He was born and raised in London in a family of actors Leonard Sachs and Eleanor Summerfield. After school he entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He was born and raised in London in a family of actors Leonard Sachs and Eleanor Summerfield. After school he entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. After graduating from the Academy, he spent several years in various London and provincial theaters, and during this time managed to replay many plays from William Shakespeare to Tom Stoppard. In the theaters of the London West End, he had the opportunity to play on the same stage with Rex Harrison in “Henry V” Pirandello, with Judy Dench in “The Brilliant Lord Quax” Pinero in the production of John Gilgud, and with Derek Jacoby in “Pericles”. He started filming in the early seventies. He first appeared on screen in small roles in the horror film The Vampire Circus (1971, directed by Robert M. Young) and the historical novel Henry X and His Six Wives (1972, directed by Warris Hussain). He also flashed in the English television series Up and Down (1973), Killer (1975), Return to Brideshead (1981). His fame came in 1991, when he received an invitation to play Adam Carrington in the sequel to the American family series "Dynasty", "Dynasty: Reunion" (diary Irving Jay Moore). Later he worked mainly on television, starring in numerous TV series, including the fantastic "Babylon V" (1994-1998) and in the combination of elements of the comedy and horror film "Buffy: Vampire Killer" (1997-2000).
His most notable acting work of recent years took place in the fantastic film "In Search of the Galaxy" (1999, Dir. Dean Parisot) and the horror film "Megalodon" (2004, dir. Pat Corbitt). He also had small roles in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997) and Ocean’s Eleven (2001) by Steven Soderbergh. From 1979 to 1991 he was married to actress Sheen Phillips. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
