In the winter of 1971, John auditioned at a comedy theater in Chicago and became the youngest member of the group to be trusted with leading roles in productions. His interest in acting was limitless, and he took on any role. Only life on stage seemed real to him, he felt that he lived only by playing a role. Feeling relaxed and completely uninhibited on stage, John did not know what to do in real life in his spare time, so in those years of dashing experiments he easily became addicted to drugs, having tried all their types that he could get.
For his participation in the television comedy program “Saturday Night”, John Belushi was awarded the Emmy Award in the nomination “Best Supporting Role”. A considerable popularity of the actor also brought the role of Bluto in the film.
