During one of the experiments, killing one of the researchers, escapes to the wild rather bloodthirsty creature, known under the code name - "Sample 17". By doing so, the facility threw 84 million francs into the wind, which was the cost of the project. The only one who was against such an experiment was one of the main theorists of this project, Mark Lehman, who after a splash with his boss, because of which he was immediately fired. Mark, thrown out of his favorite job, goes to visit his ex-wife Eva and their daughter Anna, who live near the largest lake in Germany, located on the border with Switzerland. Eva Lehman once worked in the same laboratory as Mark, but, frightened by the prospects, left science and devoted herself to raising difficult teenagers. Here, on Lake Constance, she kept something like a summer camp for high-risk children. And here on this lake begin to occur strange disappearances of people, which soon Mark associated with the escape from the laboratory of an artificial sample.
