Rufus Sewell was born on October 29, 1967. As a child, the future actor was a bully. In part, this is the fault of the father, who was so carried away by his career that he shifted all the worries of raising children to his mother. She, in turn, working on 2 jobs, just physically could not keep track of them. As a result, Rufus and his brother began to smoke, abuse alcohol, and became addicted to rock. When his father died, the boy became completely uncontrollable. He almost abandoned school, did not always sleep at home and even stole.
But fortunately, at the age of 18, he had an epiphany. He decided to change his life, completely decided on his profession and entered the London School of Drama and Speech. However, only 3 years of training passed and he dropped out of school.
The beginning of his acting career was a role in the play “Best Receipt”, for which he even received an award as best artist. Then he got a role in the play “Arcadia”. And again he was noticed and nominated for a very prestigious Oliver Award. Thanks to this, he is paid attention and invited to play in a play on Broadway. And, of course, he receives a prize for his excellent performance.
Although Rufus Sewell’s main job was theater, he did not forget to go to auditions to try himself as a movie actor. Soon he got small roles in the series. It was they who brought him considerable popularity. Despite his notable acting talent, the films themselves had little success with audiences. This fact greatly upset Rufus, and also prevented him from gaining mass recognition from the audience.
In 2000, he starred in The Blessed Child alongside Kim Bessinger and Christina Ritchie. But the main role he never managed to get. The most successful work of Rufus is considered the role of a knight in The Story of a Knight. He also played well in films.
