At the age of 15, he participated in a Canadian university competition, writing the game Shelter, and eventually won. As a prize, he received a small amount of money, which he used to launch the production of this game.
After graduating from an art college in Ontario, the future actor worked as a roofer in a construction company and at the same time studied cinematography at the National Council.
Repeated attempts to act in films ended in failure, but Michael Ironside did not abandon this idea and continued to try to sneak into television.
