Viktor Tsoi was only 28 years old! And he managed to live such a big life in such a small period of time. “Tsoi is a figure like an angel,” said Boris Grebenshchikov. Perhaps that’s why his fans say “Tsoi is alive” because angels don’t die. close

Documentary biographical film from the series "Secrets of the Century" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of aviation colonel general Ivan Nikitovich Kozhedub. Ivana Kozhedub – three times Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-as of the Great Patriotic War. At the age of 23, he becomes one of the most effective fighter pilots, sometimes shooting down 2-3 German planes a day. What is the secret of this young guy, the son of the poorest peasants of the Ukrainian village Obrahievka, who, along with Pokryshkin and Zhukov, became one of the 3 three times Heroes of the USSR? On his account by the end of the war was already 62 enemy aircraft — so many could not boast of no one else not only in Soviet aviation, but in the entire aviation of the allies. Ivan Kozhedub proved his superiority over American fighter pilots once again in the 50s, during the Korean War. Officially, it is still accepted that Ivan Nikitovich was sent there as commander of the 324th Fighter Aviation Division (64 corps), but he did not make combat sorties. However, having studied the testimony of his relatives and fellow soldiers who take part in the film, requesting documents from the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense, our film crew makes a sensational conclusion - Ivan Kozhedub, contrary to Moscow's orders, not only personally fought in Korea with yesterday's American allies, but was once shot down in the sky over Korea. Many materials of the film - diaries and personal letters of Ivan Kozhedub from the family archives, a personal file, a credit card, award sheets and unique photo documents from the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, confirming Kozhedub's participation in the Korean War, will be shown to the viewer for the first time. close

In 1985, perestroika began in the Soviet Union and the Laskovy May group appeared. At their concerts there were only full houses, from unrequited love for them, suicides were committed. The figure of Mikhail Gorbachev faded in the glory of the creator of "Tender May" - Andrei Razin. An accidental photo taken on the beach, where Andrei Razin, as a child, was captured with the Gorbachev family, turned his fate upside down. It was with the help of this photograph that he became Gorbachev's nephew. He did not say this directly - just hinted, and he was instantly believed. Functionaries of all ranks acted without delay: the doors of television and radio opened before him, the Soviet stage lay at his feet. Razin traveled to all the orphanages of the Soviet Union in search of gifted children for his twin groups. close

When the collection of short stories of I. E. Babel “Konarmiya” was published, one of its first readers was S. M. Budenny. "Conarmy" made him furious. Budyonny called "Konarmiya" slanderous speculation and threatened to personally kill Babel with a checker. Defending Babel, Gorky wrote: "He showed the fighters of the First Horse "better, more truthful than Gogol - the Zaporozhians." The writer was saved that time. But on May 16, 1939, no one could help Babel. The writer was arrested. He was in the most terrible prison of the NKVD - Sukhanovskaya. From there, few people managed to get out alive. There were rumors that the true culprit of Babel's arrest was the wife of People's Commissar of the NKVD Yezhov - Yevgenia Solomonovna. There is a secret in the relationship between these people. The authors of the film put forward their version of Babel’s arrest: the writer went to visit the wife of the “iron People’s Commissar” not because he had a “spy connection” with her, but because all this time Babel was collecting material for his novel, a draft version of which was written by the time of arrest. This first and last novel by Babel – perhaps his best literary work – disappeared without a trace in the archives of the NKVD. . . close
