At twenty-one, James Mangold made several short films, and he received an offer from Walt Disney Studios to become a full-time employee. But this work was not to the liking of Mangold, and he returned to New York.
James Mangold also studied at Columbia University, where Milos Forman became his mentor. James Mangold’s debut film was the 1995 film “Fat Man”, which received the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Guillain (Spain), and James Mangold himself in the United States was awarded for best director and screenplay at the Sandes Film Festival.
Director James Mangold's "Policemen" featured top-notch actors: Robert de Niro, Harvey Keitel, Sylvester Stallone, although the tape was not very popular.
