Peter Coyote then studied at the San Francisco Acting Studios, playing and directing the San Francisco Mime Troupe, a radical political street theater.
He made his film debut in 1980 ("Give Me a Mystery"). He is known for the films “Man Inside”, “High Art”, “In the Deadlock”, “Bitter Moon”, “Roof of the World” (1997), “Sphere” (1998) and others.
From 1975 to 1983, Coyote was a member and, from 1976, chairman of the California State Council for Culture. A member of the American Film Academy, Screen Actors Guild and other professional organizations, he is known for his active political position.
The coyote speaks fluent Spanish and French. The actor has two children; in his spare time, Peter Coyote is fond of songwriting, guitar playing, photography, fishing and SUV jeeps.
