In the theater, the actress began with the roles of lyrical heroines in the plays of classical and modern repertoire, but soon her talent manifested itself in complex dramatic roles: she created memorable images of such outstanding heroines as Anisya in “On a Golden Bottom” by D. Mamin-Sibiryak, Valya from “Irkutsk History” by A. Arbuzov, Cleopatra from “Antonia and Cleopatra” by V. Shakespeare, Kruchinina in “Without Guilty” by A. Ostrovsky.
Although the work of Yulia Borisova is more associated with the theatrical scene, her talent also shined brightly in the cinema, where her debut was the film “Three Meetings” (1950). The most notable role of Julia Borisova is Nastasya Filippovna in the film “The Idiot”, staged by Ivan Pyrev in 1958 on the first part of the novel of the same name by F.M. Dostoevsky. Another heroine remembered by the audience is the diplomat Elena Koltsova in the painting by Georgy Nathanson “Ambassador of the Soviet Union” (1970), the prototype of which was A.M. Kollontai.
