Kelly McGillis studied at the Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Juilliard School, making her film debut in 1983’s Reuben, Reuben. In preparation for her next role, a young widow from a Quaker village, Kelly spent a lot of time with a Quaker family. The family wasn't particularly happy about the fact, saying Kelly had misrepresented their lifestyle. Kelly McGillis always claimed that she was a lonely, always concerned teenager, but found a way out of this unpleasant situation – became an actress. Apparently, she is generally inclined to cope with the troubles of life in this way.
