When the heart dies ... it's the worst death ...
Twenty directors from around the world came together and decided to make a film. A movie about love. It's about love, not love. The scenery is completely different, but it all unites one city. Paris. What can you tell in five minutes? Anything. You can see that by watching this movie. All of these short films are about different love. Standard love between a man and a woman. The love between grandfather and grandson. Love is shown at first sight. Love between people with different religious views. It can happen anytime. During an accident, drug sales, or first aid. Anytime and with anyone. I was particularly impressed by the short film about the love of man and vampire. So powerfully shot, and very original.
Twenty directors, twenty different stories, united by one theme. What kind of morality can you take from that. And only one. Love is real everywhere.
As you can already guess from my words, this film reminds me very much of the brilliant film “Love Actually”. It’s a similar topic, but it’s completely different. If Love Actually is pure melodramatic comedy, Paris, I Love You is more of a melodramatic drama. As optimistic as everything in this film is, it’s not a comedy. This, in my opinion, is one of the drawbacks of the film.
It was painful in a serious atmosphere that the film was made. Of course, one can understand, since all twenty directors are mostly non-comedy, unless by a stretch the Coen brothers. At least one, two directors of the comedy genre are missing, especially Richard Curtis. In my opinion, such films only in the comedy direction he is very successful, but not fate.
Now the actors. Basically, all the actors are little-known, and there were a lot of parts, so if there were stars, they did not appear in the frame for long. Well, who I want to mention, of course, Steve Buscemi. Nicely played his role, although all the time and sat on the bench crook different facial expressions, but everything looked so cool ... This is the second favorite short film of the film, after the vampire. It was shot by the Coen brothers. In my opinion, this is the only short film that was funny in this film. Talks about cruel love. The fact that girls love the “bad guys”
What other complaints do I have... This is mainly about timekeeping. We could have done twenty-fifteen stories instead, and I think no one would have been offended, because the topics were becoming less and less important towards the end. That's all, actually.
The movie is about love. It promotes good (mostly, but not always). It is pleasant enough to watch, but it is not recommended to watch this movie alone. You can feel very lonely. So it is better with your girlfriend or young man. Dedicated to my very good friend Daria, who, despite everything, even in a cruel world like ours, always believes in true, pure, sincere love.
