He was born on October 9, 1909 in Le Peck (France).
Actor, director, producer, screenwriter Count Ivan Tatishchev (Jacques Tati) - Russian-Dutch-Italian-French origin.
The grandson of the former Russian Tsar’s ambassador to France, he studied art to work in his father’s restoration and painting business. But he was attracted to the sport, especially rugby, which he played professionally for the famous Racing Club team.
He used his experience in the early 30s, when he became an entertainer in cabaret and music halls, performing with the pantomime of the most complex sports figures of the time. The success was instantaneous, and some of his issues became the subject of short films for which he wrote scripts and in which he played as an actor himself. But his film career did not begin until after World War II.
