Jean Renoir was born in the family of the famous impressionist painter Auguste Renoir, this event took place on September 15, 1894. His father was 53 years old at the time. Jean was educated at a college that was very prestigious at the time, but he did not like it very much. After graduation, Renoir served in the army as a dragoon. Since this was the case in 1914, he went to the front where he was seriously wounded. He was therefore demobilized. After the cure, the future director, having retrained as a pilot, returned to the front line again, but the change of occupation did not save Renoir from repeated wounds, after which he was finally demobilized.
Having settled at home, Jean in 1919 registered a marriage with Catherine Hesling, the former model of his father, and began to work in his own ceramic workshop. After living this way for several years, Renoir decided to write for his wife the script of a film called “Life without joy”. It was then that he finally realized his true purpose in life. Using the financial support of his father, Renoir in 1924 founded a small film company, where he shot his first film “Daughter of Water”, in which his wife played the main role. Then he made many more films that brought him recognition. One of the most important films of Renoir, created by him at that time, are considered films.
