So here's where Gandalf disappeared... Let me tell you right away, the movie is divine. It fulfills its purpose – it inspires... it shows that there is a beautiful film, that there is a wonderful story (and I thank Peter Jackson for telling that story)... it shows what is good and what is bad in our grey world. This is what always fascinates me in any quality work (and especially in fantasy) - it can tell about another world, but at the same time reveal different facets of our world and each person.
Well, now let me get to the more detailed praises: Activity: All actors played well. Especially I would like to mention the play of Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Ian McKellen – they fully conveyed and revealed the character, experiences, problems, fears, spirit of their characters. There are no complaints at any point in the film. No, I'm lying. There's still one claim. There was one two-second episode where I felt like Evangeline Lilly was remembering a line. However, since this moment is forgotten literally in a few moments, I consider it unnecessary and wrong to blame anyone.
Voice: here it is worth admitting, although the voiceover is better (a little) than in the trailers, it is still very far from the original. But there's nothing we can do. We are looking forward to a DVD release with the original voiceover.
Music: Howard Shore is a master of his craft! All music in one style and fully suits the atmosphere of the film.
History: It's great. Thanks to Tolkien for that. The film captures the whole atmosphere of the book. Thank you again to Jackson for that. Many (but not me) had doubts about dividing such a small book into 3 parts, about adding an additional storyline from Tolkien's diaries, about introducing new characters (Tauriel) - all of these doubts
! History hasn't suffered in the least! About the story itself. It makes no sense to describe any pros here - whoever wants, let him read the book. Let me just say that the film has a great ending.
I can't name this item "Minus." It’s something I (and only I) didn’t like. References (at the phrase level) to the Lord of the Rings. I have been hearing this for a while.
